Impressive, but not such a massive leap. Meanwhile, Spyro went from 50 straight to a 90 in one jump so the upgrade in graphics are way more striking.
I was thinking they were just going to slap more polygons to the whole thing and update the textures. but it looks like they rebuilt the whole thing from the ground up using entirely new assets. o-o
It's a remake not a remaster. Remastering is just updating the graphics and textures using the original assets. Remakes build the game again from the ground up. Hopefully this helps clear it up a bit.

you know, the one thing that was always weird to me as a kid was that the adult dragons were bipedal when spyro was a quadruped and so were the dragon statues they came out of. i like what toys for bob have done with this game and it's super cool to see the dragons come to life and how unique they've made them, though i do feel like I personally would've preferred the adult dragons to be more feral than humanised. their fancy attire makes spyro look so naked x) regardless the graphics look top tier and i can't wait to play this
Idk, I kind of see it like, Spyro hasn't figured out his talent yet, so he lacks clothes/accessories that would reflect it like the others do. I also think they all can alternate between standing on two or four legs. Especially with that overdramatic death Spyro occasionally did when he spun around and fell flat on his back hehehe... My theory is also that it's an age thing with how they walk most of the time. Haven't worked out the kinks, but just of it is Spyro hasn't fully developed yet and as he grows, he'll be able to walk on two legs more comfortably if he wishes to do so.
I mean humans start out on all fours and then we start walking with age. Maybe dragons take some time before they can master walking on two legs. He's got some growing pains to look forward to as those legs grow.

Firstly, you used “remastering” in the totally wrong context. Nothing about the Reignited Trilogy is remastered. They’re remakes. Even the music. Someone else is doing the music and it will sound slightly different but it’ll be musically the same/similar. There is an option to toggle to Copeland’s original soundtrack though, and that may indeed be remastered to sound better, which is good

2:08 is kinda the reason I think they over did the changes , i feel like the left had character to it but the right is just a generic ogre looking fook.
Don't get me wrong some of them are surpurbly done but some are like the 2:08 example. The egg snatchers kept their look and are fine but even with the wonky ps1 graphics , some of the enemies feel like they have more character before they are remastered.

While I agree that by today's graphical standards, the original style of the Spyro trilogy would be too plain and awkward, given all the flat textures and clocky shaping, it doesn't necessarily require a complete re-imaging of just about every key detail to make it look acceptable. The N.Sane Trilogy is a perfect example of this. While Vicarious Visions made many visual improvements to Crash Bandicoot such as model designing and detail embellishment, the overall product still managed to recapture the attractive aesthetic of the original. With this Reignited project here, Toys For Bob literally warped many of the designs and details almost beyond recognition. I'm not just talking about added environmental elements or a few clothing accessories, but the faces and structures of the characters themselves have been changed to the very core. The thing is, I'm not at all a fan of the crash games, yet I was able to watch the promo content, fully able to identify everything without effort. Meanwhile, being a die-hard classic Spyro fan, I need to seriously stare at the screenshots for a minute and watch comparison videos just figure-out what half the stuff even is. The best way I can sum this up as is that, if the original games are underdone, these new ones are overdone...

it's a bit sad that the first spyro game i ever played was the legend of spyro dawn of the dragon. a game that was well into a story that i had never seen or heard before, confusing the hell out of me. and not having or growing up with the console that the firsts spory games was on. but now i can look forward to play that game in a new fine resolution, that game i have seen many say are the best spyro games.
Now let's hope they replace those purple paint guns that they changed in Twilight Harbor with something that better fits the naval base theme of the original, such as flame throwers, rockets, or chemical green slime.

It's not going to be 1 to 1 like the original games. As long as the changes have their own merits to them then I have no complaints.

One thing that throws me with the new dragons, why do they appear to be bipedal whilst Spyro is quadrupedal?

Well they stood on their hind legs, so I though they were just doing that for the speeches (I was about 7 when I first played it).
But with clothes, its clear they're bipedal most of the time, so why is Spyro quadrupedal?
I seen a turtle turn into a big penguin in the old version. But this one in the remake is different.

I think the idea is that it's just some kind of chest creature guarding the life inside, since it's such an important thing it'd need to be protected
I honestly can't wait to see what the spiders and sharks from Spyro 2 are gonna look like. Those things fucked me up as a kid. Ready to see them in HD and shit bricks!

Some of the Spyro 1 screenshots shown in the vid are from an early build, but yeah TFB should be finished with Spyro 1 by now.
