Franklin is probably a good beginners glove, maybe for very young little league or as a dad glove, but once you start getting serious and the pitches start hitting 80+, the Wilson is definitely a good investment.

also a Rawlings depending on the glove, I use a heart of the hide and I play highschool/travel and am seeing 80+ normally and I think wilson and rawlings are equally as good

When I was a college/ university catcher, I also loved my $300 glove . Make it through all my pony/ colt to high school to college. Then Donated to my sons, the glove a endurance over 30 years and going strong

Ive caught my entire life and played high school and D1. currently a catcher in an Indy ball league. Ive primarily used a Rawlings glove for both catching and fielding since I started playing ball. However, this last year I made the switch from an Rawlings pro preferred to the Wilson A2K ($399) and I am 10000% happy. Once you start getting into higher level ball either a Rawlings or Wilson is a great investment I just now prefer the Wilson. I like the way the ball hits the pocket and the shape the pocket better. The Franklins are great for kids just starting out. In travel or HS I’d use either a Rawlings, Wilson or an allstar as kids start to throw harder

R9 is as actual better for smaller hand kid than a GG! My son used the 32 inch from 10 to 14 but is starting high-school this year with custom HFH 33 along with matching outfield/pitcher 12.5 HFH...he been had his A2000 11.75 for time on mound past two years!

While personally I think the A2000 catchers mitt is the very best, I actually prefer Rawling heart of hyde fielding gloves over the Wilson A2000, but when it comes to catchers mitts I hate the Rawlings mitt and think the A2000 is the best, well the Under Armour genuine pro catchers mitt is pretty great too... Anyway, but while the A2000 catchers mitt is my favorite, it's not the most expensive.. the All Star pro elite which is probably the most popular catchers mitt, it costs 450 bucks...
