Bounty paper towels are 100% made in the USA. Scott toilet paper made in the USA. Those shouldn't go up.

Im definitely not a rich person and there are 2 of us oldies at my place, but I can feel for people trying to feed, clothe children today. My DIL spent 400.00 on groceries the other day and didn’t get everything that she needs. I definitely shop the sales and use coupons, etc. but prices are nuts! Hang on, everyone, and try your best to buy extras on sale if you can. Happy New Year to all from Atlantic Canada

CHEERS FROM CANADA EVERYBODY ! The price of eggs here are $3.99 for a dozen large , $6.99 or more for 18. The best sale on Butter is at Walmart at $4.49 a pound .Yup ! That's a sale price . Regular is $5.99 and up . Stewing beef $9.99 a pound . I went shopping at a few stores yesterday and I was expecting to see deals for New Years festivities . Nothing to get excited about

Hi. I’m in Atlantic Canada and our butter/egg prices are higher than that still . The best deals this week are at shoppers (weekend specials). 5.49 for butter and eggs are 3.69. I’m sure you know about the shoppers 2 day sales in weekends). You’re right. Nothing much for New Years sales. I buy butter and freeze when on sale. Hang on … 2025 price increases are coming! 20 rolls of TP in Canada for the kind I buy is 26.47 if not on sale. Everything in Canada is way more expensive than the USA. I watch a channel I love on TH-cam and she is always grocery shopping and it's mind blowing how much cheaper everything in the US is compared to Canada. Milk is so much cheaper. Butter is cheaper, meats, sometimes your eggs go up high to match ours. Before Covid our eggs were $1.99 a dozen, now those same eggs if not on sale are $5.49. It's insane.
I T-Bone steak is $20. Though I do not eat hardly any meat and never drank a coffee in my life, so I can save a lot right there. 1 container of cottage cheese is $7.49 it use to be $3.99 or less. One lb of butter use to be $2.49-$3.99 and now it's almost $8 not on sale sometimes more. It's crazy. Chocolate chips jumped way high too. I use to get the big bags to bake with for $6.99-$7.99 now they are smaller bags and cost $11.99-$16.99 depending on the store. It's crazy. That is in Nova Scotia.

A lot of people don't realize how much petroleum and electricity prices drive the cost of paper products. Fuel for harvesting, power and chemicals in milling , and fuel in shipping ( very bulky items ) to store shelves . The cost of petroleum products is the biggest driver of inflation on everything.

the original plans when Big Lots filed bankruptcy was to close all 900 stores and all warehouses/distribution centers but someone out of no where offered to buy between 200-400 of the stores and at least 2 warehouses and they will carry the big lots name i believe. don't recall the name of who it was, has Gordon in the name. there is a meeting with the bankruptcy judge right after the first of the year like within the first 2 weeks of the year to get approval of the sale. i had a friend buying up things from big lots at a deep discount but since this company offered to buy a package deal they put any deals on hold with him now until it is determined which stores are being sold off to this other company.
i love Sam's too. I really like the scan n go and the big blue arch they have now so I can get in and out without waiting around to get checked out anymore. so nice bypassing the registers totally.
been years since we went out on new years eve. we use to stay home and turn on the scanner but the last few years we haven't done that either.

Same thing happened in Michigan this week - we basically had no public warning until a couple signs were posted in some stores like Meijer the week before Christmas. Immediately taking effect this week, we can already see the eggs are now at least $5-$6 per dozen, cage free only 😢 I literally stocked up a couple boxes of Walmart 5 dozen boxes ahead…. People said I was crazy but no offense $3.99 / dozen cost is better than the eggs this week once the law kicked in.
Just heard they are doing tons more cullings…. Now we won’t be able to afford eggs in 2025 😅😢

Go to a factory farm of caged chickens and you too will want them cage free. Cage free isn't much better, they still peck at each other, run around in their own urine and feces and all indoors in sheds with horrific ammonia like air quality. Chickens belong protected with outdoor and roaming access. Go to a farm. American confined animal farming operations are horrific and disgusting

What state is Durango in? I had not heard of states doing this. I buy pasture raised at Sam's every 6 weeks and I do notice a big difference in quality. In between I buy conventional eggs. Cage free are no different than regular ones. Life of the chicken can't be that much better😅.

Good Morning! Have been stunned by the prices of eggs in my area which seem to go up weekly over the past few months. At our Fred Meyer, the Kroger eggs are $6.99/dozen & $10.39/18 ct. Yikes! They had 'Happy Eggs' on sale $7.99/18 ct. Never thought that would be the good deal price. Crazy!

Danno I have been stocking up for months. Not really on food, but on HBA items and washing detergent. I buy a lot of the better items at Dollar Tree. I have been storing them in clothes baskets in the basement. Ollie's Bargain Outlet has had a lot of Tide and Doweny scents. We have been stocking up on that like crazy.
We do have a LOT of spices currently.
My significant other is a bartender and he wins a lot of meat raffles. We get a lot of free steak.
We have a lot of canned veggies and canned goods. We got loads of coffee for Christmas. He drinks it and I don't.
