Whoever edited this trailer did a masterful job. Even if you haven't seen all of his Superman films, this will still move you to tears, or atleast emotionally shake you. Marvelous job in creating this trailer.
@@dhrubochowdhury5315 Same here, I honestly haven't seen all of his Superman fils myself or any other film outside of Superman trilogy but he became immortal as Superman... watching the trailer alone made me tear up.
I guess Superman was popular way before my time. I haven't seen any movies with Reeve, only the ones with Henry Cavill. I've heard about them, though, and read about Reeve's story, but only briefly. The trailer got me emotional. I want to watch this doc now. I reposted the trailer to my friend, but he started telling me how much he dislikes the Superman character. Does that really matter? Bruh...

I remember the last scene from the first film when he patrolling earth, just before he flew away he looked straight into the camera and smiled, I thought he was doing to me and no one else, never forgot that, still in my memory to this day
The fact that Dana passed a couple of years later after Christopher tells you something about them... One simply can't live without the other. That's the ultimate love....
John Campea said that when they showed this at CinemaCon, everyone in the audience was crying. When the whole documentary movie was shown at Sundance, people were crying throughout the movie.
"People ask me how I found Christopher Reeve. I tell them I didn't find Christopher Reeve. God sent him to me." - Superman director Richard Donner He sent him to all of us, Mr. Donner. I've already purchased tickets for my son and I to watch this together. I'm fully prepared to ugly cry while sitting next to him, and I'm OK with that.
When I was a little boy in 1978, I found two heroes. I was 6 years old. There was Robin Williams as Mork on Happy Days and Mork and Mindy on TV. On the big screen, it was Christopher Reeve in Superman the Movie. Only later did I learn of their friendship and come to appreciate what they did as actors, entertainers, and human beings. I want to see this movie... RIP, Chris. RIP, Robin. We love and miss you both. Absent, but in memory (and on film), still bright!
Saw the full documentary on Saturday and was completely touched by the family's strength despite enduring life altering tragedies. Christopher and Dana are heroes!
Chris was my hero on and off screen, and in a bizarre twist of fate I had the same spinal injury as him three years after his accident. I got a letter from him whilst I was in hospital which has inspired me with hope ever since to believe that nothing was impossible. By the looks of this amazing trailer the documentary will show everyone how amazing he was.
Just saw it. 20 years I tried to shut out how bad my memory was of my hero falling to tragedy. I broke down bad in the movie theater, letting go of the negative, and being inspired by what he did after. It's a Oscar frontrunner, and more importantly, a subtle and powerful story that cannot be missed.
I love how he was able to show the difference between their two personalities with his body language and mannerisms. Christopher Reeve really understood that dynamic better than the other actors who've played that character.
After watching Deadpool and Wolverine. I'm convinced Henry Cavill would make a better Wolverine than Man of Steel. Sorry, Cavill fans. Christopher Reeve was GOAT Supes.

He's about to move out of state soon so i hope I'll be able to watch this with him before then, i think he'd really like it
Don't feel like the lone ranger I have called him Christopher reeves my whole life too and I'll be 50. And 1 of my favorite movies by him is the 1 you mentioned somewhere in time Absolutely loved him in that

that smile at the end of every movie, gosh it brought peace and hope to me. My first ever superhero.. and everytime i watch this trailer, i cry like a B RIP Christopher Reeve
I fell in love with him as Superman, but "Somewhere in Time" is such a wonderful film too. Over the years, it has gained a very devoted following. I remember that in one interview (done after he had been paralyzed for several years already), he mentioned that fact that when he filmed Somewhere In Time, he had thought at the time that the ending was very fanciful. To have the protaganist die and then rise up as a spirit and look down at his body as went to rejoin his love struck him as really stretching the audience's disbelief. But years later, (as I said, after he had been paralyzed), he had a life-threatening reaction to some medication they had given him, and he said he definitely experienced that exact sensation, feeling himself leave his body and gaze down on the people working on him for a period of time before finally returning to his body. I sometimes struggle with the belief of life after death, but I do want to think that he and Dana have been reunited after death.
It breaks my heart to watch the trailer, so I don't know if I could watch the movie... I love Christopher Reeve. It's so sad that his wife and Robin Williams also passed away...
I remember when the news broke about his accident. My mom told me. I cried and we stayed up watching all 4 Superman movies. My heart broke when he passed away.
Everything that happened to Christopher affected me greatly, as a superman fan. When he passed away in 04, I Was both sad and had a sense of happiness that he was no longer suffering nor restricted.
I still get a lot of tender feelings when I remember my first Superman and like everyone else, it's true that this great man Mr. Reeve... fought extremely hard and inspired many!!! THE BEST SUPERMAN 😍😍
I'm watching this crying - my mother met him when he was in rehab and she was working at the facility; she later became the President and CEO of his foundation and was there when he died and then a year later when his wife, Dana, died. I met him on several occasions as a young child, and he really was an inspiration. I think my parents might still have a framed picture of Christopher and Dana in their home.
Im literally crying after watching this🥹❤ This man right here truly was a *"Superman."* You can tell this film was made with genuine love and heart put into it. Im getting teary-eyed by just watching it. And then just 2 years after Reeve’s death, his wife died of cancer 😢 Chris Reeve will always be THE Superman. I’m so gonna see this documentary. Beautiful trailer 💙
Jaby!!! “Somewhere in Time” reference?! I LOVE that movie! I just found it on DVD in a 2nd hand shop. Also, this doc looks amazing. He did a Super Bowl ad that brings me to tears every time. 😢
This is something I’m willing to pay for and physically go to a theatre. I haven’t been since they started doing remakes left and right and I still refuse to go for that reason. But this, I’m already planning for.
I graw up watching Christopher Reeve Superman and was so in love with the character and the story. When he had that accident I was so crushed. But he was a hero, with another hero as his best friend. Love them both 💚
Oh my god: I'm crying just watching the trailer clips. How can I watch the whole documentary...?! I'll cheer when it clearly wins the Oscar for Best Doc....
This broke me too. Fact you had to clip out part of the video where Ochara was having somewhat of a breakdown with those emotions pouring out of her like that says it all. I grew up on him as Superman. Number 1. RIP 🙏🏾
I remember working at UVA , I saw his X-rays. As in a teaching hospital ( I worked in diagnostic Imaging) his case was a teaching case. How he even lived through that injury was a miracle.
I am British and two of Chris's children are British. He also lived in the uk for a while and filmed superman here so in an odd way i feel hornered that he is part of our lives too. Chris we miss you and we love you ❤😪
He even came back to the Superman universe in Smallville season 1 and 2. He was an amazing individual that just inspired so many, not just in his acting but in his personality and energy.
I can't wait to see this documentary even though I know I'm going to be a blubbering mess throughout it. Christopher Reeve was my first Superman. I've seen all four of the Superman movies he starred in. Even you really want to see what he could do beyond being a hero from Krypton, check out the movie "Noises Off." The man had comedy chops nobody talks about.
Even though he could no longer walk, his will to live inspired others to fly. On a side note, Richard Donnor co-wrote a Superman story where a Kryptonian boy somehow ended up on Earth and was found by Clark and Lois. They named him Chris.
Jaby - THANK YOU for reminding me of that other film title. I've been trying to remember it for weeks! The thing that gets me is that his youngest son (I think it was Will) was so young - not even a teenager - when he lost his dad, and then 1-2 years he lost his mum due to lung cancer. For that to happen to a kid at such a young age...so sad. And yes, Christopher Reeve IS Superman - no disrespect to other actors who have played him.
Reeve's widow, Dana Reeve, headed the Christopher Reeve Foundation after his death. Although a non-smoker, she was diagnosed with lung cancer on August 9, 2005. She died at age 44 on March 6, 2006..
To this point, I knew Reeve as Superman who had a horse riding accident and went paralysed... And that's it... Never heard anything else... But wow, would love to see full Documentary, with a box of tissues of course... 🥺🥰
There have been a few movies I always cry through. Chris Reeve did this movie "Somewhere In Time". When I watched it for the first time he had already passed, which made that movie a profound experience for me. I cannot resist that movie and I always ugly cry through it. A sure sobbing inducer. I am not sure I can watch this movie in public.
Superman is a symbol of hope which is why Christopher was and always will be seen as Superman because he gave so much hope to everyone even beyond his passing.
Somewhere in Time was great. :) Loved Superman as a kid. Superman 1 was the 1st movie I ever saw in a theater at 5yrs old, in Japan. Sean Connery is Indy's dad to me.
I'm from chile, and Christopher Reeve had in 87 a gesture worthy of the character he represented, that year he travelled to chile to support 77 actors threatened by the dictatorship of Pinochet, he came knowing the risk he was running, and it didn't matter, he had to do the right thing above all, worthy of Superman.
Christopher Reeves will always be Superman, no matter who comes along in the future. It's hard to believe it's coming up to 20 years since his passing, the years have gone by so quickly. A favourite film of his would be Somewhere in Time, no heroics, but a lovely film with Jane Seymour.
Not only was he the Superman of movies when I was a kid, his performance in the Michael Caine/Dyan Cannon version of "Deathtrap" really made a strong impression on me-that one is worth a watch if you haven't seen it yet.
You know that all theaters will have tissues nearby when Christopher Reeve's story released...... Like Robin, Christopher's impression of their former housemaster of Julliard, John Houseman is spot on! Tough part is when Dana and Christopher's kids now grown-up talk about him very emotional!
Certainly it's not surprising that most of Reeve's fans would firstly recognize him for his Superman roles but I remember him for quite a number of other projects he was apart of that showed how much of a talented actor he was; for instance I can recollect Christopher starring in John Carpenter's Village of the Damned, the film Street Smart that he did with Morgan Freeman that flys under the radar with a lot of people, and the movie my mother introduced me to which was a favorite of hers called Somewhere In Time.
It's even more heartbreaking when you read about Dana, who died less than 2 years after Christopher from lung cancer. Their story is one for all time. ❤
Yeah, I saw this trailer yesterday for the first time with an Heroes Reforged reaction. It destroyed me, no wrecked me, DESTROYED me And now I'm crying again 😭
He was so good-looking and fun loving. In one of his first interviews, I think on Larry King Live, after his accident he answered a question about what happened to him with this (paraphrased) "Some people fall out of a window on the sixth floor and only have a few scratches. Others trip over their shoe laces and have a fatal fall." His and Robin Willams' friendship was everything the definition of friendship should be. That was not the actual footage of his near fatal accident. Apparently he fell straight on the top of his head and his first 2 vertebrae were crushed by the weight of his entire body. Basically his injury could be compared to being decapitated because his skull was no longer attached to (the rest of) his spine, but was only attached to the rest of his body by skin, veins, arteries, muscles and nerves. You can hear him tell it in his own words here th-cam.com/video/gXYFJe2yU3M/w-d-xo.html It's a miracle he survived at all.
Whoever edited this trailer did a masterful job. Even if you haven't seen all of his Superman films, this will still move you to tears, or atleast emotionally shake you. Marvelous job in creating this trailer.
I can vouch for that
