      Often people only have a mathematical understanding of tests like ANOVA which makes it difficult for them to explain it. I have taught this for many years, which has helped deepen my understanding of the topic and what people find difficult.

    Your channel is soooo helpful! Truly thank you! It’s very rare for people to be this good at explaining things; your teaching methods are absolutely wonderful!!!
    Question: if we are dealing with a lot of data where we need to score scale results for analyzing our study data; will we mainly just use one type of test (I.e. Test of means, difference between proportions, Chi-square, etc.) OR with taking data from scales is it more about asking the right questions about what is being measured, what the categories are, how many categories are there, et cerera and you just have to ask these questions to yourself in order to determine what kind of analysis to run for each and every question type from the scale that you are attempting to code for??

    • @DrNic
      @DrNic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm happy you find my channel helpful. I'm afraid I don't understand your question. In some studies people do just one type of test, but in other studies different methods are used.

    Hello dear Dr. Nic
    I was talking to my friend about regression and hidden variables when an image crossed my mind.
    I saw in that image that if we could add time to regression models, we could think of something beyond hidden variables, and that could be hidden mechanisms.
    That is, with a series of statistical tests on the chronology of the presence of variables, we discover a hidden mechanism that occurs behind the scenes and leads to the production of data that we observe.
    For example, in the case of crime, if we discover the hidden mechanisms that cause them to occur, we can obtain levers to control them in order to reduce them.
    Do you have an idea to test hypotheses about the chronology of the presence of variables?
    It seems that the questionnaires and data models that are collected should also be specific and new fields should be seen in them.
    We may have to discover new distributions for probability.
    I have always learned new things from your videos and thank you. Be happy and victorious.
    Yours sincerely: Javad Ghaffarian Jomepour🌹

    • @DrNic
      @DrNic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting thoughts. Time series data is a whole new can of worms. One of the assumptions of regression is that the errors are independent of each other. However when you include sequential data that can violate that assumption. Keep on studying and thinking!
