🔹 About Owlsley Burroughs: Owlsley, who hails from the verdant and mysterious hills of Melbourne, Australia, has been a musical anomaly since day one, and is possibly one of the most underrated indie artists who ever lived. Known for his eclectic sound and creative flair, he makes music with equipment held together with rubber bands and sticky tape, to produce unique songs that resonate with his listeners. From his abundant solo ventures, to the psychedelic vibes of his former band Hoopiron, to his collaboration with Penelope Arvanitakis, Owlsley’s musical meanderings are truly something to behold.
🔸 Musical influences & style: Owlsley loves The Smiths, The Beatles, Blur, Nick Cave, Chic, Bob Dylan, Les Rita Mitsouko, Bert Jansch, XTC, The Sparks and many others besides.
🔹 Fun facts: Owlsley sustains his creativity on a diet of Tim Tams and Reisling. He hosted the beloved 'Brain Massage' radio show on Melbourne's 3PBS FM in the 1990s. He can often be found walking among the tall trees, humming new melodies.
