The interview we’ve all been waiting for what an absolute legend this man is. He was doing stoppies for fun before a certain Turkish rider was born. Whit was hanging off the bike like nobody else at the time brilliant style. I remember watching him at Mallory park in an early season race before the main superbike season had started must of been around 91 on a gsxr 750 he had cleared off from the pack & was pulling wheelies for fun what seemed to be the length of the back straight I had my old video camera filming him still got the footage. He even waved on the way past what a character. Of course at the time we didn’t know how intelligent he was off the bike no social media in those days. His mechanical knowledge & understanding is quite amazing. Shame he’s not doing the commentary on WSB anymore I’m sorry but mr Toseland just bores me to death he’s certainly got know natural gift or personality as does mr Whitham . I don’t watch it now Whits not on. Also another ridiculous situation wtf isn’t JW part of the TT coverage that needs sorting out. As he eluded in the interview he misses the WSB paddock & the travelling so it was obviously not his decision to walk away from that particular role. JW has also mentioned a while back he doesn’t know why he was dropped from the TT presenting team same as MR Parrish. It needs a guided tour of JW bike collection as a part 2 video. If you haven’t already just tap in macau Gp 92 never mind the Oulton park race just watch that. Foggy & Whit going at it on a couple of 500 Gp bikes. 😂❤
I can remember watching Jamie at Mallory Park and him knocking Jim Moody off at the chicane.😆 The Marshalls had to hold Jim back when Jamie came around again!🤕
I recall an MCN article about three young lions who were about to emerge... All names I'd heard but wasn't too familiar with: Carl Fogarty, Terry Rymer and this guy. Fogarty was (as I recall) slightly older, but they were all making waves. The target at that time was to get onto a 500cc GP bike and all seemed destined to have a good chance. I don't know what ever became of the other two, but this one was 110% entertainment. Never a dull race. Never less that everything. Chapeau!
What a legend ! Remember him and Steve Cull tangling at the Kirkistown hairpin, Cull's RG 500 handlebar caught in Jamie's grabrail on the GSXR😅 He kicked it off and rode on 😅
Been following and watching Jim Whitham since his GSXR Durex days 😄 Superbike racing was truly amazing back then.. I was at Brands on my FZR1000EXUP in ‘99. The place was packed, and even the weather was hot! When it was time to leave, the 1000s of bikes plus hot weather caused the tarmac to melt in places.. Brilliant weekend
I absolutely love Whit. Have done a lonnng time. One of my all time bike racing heroes, an even better pundit, and seems like a fantastic bloke... Look forward to meeting him.
A most enjoyable interview. I got talking to him in the race office in 2019 at the classic tt, we was telling everyone how better looking he was than Carl Fogarty, absolutely hilarious. Definitely right about Carl getting the crowds in at wsb meetings. Thanks Danny.
I've always thought those riders who had feel and could be fast in the wet or on the Isle of Man TT were the mutts. Cal and JW are brilliant in the wet.
Yes legend i remember watching him at oulton park on the Cadbury boost Yamaha braking into the first corner after the start finish straight back wheel in air every lap awesome rider and nice bloke I’m an ex speedway rider myself belle vue 1986 but I got massive respect for anyone who can ride a bike like that 💪 great interview
Great interview. As another biker, drummer, and private pilot, I'd love to go flying with Whitham and shoot the shit sometime. Genuine down to earth bloke.
A great hero of mine, Mr Whitham could beat anyone on a given day. Valentino was the same with qualifying, its as if he didn't want to risk all just for qualifying. Saved it for Sunday, then us spectators get the spectacle of watching a racer tear through the rest of the riders
Whits a great bloke. Had time for me when I was club racing and helped me out at donno many years ago..I recommend his book called "what a good do" good stories about modenas KR3. Nearly getting into a scrap at Oliver's mount and an unfortunate incident of a marshal picking up his exploded brake disc. To name a few🙂
Love to meet James for 10 mins to chat about....when I use to come to Crossland Moor to fill my '68 Roadrunner up with AVGAS before I went drag racing in the early 90s, your Dad filled 'er up from the hanger ha ha, I still live 5 miles from there and still own the car today. Remember a bloke called Wilton Sutton Jamie?.🤣🤣
Erm… you’ve used a picture of mine that I shot for a magazine Classic Racer. And I bet some of the others are maybe Clive Challinor’s or Don Morley’s. You could have asked…😂
So true about the circuits....they look like giant car parks with wiggly coloured paint to make a track..... Totally boring and Shite to watch now....!

Great guy and great character. He has so much passion for the sport!

I agree also tosspot also bored me to death should have stuck to putting people to sleep with his little pop band 😂😂😂
Brilliant bloke , the best out there, down to earth and knows what he is talking about.
James Whitham..... such a nice genuine entertaining bloke. Half handy as a peddler too. His columns in Superbike mag were hysterical😂
Very funny guy!

Legend and a hooligan. Absolutely excellent interview! #69 🏁
What an absolute legend Jamie Whit is. Great interview! 😁
That R1 ad, so good! And that last lap in BSB “mans stuff this!” 😂
Absolutely lovely bloke, always funny, willing to have a chat and very fast 👍👍🙂
When I met my wife I got her into bike racing. Highlight was 600 super sport, Jamie Whitham & the axe murders. Great days.
What a guy, nice one Danny, whit has always been a down to earth hero
Legend!
What a legend. Could listen to this all day. Ace

Genuine guy
Hats off to you guys and James
I absolutely love Whit. Have done a lonnng time. One of my all time bike racing heroes, an even better pundit, and seems like a fantastic bloke... Look forward to meeting him.
What a pleasure to listen to a real genuine, modest, and nice guy...I could listen to him all night. Thanks Jamie great interview Danny.
Thank you
Top interview Danny JW is a top man, what he doesn’t know about bike racing is worth knowing.
Naturally funny guy and all round good egg 👍
Whit is so easy to listen to. Love his passion and honesty. Long may his health hold out and he continue with his career.

Epic interview.... but that picture not being in the picture frame is doing my head in 🤣🤣🤣

Fantastic interview/chat Dan, as always, very informative and interesting to watch
I've still got pictures of you at Lydden with a 125 with my then very young son sitting aboard, those were good times.
Brilliant time and some fantastic memories
Remember JW leading the Bol dor 24hrs on the first lap and looking over his shoulder as if it was the last lap 😂
Top bloke 👍👍
James was an exciting rider to watch along with Slight, Haga and Foggy.
Great interview. As another biker, drummer, and private pilot, I'd love to go flying with Whitham and shoot the shit sometime. Genuine down to earth bloke.

Absolute Demon on the brakes Jaimie Whitham. Top Bloke. Holds the World Record for length of friendship with a certain surly Lancastrian
Fantastic video, what a great character Jamie is, could do with being 3hrs longer 😊
Cracking interview
Proper bloke is JW. Northerner, tough, hard working, no nonsense.
He’s like the John Smiths advert of the motorcycling world.
That was a great interview
So wish they still ran at Monza and full length Brands....
Hockenheim too
JW is up there with Clive Padgett as far as incredible knowledge, achievemnets and all round top bloke.
Seen him quite a few times, bravest late breaker into Mallory park hair pin by far lol
Top bloke jw.👏👏👏
This is lovely stuff, just my age group in terms of memories
Top bloke
James "where"s my front end gone" whitham

legendary kidd 💯💪
He is a true ♦️
i cant believe the rain out the kitchen window
Was John Kosinski invited to the party?
Erm… you’ve used a picture of mine that I shot for a magazine Classic Racer. And I bet some of the others are maybe Clive Challinor’s or Don Morley’s. You could have asked…😂
Who’s the interviewer !
I miss the older days of racing of being near the track. Silverstone is really really boring. Bring back grass run off areas.
So true about the circuits....they look like giant car parks with wiggly coloured paint to make a track.....
Totally boring and Shite to watch now....!
Liked n sub'd because of #69, top bloke
I’m gonna survive…shit I’ve sold me plane 😂 he’s a diamond, typical no bull Yorkshire man
