The lack of redundancy with one puller fan makes me nervous for a DD car. I've replaced the fan and fan clutch every 40-50k with zero issues and I see 100°F+ temps from May through September and hard freezing through winter. I'd love to know how may folks have a spal setup like this with significant miles on the E fan puller setup.
The fan in front of the car is for the a/c no need to have removed it. Now your a/c won't cool well especially in town. It also is a safety fan and runs when engine gets overheated.
I did the exact same set up as you, but i spliced into the fan wires instead of cutting aux fan out. Fan doesnt turn on. Only turns on when i connect direct power to 12v terminal.
Surely having a radiator shroud would make it more effective as there's large parts of the rad not covered by the fan, so the air won't be getting pulled through it. The Z4m doesn't have a viscous fan like the m3. And surely the viscous fan causes some parasitic power loss
I have an electric fan on my e46 m3 do you think having the fan and the aux fan cause interface with cooling. I live in Texas and we hit 110 the other day and on the highway oil and water Temps went up not getting to red but Def hotter. But when I stopped at a light Temps went back to Normal lol.

And the link for the brackets for the fan
For more amateur bs?

Did my 2002 325i and got the pedal commander. It's like a whole different car.
A pedal commander?! I gotta do some research because that sounds great!!
I live in Scotland and in the 10 days of summer we get it sometimes hits 20degrees if we are lucky. Loved the video all the same.

Yeah I've realized that after a year of driving it. Never over heated, but definitely planning on putting it back on.
Thanks for the tutorials guys I'm gonna be doing that to my m3
Happy to help!

After making this video a few days later I put the shroud back on aaaand it didn't make a difference at all haha in my case at least
I agree. No fan is better than any fan. The fan just gets in the way of air flow.
Really informative video thank you, quick question where do I get the negative for the electric fan?
That’s what my M5 needs ASAP! Great video dudes ✊
Oh yeah dude, I'mma do that on my M5 too! Game changer
@@YEVSBUILDS I’ll message you for details !

Curious why the new relay and fuse were needed. Isn't the fan control module already wire to an upstream relay and fuse?
Just as a back up for the most part. The fan takes more amps than the original one too
I noticed you are running 265's on OEM 18's, I'm thinking of doing the same. Any issues with that?
Nope, as long as your ride height is set properly you'll be fine
Gonna do that my m3 as well

Good stuff! Please do one for the M5!?
Honestly, planning on it. Should be similar of a job
@@YEVSBUILDS you the man!!! Wish we were neighbors
Loved the video. I followed your link for the wiring kit but it doesn’t show the thermal switch. Where did you get that from?
Oh man, it's been so long, I don't remember. I believe it was on amazon also!
@@YEVSBUILDS ok cheers mate
An u send me the link to Amazon for the wiring kit for the fan
All in the description
@@YEVSBUILDS my m3 is supercharged will 2024 cfm be enough air and I am running a aluminum radiator as well
How many inches of fan can I install on the E46?
I calculate different combo to have to most are area, 1x16" win!
Hey man what is your fitment setup?
OEM Square set up - 265/35/18 all around, fronts have no spacers, rears have a 10mm spacer
would this upgrade work on an
e53 3.0?
You can make anything work for anything, all a matter of time and money haha
Nice neat job
Haha thank you. You gotta keep it clean!
you didn’t answer the question tho. is it worth it ?
I did though, in the thumbnail haha
Taking off the shroud is stupid
I know, I put it back on after this video haha
Me and my boy, why are mericans like this, you hardly know what's going on on this German masterpiece but act like pro's. Ffs...
