    Ken, at our age I think for the number of times we would need to do a bike trip, Uber is more comfortable and a lot cheaper !!

    If you put a street tire the bike 🚲 it would ride smoother and faster.

    That has a 17.5 amp battery? Supposedly ss spokes and all bolts are blacken. I see they changed the display screen too. Is all water resistant because I heard that the ones we have are not.

    I’m getting an education on the e-bike options out there. I agree that it is a nice colour. Always nice to have a change.
    I found that the lowest position for the handlebar was still a bit high. Made it look a bit like a Harley chopper. When I was a kid, we used to take clothes pins (the ones with the spring) and clip playing cards to the front forks of out bicycles to get that chopper sound. The cards would get hit by the wheel spokes. It worked really well and sounded cool. More card produced a bigger sound.
    Thanks for the video Ken. You could always strap a picnic basket on the back rack and have a nice ride out to a quiet place for lunch.

      Thanks. I used to do that with cards as well when I was a kid.

    Might be the best E-Bike🚲 you've previewed👍😎‍👍‍. Very easy assembly. Good overall performance. Good Brakes. Well thought out construction by the designer. Some people may be wondering about those huge Wheels. Big fat tires are more stable and forgiving than traditional bicycles with skinny tires/wheels. Wider tires allow more surface-to-surface contact with the road, greatly aiding in balance. Larger tires also allow for more give when riding over uneven road surfaces so far less risk of road debris throwing the bike off kilter.

    Wow Ken, that's the best one so far, what percentage was left on the battery? And if my calculations are correct that makes number 8.😁 Thanks for the ride share and have a great Sunday!!! Jay 👍👍

    • @kenskarpentry
      @kenskarpentry  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks Jay I think it was around 70 percent. I worked it hard going up steep hills.

    At the end of the day you’re needing to put all the bikes 🚲 through a set course. And some of the big hills. Setting up a say 5 miles per hour. Up hill cutting off. Flat maximum speed on flat road. You get the idea 💡 And then there is the comfort and seat 💺. Bumps, and brakes are important. Lights. Ok I could go on. Thumbs up 👍 and thanks 😊

    Looks British racing Green nice bike Ken this is a handy bike.Ken you still had good speeds uphill even with you pedalling you. Would not have gone up the hill so fast on a pedal only

    Is it safe to be operating a cycle with a bad wrist?

  • @aelaan12
    @aelaan12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I just looked through their site and this bike does have regenerative power, which is important to extend the ride as much as possible. I can not find the weight restrictions on their website, the XL looks to be for taller people, but who knows.... So, if you go this fast, say around 25 miles average, and have 750W you are not allowed to ride it here in Canada. They limit it here to 20 miles and 500W, plus there are no dedicated bike lanes. It would be too dangerous to drive it here, ask me how I know....

    What did you think about the battery usage as a percent used for your trip?

    • @kenskarpentry
      @kenskarpentry  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think a combination of cold temperatures and steep climbs justified a 30 percent usage.

    Something about a lefty throttle bothers me after driving for 55 years. Also noticing the weight of 83 pounds is probably more than many can easily shove into their car without help.

  • @RobertKohut
    @RobertKohut ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't like that folding the bike always connects and disconnects the battery. I think long term that might degrade the connector...🙂

      Is the electric motor direct drive to the wheel or does the selected gear have any effect on climbing hills?

  • @johnmanthey2683
    @johnmanthey2683 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I only have two questions for you. You've tested several different brands and styles. Is there one particular brand that stands out or above all the rest that you've tried? What happens to the bikes after you're done testing and reviews? My concern is you lifting and twisting that bum wrist. I sure hope you're not hurting it further. Take care .
