  • This is a video showing how I like to setup gameboy advance scaling on the Trimui smart pro and the PSVita. There is a bit of glare from my light since I recorded this at night.

be really carefull with the FN button being on the right,it fried up quite a few consoles alredy, its basically running on full cpu speed all the time with that, if you are using crossmix all the performance tweaks were made by scripts and not using that button, turn in off, people find they tsp smoking hot, with the battery dead and some needed to open up the handheld to unplugg and plug again the battery

Thanks for writing this! I pinned it to the top for others to see. The fn switch was weird to me not sure why they added it, now it seems like they should not have added it.

TSP feels cheap. there - I said it.

      lol it's $50

Yeah it does feel cheap. It's not the nicest device but it's also sub 80 usd price point. I happened to pick this up for 40 usd from a thrift store, so I feel like it's worth that price. Not a replacement for my PSVita as that is a well polished machine. Atleast it doesn't creak like my 160usd RGCube..... I love the power and screen on that device for 4:3, 8:7, and 10:9 content but the hand feel is a bummer for me. I don't think that 4 screws was enough for the design. Should have had 6 or 8 to hold it together better.

What do you recommend that doesn't feel cheap but the price is cheap with the same tsp capability?

@@4b2s67 tbh I have the tsp and it's solidly built and does everything I want. If you want something more sturdy with the same form factor, you'll have to pay an extra $100 for a retroid device

which one do you highly recommend? also how much do these normally cost if I may ask? (edit) i have no background or history with modding or anything, and the trimui having all those game options seems neat, i have zero idea how you did that to a psvita lol, if you could tell me the name of that program to? (youtube is weird sometimes, so if you cant tell me i get it)

Yeah the PSVita is still my favorite way to play psp and Psvita games. It can do gameboy advance as shown and other consoles via retroarch. You have to hack the vita with a custom firmware called Enzo to get anything on then now adays since Sony no longer has a store as far as I know. Unless you buy vita games on cartridge. My red version was a Japanese model that I picked up when I went to Japan a decade ago. They are not region locked so thats nice. O is enter and X is back thats the only difference, some games swap those but I prefer it that way.
If you want to just one device a great all rounder would be a retroid pocket 4 for portability with the ability to play up the gamecube and ps2 and some basic switch games if so inclined.
I am on the fence about the pocket 5 and mini as it has bumps like my RGCube and that makes it not a very pocketable device, I feel like those should drop the pocket name. But they will be a great at home device or backpack device.

The Vita being made back in 2010-11 is crazy.
Gamers had no idea how amazing that handheld was.
I still love my 1000 oled but really want a 2000.. just cause of Nostalgia sickness. 😂

I love my oled vita too but didn't show it because it has a pretty spotchy screen now. I bought it with some splotching but it is getting worse over time. But 2010 to 2024 is pretty good for a oled screen of that time. Wish these modern oled emulation handhelds would go for a pocketable design and not comfort with bumps.

@Johntriger Fortunately mine is still in great shape .The 3G AT&T edition is one heavy little machine, you can really feel the quality when holding it.
I also like my PSP 1000 for the same reason. It's thicker ,heavier and has the awesome cd ejection pop out 😁 I love it. The screen really sucked but man, that thing was freaking amazing.
I miss those days. Everything is so over saturated now. I think the PSP Go was so close to being the best pocket system ever made. That analog placement just made it so uncomfortable...BUT it's still such a cool design. I wish I had kept mine , I regret letting that one "go".

Yeah the 3G at&t 1000 is what I have with the screen issues still had the big orange att simcard in it like old nokias used to take. The screen issue kinda looks like wet splotches. I sold my PSP 1000 model after installing usb c on it because I just enjoyed playing the Go more often.
Since it is a bit expensive now I haven't tried to install usb c in it quite yet.
I don't tend to sell my consoles I just fill up a dresser full of them all haha.
It was bad enough before I started collecting these emulation handhelds since the rg280v and rg350m came out.
The PSP Go is Definitely pocketable and with 16g built in you can put quite of bit of games on it. Used to use the psp go for emulation way before I had anything else, but it's really best as a dedicated portable psp and ps1 machine.

Can you full screen the game on the Trim Ui?

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

Yeah you can just do a stretched fullscreen on both. Looks a little not right that's why I was showing how to setup integer scaling to make it look as intended.
