I love the way he says *"Midge?"* "... Oh, _Midge._ Well, well well, all hail the Upper West Side."
He always gets three notches sweeter whenever Midge is involved. He could be gruff or snarky in a really abrasive smartass way, but he just gets so genuine.
Like after Midge bailed Lenny out and she gets scared realizing she has a court date. Her line is "I don't know what to do." and Lenny's line is "It's mourning. Go have breakfast." and their interaction could have been very screwball snarky yet funny banter, but instead it was played so genuinely caring. She wasn't frustrated and whiney, but vulnerable and honest, and Lenny was comforting and wise, basically _"just breathe. You'll be okay."_ really establishing that mentor role. GOD I love those two!

Also, a slightly different side-note, but the creators and cast really made it seem like these two were not supposed to be romantic, but even from the first scene there was something between these two (when he called her cute and the look they gave each other come on.) and yet, a lot of us genuinely thought it would never happen and then the finale came out and ya know... they fooled me. their connection is beautiful to watch. the writers really displayed something I thought I was alone in feeling. just chef's kiss.

I fucking love Lenny. He’s a smart, wise-cracking asshat but under that tough exterior he has a good heart. He didn’t have to help Midge at all, but he did anyway. The fact that the real Lenny Bruce was a Libra makes sense. We go hard for the people we love ❤️
