I have been helped so much by Guitar Wisdom, I am so glad you have taught me there is more to guitar than minor Pentatonic shapes! Between not looking at it as a shape and singing the inversions I have made improvements I never thought I would. I literally have learned more in 4 months of Guitar Wisdom than the whole previous 5 years of attempting to teach myself. I guess it never dawned on me that you can't really teach yourself to do something YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO! Thank you again, I will be a lifelong student your style of teaching really connected with me when so many others didn't at all. I thought I would never understand inversions but now I am well on my way to understanding, and being able to play, 4 note dom 7th chords. Thanks again your a great teacher for real.

Tomo, you are wonderful! I'm learning by watching, listening, and following your methods. I don't understand all the concepts at first, but as I listen to what I'm practicing, while thinking of your explanations (and reviewing the videos for verification), it's opening up doors like magic. I say magic because it isn't difficult, it just seems to reveal itself. You are amazing and I appreciate your efforts to make yourself available. Of course I'm now a happy member of your Guitar Wisdom course (all of your videos are infected with happiness). I'm looking forward to my journey and can 't wait to see how far you can lead me; I'm thinking pretty far.

Great guitar you've got there Fujita sensei. Especially for the price.
I just wish they had added another tone for the bridge pickup so we can tame the brightness down to ballance out the pickup with the rest of the pickups
I know this might be beyond the scope of your videos but can you do a video on extended chord voicing such as playing the second invertion of Maj7 chord of the third of a minor chord gives me a root less minor 9 chord and more advanced chord comping?
    Or more rootless voicings?
Thank you very much for all you do. They all are good reminder materials for the basics. And having good basics or the foundation is key to being overall well versed guitarist so. Thank you.

@@joeschmoe6720 most definitely, remember if you want to play an A chord triad for example you need to have the Toppings that are related to the notes in the A chord Triad . The "A" chord triad has notes
E, A and C#. So topping ideas could be (for E) Extra Cheese , (for A) aubergine and (for C#) cheddar cheese but has to be strong cheddar to get the sharp flavour and to match the C#note. Also for other triads you can do the same thing, this way you get to learn different triads and taste different toppings on your pizzas, Enjoy!

So speaking as an elderly guy that just takes pleasure in playing as an amateur, bar bands, yada yada. Nothing is too simple to teach, to learn, or relearn. Have a neighbor who knows most of the basic chords but all his stuff sounds the same, of course that is right hand. But learning inversions and learning chords, progressions and keys by the number pushes that right hand to learn to play the song, not just the chords. Sensible? Be nice to have a similar lesson that focuses on the simple most important things of the right hand. Hint, I am an expat in Central America, played r&b, funk, blues 50 some years, but then when I just want to play along to Latin music, my right hand fails me. Not talking hard stuff, the chords are easy like Natalia Lafourcarde tunes, but I get lost trying to keep in rhythm. The kids en mi bario play it like butter, I struggle. ...and???

This is more the beginning of learning a different tequnique that actually is important called arpeggios or kinda like.another called the cage system lol he has some talent... some and shows off and then doesn't explain how chords and.scales and arpeggios and the cage system all fit together find.a real teacher. This is to get views and likes not to teach you anything. Mean I just gave you the full recipe in this.comment and gave each thing needed.by name. And that they all fit together and make sense of the guitar for you. What did you learn from this whole.video?

should i be memorizing the order of intervals for each shape, so for example the d shape triad, is 5th Root and M/m 3rd, and so on, or am i gonna confuse myself in some way when moving on, cause i memorized intervals on the lower strings by basically doing the same thing with barre chords and power chords, like knowing where the octave and the 5th is and then knowing how to find my way to other intervals based on those 2 that i know by heart

Very cool. This is something I've thought about recently, being concious of the notes you're playing in chords. Which made me realize that the open E, A, and D Major chords follow the same pattern of intervals. Root, fifth, root, major third, etc. And open G, C and F Major (with root on the D string) share the same pattern of intervals. Root, major third, fifth, root, etc. And really, there's only one pattern of intervals for the common chord shapes on guitar because the F Major I described is just the "E shape" with the bottom root and fifth chopped off. Might seem obvious, but I thought it was really cool. When you know where the notes are you can be more creative with inversions and either substituting or adding notes.

People like this get you stuck and.confused forever even with all the technology we.have these days its.a.disgrace to music.and.spreading knowledge of what is actually needed to learn to progress. Disgrace they just try to.pro.ise they will teach you so they get views and likes when really in one video they can tell you everything you need to learn and you can go learn it

Here's a funny comparison, when it comes to structures, there's nothing more stable than a triangle and when it comes to music triads are so stable/reliable.

i've played guitar since 2001 but i've never been able to understand music theory and i knew very very little about it.. a few months back i decided to give it a try and i started with this video because i thought triads would be a good place to start.. But at the time i didn't even know how to find the 3rd and 5th of a chord so all i could do was follow along the best i could.. Eventually i had to move on and i decided to start working on scales instead.. Not long ago, i finally had a light bulb moment with the 3rd's and 5th's so i came straight back to this video.. Now things are clicking and i've been finding triads on my own and taking notes. Hopefully i'll be able to utilize them soon.. You're a great teacher and i'm very thankful for your videos.. Usually talking about music theory makes me discouraged and confused, so it's a refreshing feeling being able to understand something about it for once.
