ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

That’s Mike Patton for ya
@sinkingships offools This made me laugh. :P
Ya I am not going to mention the incident because I think mike is incredibly talented. And he has turned his life around
"I like you a lot Michael" :)
One of the fascinatingest.
Jim Fixx please explain..
I love Mike Patton. That dude was doin all that stuff way before anyone dared to even consider it. His opening here rules.
Usually I like a lineup for what it is and any modification just isn't the same. BUT!....anything Mike touches is pure gold. Phontomos, Peeping Tom, FNM, Mr Bungle, his cameo on Handsome Boy Modeling School. All just the best. 🤘
who else does anything even similar after? There's just Bruce Dickinson and a couple of others
Mike Patton was always light years ahead of everything everyone he just sees what few can see true inspiration is Mike Patton
Hello Josh, you're the best drummer on TH-cam, very cool seeing you on a Mike Patton video!
Thanks! @@raidensnake9471016
The album "Angel dust" is a masterpiece !!
One of the most under-appreciated albums ever!
@@bootysmaka22 it was voted the most influential album of all time, flawless album
@@JohnMccann-ld3yr it is! So many bands have "borrowed" from Angel Dust, and FNM as a whole, it's amazing. Hell, Mushroomhead made a whole career of trying to imitate the sound of this album alone!

Angel Dust, King for a Day, and Album of the Year are all masterpieces.
This is surface level Mike Patton.
The next step is listening to Mr Bungle or Tomahawk
Within a month you'll be on to his Italian 60's jazz orchestra stuff
it's exactly what happened to me lmao
slade bonge YES! That was phenomenal!
Definatly a rabbit hole if you jump in...found Mr Bungle and it just got weird from there lol
Haha she actually went italian 60's jazz orchestra stuff when she reacted to his "Singing Compilation" just a few month after this video 😂
Don't forget Lovage, songs to make love to your old lady by.
Being a vocal coach... I’m amazed you’ve never heard of Mike Patton 😳
He’s a living legend and the Man of a thousand voices!
Alabamboa 81 most paid youtubers never heard of mike Patton. But thanks for pointing that out.
@@msv9637 most paid you tubers are not vocal coaches. Mike has a vocal range of 6 octaves and is the biggest range in pop music. Thats like saying I’m a guitar coach and I’ve never heard of Jimi Hendrix.
Not everyone lived under the same rock as the ones who've never heard of other artists from a different genre. I doubt most millennials even know FNM or Patton (and they're probably in their 20's too). We could have all these 'legends' and unless they're still relevant, they're likely to fall out of the present radar unless the older gen makes them known again.
I imagine that this is why she does this channel. Think of all the people she gets exposed to that she wouldn’t have. I’m getting exposed to what feels like a band a day. It’s amazing
but come on, sooner or later a FNM song happens on the radio, don't you wonder who the hell this voice is from? mah
Mike Patton and Faith No More are the greatest band ever to miss the spotlight of ordinary, or common people.
god this is the truest
back in the 90s FNM were pretty fucking big. I mean they were constantly on MTV when MTV was about music.
FNM and Living Color
They call Mike Patton "The Man with a 1,000 voices". He has performed in operas and is also known for adding his voice to movies such as'I Am Legend'.
Narrated the movie "Bunraku", guest performances w/ Sepultura. Truly amazing.
And Firecracker which was made In my booty ass hometown of Wamego, KS.
And also monster voices in games Left4Dead and The Darkness.
Patton's has scored two films as well
Also sang backup on a Björk album!
Holy shit, never clicked on anything so quick. Mike Patton is incomparable...to anyone
I wouldn't quite say that.
@@danielleforet8057 I would.
A certain few rock singers can reach his level. He's a god in rock singing. Their better singers but he's one of the best in rock music.
@@sussychachiHe is one of the best. But, my personal favorite is Devin Townsend.
@@alistairclifton1286 so would I by a mile
I sometimes ask myself when Patton will finally get the recognition he deserves. He is, without a doubt, one of the best vocalists of all time, yet somehow the mainstream or the canon of music culture never fully embraced him. This is a man who created Fantomas' suspended animation and sang in Mondo Cane. Who else has this range? Nobody.
F#%k the mainstream. You think Mike gives a single little piece of his faeces about mainstream? He is absolutely free to do whatever he wants as an artist, he's having a huge number of devoted fans, each thing made by him is pure phenomenon. Would you give a f@*k in his shoes?
He is not with mainstream cause that is what he chose to do, he chose to not sell out to the masses of mainstream success, FNM became successful after TRT then they created AD and they were told they committed commercial suicide. he even changed his look after the pretty boy era of TRT cause he refused to be the poster child for MTV.
THE best
W. Axl Rose had amazing range.
He,Dickinson and Cornell are the best I ever heard
"A facinating Creature" that's a perfect way of explaining Mike Patton. A vocalist who can sing in any style
This is pretty much the tame, restrained, mid-range tip of the massive Mike Patton iceberg. I hope you drill deeper.

This is a compilation that kiiiiiiiiiind of scratches the surface... kiiiiiind of.... but you are talking about a dude who has probably recorded around a thousand different songs with god knows how many bands in pretty much every style imaginable, and that would be to ignore all the live covers and one off improvisational concerts he has done as well. I could give you a song a day for a month and still have to say "scratching the surface".

Their version of The Commodores' "Easy" is sublime. ♥️

"Easy" is good, but their cover of "I Started a Joke" by the Bee Gees is even better. it was almost as if they took a "What would it sound like if David Bowie covered it" approach.

Please react to more Mike Patton! Check out him in Mondo Cane, a solo album which he covers classics italian pop songs from the 60s. Theres a whole pro-shot recorded show from that project on TH-cam. He is amazing and has a 6 octave range. He is also known as the man of thousand voices :)

I think what astounds all of us is the fact that mike can go from his distorted, guttural voice to screaming and back to his clean singing voice with the snap of a finger! Truly a man of many voices.
He did the voices for the creatures in "I am Legend". Some of his songs like "evidence" sound like two or three different people singing them.
And he voiced the darkness in the video game "The Darkness"
yea he needed to do a bloodbath album after Micheal left.
the moment when you discover Mike Patton, YOUR LIFE CHANGE FOREVER
PT S I remember making that face when Mike Patton first blew my mind as well!
You're right about him being a fascinating person. He's performed metal, rock, jazz, opera... pretty much everything. I could be wrong but I think he plays just about every instrument available. He's one of those rare creatures who seems to have found fame through Faith No More but is a genuinely talented and interesting artistic soul, not just a front man for a band (or ten). He's also a little... eccentric, which makes for an awesomely interesting mix :)
Bit of a jerk too, all the signs of a genius lol
Rebecca if this is the first time you heard Patton... Welcome to the club. You'll be listening to him more. Mike Patton is the hardest working and most creative singer and artist in the industry.
Your profile pic reminded me, "Carry Stress in the Jaw" would be a fun reaction
That's EXACTLY how I felt when I heard him the first time. I was addicted from the first time I listened to this song some decades ago. Thx Mike, thx forever!!!
Dude has actually won awards in voice-over work as several villains in the video game series, The Darkness.
Townsend cites him as a Major influence.
Frollickinginthemist foralleternity yeah I know.

He acts extra goofy on tv late night shows , he spazzes out a bit for fun , he has some great collaborations with other artists and is in about 10 other bands , he made it cool to mix styles in 1990 when he first started singing with faith no more , listen to Mr Bungle his experimental band that was insane
Please don't use the phrase "spazzes out". "Spaz" is a derogatory, disablist term for someone who has Cerebral Palsy.
@@ChrisPage68 #triggered 😂 It's only a word guy...lighten up
He definitely "spazzed" on late night appearances, back in the day.
Largely because he resented the network's overbearing imperatives placed upon them. The most memorable one being when a British tv appearance forced lip-syncing on him, and he (rightfully) went complete payback mode, brilliantly. The footage is easily available of that one, but he always acted extra goofy on these tv one-shots. Generally anti-establishment music-wise since the beginning.
Rebecca I love how you get into the music and feel it, you would be an absolute blast to take to a show. MP is one of the most overlooked singer in the rock world imo. Btw your sooooooo beautiful!!!
Hearing this song foe the first time at 14, it all made total sense. But i was a FnM fan already, so I fully expected to get run over, helped back up, punched in the face, then offerd a cold pack for my fat lip.. Good pipes pn you, too, Ma'am!
Probably the most versatile singer nowadays. Probably one of the most technical singers. He can sing laid down with the head down, he can sing with the micro inside his mouth, he can sing on tune in any position, in any style.
I would love to see a duo between Devin Townsend and Mike Patton.
Check Fantomas... M Patton going crazy on this project.
Patton and Townsend, just wow. I don't know if the world could handle the end result. It would either be a studio disaster and they would kill each other, or they would create a song that would bring about world peace though fear.
He is a phenomenal vocalist.
One of the most versatile.
Greatest vocalist alive, no question, hands down, anyone proffessional will happily admit Patton as the best
after chris cornell died , yes. he's now no. 1 alive.
Hmm voice teachers would disagree though. He has a massive range, is extremely versatile, but his technique isn't the best..
I love seeing these vocal coaches just falling in love with his voice. The man is a freak of nature
Mike Patton is an amazing frontman. I saw them open for Soundgarden & Guns 'n Roses in '92 in Stuttgart. Whipped the crowd up to the point that crazy ass drunken Germans were climbing the light poles.
A vocal coach reacting to the one and only Mike Patton. What a time to be alive.....btw Patton did all the creature voices in the movie I Am Legend. He’s an interesting vocalist for sure.
The Kate bush comparison is pretty on point. Mike would total accept that as a compliment.

Back in the day....as in, when people started listening to Faith No More, they were shocked, blown-away, disgusted, surprised (insert description here) about Patton and his voice, especially the eclectic style FNM had at the time compared to "metal" or "rock" if you will. I always liked that song, but I didn't truly appreciate it until I spent a good amount of time on singing and recording vocals. It is, indeed, insane.
Stumbled upon his page on accident and I'm loving you're descriptions of the vocals and how they relate to the lyrics and just how you're able to specifically microscopically describe the textures of the voices.
