Honestly, I saw a massive difference in ranked from about rank 5 silver up, I am gold, it took me twice as long to get from rank 5 silver to gold as it took me to get through bronze, you need to carry hard a lot of times, I have no idea why, it seems the better players are mostly bronze.
Feel like In bronze you have a lot of people who aren’t the best but are aware of it so they are willing to play a role in the team. You only need 2-3 teammates who work well with you to get the win

qualifying for gold in the first two sprints was near impossible, first sprint was entirely impossible. once you get there, getting to rank 1 in gold wasnt much of a big deal, did it whilst memeing half the time
I’ve been playing ranked in GK almost exclusively and it’s been the most fun I’ve had in WoWs for quite awhile. Even sky cancer hasn’t been that bad unless it’s something broken like FDR.
I've been playing similar with my Monty. Key is remaining undetected as long as possible. It's great catching the enemy cruisers by surprise from where they didn't expect it.
Really tanky ships and pushing battleships will always be meta in ranked, simply because the smaller team size and (usually) uncoordinated teams mean you can actually do something before being melted. Personally, I've just been playing cruisers and DDs mostly, Stalingrad especially, because it's easier to make plays when you know that you can spot an enemy DD and either kill it, let your team kill it, or give it severe emotional damage. Plus Stalingrad is still reasonably tanky in ranked for the same reasons as mentioned above, so even the 60s fires don't hurt as much. It still takes some skill to pull off, though I still sometimes look up to find 150k damage games that I don't remember pulling off.
I've generally been spamming Des Moines. The ship I feel has the combination of utility and firepower to carry my teammates, especially in these smaller team sizes, making it easier to isolate 1v1s using island cover. The improved pen angles are also nasty to deal with for other cruisers. The radar also helps with dealing with enemy destroyers, along with the hydro. Finally, proper angling of armour means you can deal with certain battleships as well and unless it's a kremlin you generally can take a huge chunk out of an enemy BB's HP pool. The ship is basically my go-to ranked workhorse, though after this season finishes, unless another T10 season comes I'll be retraining my DM commander to Annapolis.

The shorter range radar doesn't matter when you're using it to aggressively flush out destroyers and dominate a cap and the improved heal affords you a degree of early survivability that Des Moines lacks. You can pull off some silly counter-DD shenanigans which can alter the direction of the match in your team's favour almost as soon as the game has started. But both ships rely on not being the focus of the red team's ire. Luckily they both have the tools to play support during the mid-game and mop up the remnants if the match goes long.
i remember i played once a game where one meta was dominant. And it was so dominent that everyone asked the devs why they dont do anything about it. They awnsered that its completly balanced and that the current meta is only by a very small number better. But since all the hardcore gamers went for the last 1% they played that meta, and the "average player" where just coping what was played in the top tiers even tho they dont know why this meta was strong, they didnt had the skill to play the meta or lost because they cling to it desperately. Like as if it were an automatic victory if they stick to the meta-recipe. And the devs sad further, if the "average player" would play other strategies who are on paper a little bit weaker but are easier to play, they would perform better. Even if a meta is maybe on paper a little bit stronger, but that dont mean other strategies are doomed to fail. Its great to see that your aggresive play does work (sometimes) and even better if you had fun. Thats what games are ultimately about, having fun.
Brawling still feels really fun to do, both because it's rewarding and gives adrenaline. It's not really much fun/possible when you're dealing with either a CV or Sub though. It's not worth pushing in when you don't know where the DD or Sub is positioned. Same for CV, a brawling ship often becomes a priority target for the CV.

Hi, what camera settings are in this one? The ships don't seem to warp when you move the camera and they actually look long as they used to. I really don't like the camera update because of that.

Both aggressive ships when they are close and by the time I was able to push in randoms a random cruiser would farm me out of a massive chunk of my HP. Then I unlocked Yamato and now love playing randoms dealing 150-200k every battle. So it all comes down to kind of ships u choose.
CAPs feel more condensed and it forces all ships, including the big boys to push in and go for it early. It's great. Been playing tons of ranked. Playing battleships, but the ship I was able to really go to work with the the Jinan. Jinan incredibly struggles in randoms given how many destroyers end up in matches. But things are soo much more balanced with ranked when you have only 1 to 2 DDs per match, that light cruisers can really perform well since concealment is soo important to their game play. Most importantly, the big boys need to push in on CAPs to win, instead of sniping 3/4 of the game at spawn lines. Soo much better. Brawl factor for BBs is great to see and so is how cruisers can be more impactful when you don't have to worry about 4 DDs and a sub spotting you the entire game.
Playing my Preussen aggro in ranked worked so well. Many 200k+ matches. Maxed out main gun reload with module, adrenaline rush and close quters expert on a secondary/fire prevention build is so much fun. However, DDs are still the best tool to carry. Sadly im not that good with them.
1) Land of Fire is a definitely an NA thing - on EU you have 95% split teams on both sides, with some DD or occasional (stupid) cruiser trying mid getting melted. The only thing you can meet in the middle is things like Ragnar etc., really nice pushes there. You should have tried it here. 2) I seem to see a distinct lack of german ships played in this. I was really hoping for few Schlieffen+Lutjens highlights and same with GK. Is there something you don´t like about those ships, or just didn´t have time to go through? Because correctly pushed Schlieffen/GK in ranked is superfun and allows for pretty aggressive gameplays
TBF, being a good and/or veteran player in ranked Bronze is oftentimes T10 sealclubbing in BB's since you're much less likely to face the good DD / CL / CV players who'll fun police you back to port for playing aggressive in a BB.
Colombo is the most underrated BB in rank. She work very well. Slap very hard. 1 vs 1 with montana? No problem. 1vs 1 Bourgone? easy clap. 1 vs 1 with German BB? Need to stay at mid range. Use the smoke screen, load AP, wait for enemy cruiser turning, catch broadside, boom. RANK UP!
Since this latest update I have not been able to connect with anything. Prior to that I was getting 4-8 citidels every match. My win rate (and karma) have taken a major dump. WTF?
I love the Ohio but the last two patches its dispersion has been turned up or something. I have had so many shots that bracket the target its infuriating. Its one of my most played and I've sidelined it until that gets resolved.
Goes without saying the 6v6 of ranked helps with pushing. The normal 12 v 12 of random battles is quite punishing, cant tell you how many times i got spotted back in the day when i would take "priority target" and see 6 to 8 people point their guns at me. Generally once a Battleship starts getting focused by 3 or 4 ships at once it starts to die quickly.

I am a Burg player it’s just a big Petro. Something interesting that I did with mine was I’ve built it with the secondaries not to necessarily do damage but it helps when you have a DD that I’m not aware of trying to flank you it’s almost like a secondary warning when my secondaries start firing randomly I know to look around to see what was the cause
Not a ranked game, but you have to sit and laugh when as a Kremlin, you are being focused, tanking for the team and the rest of your team sees it as an opportunity to turn and run....even when you have the opponent outnumbered. XD
Ranked this time around is really really frustrating. About 20% of the games, someone is AFK for the first 10 minutes of the game or more, and players seem to simply rush in and die. WoWs is really getting to be a drag with the quality of players.
I was the Napoli in that 2nd game and I was really frustrated because pinged PQ and tried to get the Petro to help me but he just tunnel visioned on the Moskva and Mino. That however isn't an exuse for how poorly I tried to rush there Edit: Apparently this was on stream and I guess I embarassed myself live
The reason why I watch your channel and not Jingles anymore is that you, unlike Jingles, are not an ass hole to other players when they make mistakes or whatever.
Ranked where only 6 possible enemies can shoot at you opposed to 12 possible opponents In randoms isn't a great example of brawling battleships in 2022. Sure Ranked is gonna be more fun for a brawler...do this same video but in randoms and see how brawlers work.

It's possible a fair chunk of good players are busy doing other game modes, like Clan Battles.

Your dispersion with kremlin looks way better than what I usually get.

Enjoyed playing DD in ranked, find BB meta is very passive (early gold). More fun in lower ranks.
Ohio is a beast in ranked, 200k avg for me, 250k is the best dmg i had so far

I only play ranked these days because no subs no superships. Ironically much more relaxing, provided you're not try harding to rank out.

I personally like Ranked better than Random, regardless of the outcome of the battle. I just have more fun playing Ranked.

No CV + no sub = fun game.

if you read about historic naval battles, there are a lot of cowardly or stupid captains
I play agressive in ohio and kremlin, and if we lose , even if I am top xp on my team, I lose karma just cos I don't play "meta"
Ranks sucks, and after 28 seasons, I called it quit, to no regrets, after over 16 000 battles(over all modes) I'm happy to be out.
