As a beginner in MK1 who learns Shao, this video is really helpful for me. I learned couple long combos already, but here I saw a lof of other starters and variations. Thanks a lot!
@@qique I tried Frost and Motaro so far. With Frost it's just simpler to start combos after the freeze, and with Motaro a combo can be started with teleport following axe overhead. Another MK1 youtuber I watched says Kung Lao is also good with Shao.

I just don’t understand how to include a db# in a combo like I can do the first part of it but if there’s anything after the first part with a db or a df or a grab whatever then it’s just impossible for me. Any tips? I need a coach 😭
I used to play a lot of DB Fighters and in that game you could spam combos as theyre happening but ive noticed that in all MK games if youre trying to spam the combo it either doesnt work at all or half way works meaning your character either just stands there or does a regular punch. Ive been trying to get the feel down for MK and i have noticed that there is a sweet spot, you need to get the timing right and its as smooth as butter. I would recommend going into the tutorial mode and picking whichever character you want to use, spend some time in there, dont spam and try to find that sweet spot timing for the combos. Its there, once you feel it youll know what i mean.
He did showed us just one big combo with enhanced Axe ...50% Shao is maybe ranked as B tier by most ... but I find him pretty good and the moves ..u can feel how powerfull he is when he hits you ... or when u hit your opponents with him .. even pro players in the RIBS arena showed how u can play him at the highest lvl ..no matter what frame data says ... Shao without axe mode ...he is a even bigger beast ..he reminds me a Hulk when he is without his axe ... and also kind of thor with it.

Instead of Sonya, I use Goro. I do 12, b+k, wait a little bit, 22, db3 ex, dt4, 22, dt2
Shaos Fatal Blow is ass. It's hard to combo into it, and it can't be used as a panic button like some charactors. Great video
How do you do an axe slam that makes them fly up in the air? Whenever I do it they just lie down.
they have to be knocked in the air already to be slammed, watch the combos again and youll see
