I have IPad 4 generation, with same problem. I changed the WIFI chip and still the wifi does not power on.

If anyone is interested the melting temperature of solder is between 180-210 degrees celsius. That's roughly 400 degrees fahrenheit. The flux used is a mild acid that cleans the surface of any corrosion. A lemons juice can also be used (old school fix), its slightly less acidic. Typically, you would have to clean off the flux after soldering since it is an acid. Curious to see how long it will last.. When your caught between a rock and a hard place, well this person saved someones bacon!
