Before it was hard to find men wearing kurtas...now more men wear kurtas as a daily wear. While today we can't expect men to wear dhoti on a daily basis...but on special occasions, certain ceremonies it should be encouraged. It will help pass this skill of wearing Dhoti to the younger generation.
