today i blab to you some thoughts and theories regarding the masters of the kingdom hearts series. i loved putting this one together, and i'd love to hear what you think about it?

@@JabamiLaini think Yoda in the sequels was one of the few characters the sequels did 100% perfectly.
I personally think the saga of Sora, Riku and Kairi is the fundamental shift keyblade society needs.
Sora and Riku are self-taught. They weren’t raised by Masters at all. Sora gets his information from the Final Fantasy crew, who in turn only know about the legends and none of the specifics. Riku got his knowledge from Maleficent or from watching Sora kick his butt to Kingdom Hearts and back.
The two of them are also why Mickey ends up changing his mind about the dark. Sora being the key to everyone else means his influence and example is such that whatever Terra, Aqua and Ventus thought they knew has been disproven. Roxas, Xion and Axel also have to figure things out themselves and all they’ve got to work with is Sora.
Sora may never have been meant to wield a keyblade but he definitely was the one who changed the course of keyblade history and may be the catalyst for a new generation.
Riku becoming a master was already a huge shift from the status quo if we’re being honest. Yen Sid being the one to grant Riku the title has a lot of more layers now when you take the failings of Keyblade society into account.

Also, Riku is the only young adult who ACTUALLY grew up. Aqua was graduated out of childhood only for it to seem like she wasn’t ready. Eraqus and Xehanort were off screen when they reached that point in their lives. The MoM, Luxu, The Foretellers, Odin, and Yen Sid were already adults when we first saw them

Let's not forget Mickey almost abandoned his role as a keyblade wielder cause he failed to protect ventus aqua and terra at the end of bbs during the credits
Yeah, I 'd cut Yensid some slack considering he's even older than Xehanort, who was already worried he might croak at any moment.

I like this idea, that the masters themselves are not only blinded by their own sins but who taught them. Sad yiu didn't bring up the mouse because he is a master too

I am not going to go on a Mikey bad rant but all I could say is Mikey only helped out after goofy got hit by a boldore after demyx and with Riku in castle oblivion when we see in game before the second keyblade war. He took on the mysterious aspect of Yen Sif

Thing about Eraqus is that the whole time Terra was Grand Theft-Me'd he spent that whole time protecting Terra and was still with him til the end of the "seekers" arc when he got reunited with Xehanort was able to go properly. So even though he was gone he kept the person who took his life safe. I wonder if he realized that Terra (before being taken) actually meant well and had regrets about how he treated him in BBS due to Terra failing the exam...Terra inadvertently protected one of the people who mattered.
His soul/spirit was the one that got Xehanort to give up the X-Blade at the end.
When all is said and done, Keyblade Masters is just a title. Eraqus, Xehanort and Aqua, EVEN Riku, are all normal people who make normal and foolish mistakes.

Yen Sid is very interesting to me because it looks to me that while he is a Master, he doesn't like being one, sure, he trained Mickey but we have never seen him even wild a keyblade, not even when he goes to the graveyard, to me, Yen Sid decided that life wasn't for him and choose to focus on his magical abilities. Plus the fact that he is older than Eraqus and Xehanort yet he lacks less knowledge than them when it comes to the keyblade and other stuff about the past, Yen Sid tries to divert from that path and yet in the end unfortunately during the exam for Riku and Sora he ended up making the same mistake.
But he still makes an active effort to correct it, rather than try to make excuses like for example Eraqus, for me Yen Sid knows that the system is inherently flawed and not knowing how to fix it he decided to stray from it.
I hate to make Star Wars comparisons, but this is definitely a pre third movie Jedi temple situation where it was the doctrine and traditions that kept the likes of Yoda and Mace Windu from seeing Palpatine’s ambitions. Yensid falls into the camp of grey Jedi, a fan concept that, while not canon, does have a few canon characters that embody the idea of those that walk the good path but don’t necessarily follow the standard. A good example is Bendu, a force entity that is truly neutral, but more inclined to help those with good intent. Plus, I think the old master does know more. At the end of melody of memory, Yensid sends Mickey to the last place one would expect: Scala Ad Caelum. While it is where Xehanort and Eraqus grew up, it’s clear that the world supposedly no longer exists, likely destroyed during dark road. As this world is connected to Daybreak town from union, which was the setting of the key blade war, Yensid clearly knows something, or, perhaps, has begun to remember something.
Why, you ask? My theory is ✨️trauma✨️
Notice how the faults of the masters are also very adult flaws. MoM the ultimate jaded war vet a little TOO ready to make sacrifices combined with agendas within agendas. He’s the perfect example of what an overly serious life does to one’s personality and beliefs…and we still haven’t seen his character development yet. Aqua is me and many others after high school graduation. Not as ready for the real world as her status told her to believe. Eraqus is the embodiment of every failed altruist in his final moments. His intentions, though pure, were focused poorly. Xehanort is the man who feels himself in control of his darker half when it’s actually that he became one with it (and in the worst way).
Simply, no one is perfect and there is darkness in every heart, and it is up to one to keep that darkness sufficiently in check. And with darkness within the heart comes dark inclinations, there are those who desire absolute power and control for a plethora of reasons, for wanting everything for themselves, for absolute destruction and desolation, for creating a new world, maintaining peace & order, or to try and dictate their destiny & the destiny of The World.
Darkness within the heart is where it all stems. What Xehanort says "Darkness sprouts within it, grows, consumes it. Such is it's nature" is unfortunately pretty true.
Which is why there is always a constant cycle of conflict & war between the Light and the Darkness throughout all of history since the beginning.
That is an Elegant piece of art of The Master & the Foretellers.

Hm, what a very interesting Theory, honestly while we don’t know for certain, based on what we’ve seen from the Master of Masters and how he is portrayed so far, I wouldn’t too surprised if this Theory turned out to be correct or at least very accurate, you did very well with this Video, good job.
Also, i really like the thought of Xehanort ending up outsmarting MoM, ‘cause as far as I am concerned, if there’s any who would be smart enough to do that it’s Xehanort, ‘cause that’s the impression of how smart Xehanort is that I got.

I think the whole title of keyblade master weird, because the current masters know only as much as the dandelions who were the only survivors of the keyblade war, who thenselves basicaly only knew how to gather lux for their unions, but great video really enjoyed watching
Yen Sid should've sacrificed himself in the KH3 Keyblade War but Disney are cowards WHOOPS haha sorry dropped my good take
how else will he enjoy margaritas at a disney holiday resort while these kids fight wars 😔
I'd honestly cut the guy some slack, he's much older than the keyblader who is so concerned about dying to old age that he stole a boy's body; in all likelihood fighting like the rest of the guardians would give the old man a heart attack.

only master who we cant really say has fucked up one of his choice so far is Riku i think. atleast ever since he became a master he has definetly done well.
I think that's because aside from Aqua, who was only recovered after the fact, Riku was ordained a Master by Yen Sid because he had successfully demonstrated that not only can Darkness and Light be wielded together, they SHOULD BE. He demonstrated a mastery of the heart that even the great Masters failed to, which ultimately resulted in their downfall.
I think in the context of how the Master of Masters is shown to operate, we should be suspicious of the title of Keyblade Master in the first place. Why are powerful Keyblade wielders encouraged to put themselves up on a pedestal and adopt a fancy title? I think it's because it makes them prideful, and the Master of Masters gets what he wants by appealing to the arrogance in his victims, by telling them that they know best and they should follow their hearts. The institution exists to give him control over every generation of Keyblade wielders by priming them to believe in themselves beyond what's reasonable.
I argue that the problem with these masters related to their eyes being drawn towars an absolute result of defending their beliefs and what mattered to them, to the point of dealing with any situation without enough flexibility, which is what the current heroes had tried doing, taking important steps towards facing the war against Xehanort while recognizing their mistakes along the way, thus getting to grow to understand the world better. Sora had traveled to many worlds and got to meet up with many people, learning and forging, while losing certain things too, leading up to finding a bit of balance between simpler (light) and complex (dark) things.

Yen Sid is the greatest Keyblade Master.
Considering the fact the eye on No Name is the Master of Master's eye bringing all it's seen throughout time to it's master in the past, it's totally possible for him to be playing the Super Long Game here.

I don’t think Aqua would make the same mistake as Eraqus did, she learns that Light and Darkness should co exist and you can’t have one without the other.
I feel like people like to talk about darkness before they actually think about its use.

We need a player character who ISN’T a keywielder; someone whose perspective isn’t affected by the Key Ideals and can point out the flaws without being biased.
Agreed. We need someone who understands that darkness is a natural part of the universe, that without darkness light cannot exist.
Completely impossible and pointless.
This is sort of like the Jedi Order from Star Wars.
Except without the child stealing. That we're aware of at least.
As we all know, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering. Most masters seem to have a fear of the dark and end up causing themselves and others to suffer. The last batch of masters, Sora included, break this and lean more into a gray area.
At least Xehanort's sins led somewhere productive. Guess demons are more productive than humans. It's sad, but true.

Didn't like Aqua's character that much in BBS since she was half of a hypocrite but i know she wanted things that are right but the fact she just condemned terra about him using darkness or what not
She was basically Eraqus' lapdog
BUT
After watching Dark Road and Frahmentary Passage
I just realized that the absolute dogmatic ideology of Scala ad Caelum about the Light pretty much engraved their minds and darkness should be condemned.
Also the fact that Eraqus' trauma from Baldr killing his friends.
As for Mickey...he allowed Riku to corrupt himself by staying with DiZ. See no reason to cut him some slack like people are suggesting. Same goes for Yen Sid.
I prefer the version of events from "The Twilight Will". Seeing Roxas and HIS friends learn by themselves, instead of being used by these creepy old men and women... Now that's steping into the light.
Eraqus was a terrible master Aqua wasn't necessarily a great master but hopefully she won't make the same mistakes as Eraqus Xahanort and Odin were misguided masters
