I bought a thermostat housing first thing I did was take it apart and put in an OEM thermostat the one in it was not brass and not even close to the same design. Same thing with a radiator the radiator pressure release cap was set at 1.4 bar. Replaced it with an OEM cap at 1.2 bar . If you don't pay very close attention you will get completely screwed. Since it's an older truck the radiator and thermostat housing are no longer sold so act accordingly and use your noggin!

Glad you all are putting this out there! Keep up the fight, we are being targeted by the few…. These trucks with Diesel Engines keep the real things moving people! Yes are there a few that abuse them Yes but that’s going to happen to anything. Don’t worry about the few trucks you see rolling coal, smile and know that they will blow it up, it will cost them all of their coin, then they will build a nice truck, no smoke, no noise…. These engines are powering our Emergency Vehicles. Wouldn’t we want these folks on this show to make that truck the best it can possibly be instead of having a turd that goes in to limp mode while it is carrying you to the hospital?

Best way to avoid knock off parts?
Quit trying to find the absolute cheapest source, find out who authorized distributors are and buy from them , or direct from mfg if they sell direct.

Not knocking dynamite by any means but literally every manufacturer of a specific part always says X is literally the heart of your engine wether its a crank manufacturer piston manufacturer turbo etc. Etc. I always get a chuckle when I hear somebody say that

I love how much Lenny is into this shit. He's out in the shop when everyone else is sleeping, gawking and playing with machines and leaning to make better stuff. Pretty awesome, and shows why he's at where he's at. Cool industry to be in with his knowledge and interest. Crazy to say that with everything, especially lately, but this is next level stuff.
Time to get a toy hauler myself and spend time wisely! Thanks for the reminder brother. Good example of a solid forward attitude that's going to push things forward.
