Nice interview, Skavlan. The delicate handling of mental health is particularly well done as the responses show. Bruce is one of the truly honest and open stars in the entertainment world. He's emptied himself countless times to give what he could to others. A poet and sage without pretense and a world treasure, as both Swedes and Americans have long known.
I've found Bruce's music relatively late in life (mid 40s). What a discography. I grew up with 90s indie and grunge and always had mistakenly lumped him in with the worst cornball excesses of the 80s. He was like Bon Jovi or something to me. Only now do I realise he was anything but that, and in the last year have come to regard him as one of the great songwriters of our time.
The sorrow is you missed him over the years and seeing the phenomenal 3.5 hour shows he did. He’s still great to see now, but each decade back was better than the one before. It’s a magical, ground shaking shows now but words can’t even begin to recapture the earlier decades. I’ve experienced the same with a few bands I didn’t give enough credit to at the time they were at their peak.

I was lucky enough to see Brice Springsteen play once. It was a great mid size venue and he played for quite a while. One thing that comes out more in these corona times is how very different it is for everybody. Abs for those suffering it really does rub it in. Interviews now often show these people at home in great environments and they often describe how good their setup and their life is. and it's hard being reminded when your on a difficult setup and a very dark place.

I have seen Bruce in concert 3 times and you really get your moneys worth with him. He's a lovely guy and I'm sure he has helped many people by admitting he suffers with depression I suffer depression. It comes and goes. I was once put on some anti depressants that made me worse. But I'm now on some that really help. I worry about elderly people during this Covid pandemic. Depression is becoming more prevalent among everybody, but especially elderly people that live alone. So if anyone reads this, maybe you know an elderly person that lives alone or anybody who lives alone, and maybe ask if there's anything they need. Even if it's a chat at a distance. That can make all the difference to someone's day. And I hope Trump doesn't get in again. But I've a funny feeling he will.

The moment I heard Born to run I was in love with his music, being Belgian I had the incredible luck to see him live twice, they will forever be highlights in my life.
Bruce’s birthday is the same as my late father, so easy to remember.... being a few years younger than he is he is a part of my life with songs that make me so emotional in a good way, he touches me in the right part of my heart. I am reading the book Born to run at the moment, love the way he lets me in his life wherefore thanks Bruce. Be safe, stay healthy, bless you and all your loved ones.
Love, Paula Oyen.
Great interview. Mr. Springsteen is so genuine.
This Jersey girl has been “riding on the backstreets” with BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE for a long long time! Xooxoxoox Commanding love and respect for his artistry, humility, and humanitarian blessings to us all!! Whoohooo!!!!!Xooxoxo

Hello Angela
How’re you doing?
Thanks for all your love and support, also for being an amazing fan.
It’s nice meeting you here ❤
You are a real tonic Bruce. So many folks mental health has declined during Covid. Every day we seem to read of some pour souls who have not survived their demons .
Your music gives us good mental health!! It is therapeutic!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Some of his songs have gotten me through some very tough times.
Brilliant interview, so honest on every question ❤
I was lucky enough to see Brice Springsteen play once. It was a great mid size venue and he played for quite a while.
One thing that comes out more in these corona times is how very different it is for everybody. Abs for those suffering it really does rub it in.
Interviews now often show these people at home in great environments and they often describe how good their setup and their life is.
and it's hard being reminded when your on a difficult setup and a very dark place.
What a healthy relationship he has with his children.
Bruce is a very royal family man i love bruce 💙 ann ffrench wexford ireland
The more I listen to Bruce the more I like him. He looks fantastic for a man in his 70s he looks like early 50s. Good onya Bruce

Thank you. Great interview, Not sure why, but it took me a while to like Bruce Springsteen early in his career, but I have enjoyed his music for quite a while now. A great musician and a great man.
What a great, humble, honest man! Very wise too!
I have loved this man since I was a teen. His ups and downs never deterred me. That love of this man remains. I too am in my 70s Still in love. I to am an Irish /Catholic Bruce you are awesome 👏
He cherishes his beloved New Jersey . Love that!
👍🏾
I had the pleasure of seeing Bruce live in Cape Town South Africa a few years ago. Some of my favorites are Glory Days and Tougher than the rest. Keep it up Bruce. Ps. Bruce you still got “IT”
Bruce looks solid for 70...my city of ruins made me a fan ...couldn't get into bruce as a young man but just now discovering his catalogue as a grown man and discovering some great songs ....Bruce is the man..I love that he has always been sober and positive too ❤️
Excellent interview. Appreciate the honesty towards mental health and that no one is immune. True role model on marriage / relationship, etc.
Keep on rocking Bruce 💖🐦🎸🎶
Luckily my best friend from high school and I still have a great relationship. It’s a beautiful thing.
How are you doing today Penne? It's really nice having you on here...I saw your profile on here and i think we definitely are on the same page on many Levels. Trust, Communication, Loving, God fearing, Honoring, Understanding, Patience and Respecting Your Partner, So crucial to provide balance.
I’m proud of tackling my mental health too, but not quite on top of it.
Getting there though
Great interview!
Bruce is always a joy to listen to.
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
I don’t agree with his politics but I love his music! Thanks Bruce.
Saw Bruce maybe 15 yrs ago? I still remember the feeling of just joy and laughter and being unable to sit in my chair. Best concert of them all. He’s. Master musician and musical entertainer...A real person, even if all the characters were made up! 😂
Now 70s....And looks like hes 50!! Top bloke
Life attitude is everything.
@@SophieBird07 Plastic surgery doesn't hurt either.
He has had plastic surgery and he did have a hair transplant back in 2005 or so. I was at a concert in 2013 and I was close enough to touch him. It was obvious that he has had work done. But I love the guy.
@@colinmurphy3478 no amount of plastic surgery will help with longevity. Performing is seriously harsh work. You need a good degree of fitness.. so good on him.
He looks really good for 70. I am sure that maintaining a healthy weight has helped a lot.
All your fans in Australia love you and miss you too Bruce..
You held my hand at one of you concerts once and I think of that moment in time ,often .
Hope we get to see you back here soon xxx
WOW man does he look great. I would have taken him for 50ish.
He looks a lot like my moms boyfriend that used to rough her up when I was small..
I think a few surgeries have helped along the way !
I’m happy with that. He is such a nice guy.
Again a wonderful interview of a wonderful person. Congrats Fredrik Skavlan. Fantastisk!
Thank you so much, Jan! We're thrilled to hear that you appreciate our interviews!
With his easy going style and intelligent questions would love to see Skavlan interviewing Bob Dylan too.
Can’t see the Bobness interviewing unless for a very specific reason !
GBH for even talkin bout it publicly...takes a lot of guts...cant be easy..
I love his honesty.
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
Excellent interview! Thank you, Bruce, for all and everything! Lifetime fan xox 😉💜👍🇨🇦
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
I was in a mental hospital and didn’t have any contact because i didn’t have a mobile at my very worst i managed to get hold of a phone and listened to the boss i’m 35 and suffer daily but he’s helped i wish i could get funding for mobiles to get people mobiles in these places as everyone needs a support network
What a brilliant interview. Direct questions delivered with care. Brilliant stuff.
Fantastic Bruce...to keep your integrity and humour, with such
unforgiving questioning is👍
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
Again my main men Mr Skavlan and Mr Norton, 2 best in the game, Thank you for this Fredrik, Hope you are well Good Sir.
Peace and Love from Ireland
Thank you so much for watching us from Ireland, we love that!
why do i only see Skav on youtube?!?! this show should be everywhere, where it's English speaking... he has a way with his guests... an he's good!!! i watch him a LOT!...
Great interview. Bruce is timeless and Skavlan..... I very much enjoy your interview style.
Thank you so much, Shari!
I have seen Bruce in concert 3 times and you really get your moneys worth with him. He's a lovely guy and I'm sure he has helped many people by admitting he suffers with depression
I suffer depression.
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
This is a great time having Bruce Springsteen( the boss) on your show today , and to Mr.Springsteen !! More power to you Bruce and i love you boss and that is why my closses dog named golden bruce, its how i can be beside with the BOSS all the time .God bless you , and good luck to you're show
i saw Bruce at Wembley London in the mid 80s, even named my cat Brucie. Hungry Heart got me into his music. But i love The River and the story he tells before it. Still love his music. and his background. We love you in the UK Bruce.
And my love for you Mr Springsteen 😘, you’re my idol back on the 80’s
Hey🌹all love and how are you doing today?
god he's deep isn't he? could listen to him all day
I'm almost the same age with a totally different life but I can relate to much of what he says about funerals, family, working from home and death. He's still a working class hero. And another very engaging interview. You have a knack of getting people comfortable and they open up. Best interviewer since Parky - well you and Andrew Denton.
Thank you so much, Bill! We appreciate it!
Bruce Springsteen .Love thé Way you are.Gbu and family.Great interview.
just great and honest .... yes Bruce ... that's you ... good luck ...💯🙏
RE.MH issues - he's a @#$ing legend for fronting like that, truly inspiring, thank you so much. Would be so easy for him to be self-satisfied and he just isn't at all. That is a real man
The interviewer was very polite and informed, respectful and professional.
Always related with THE BOSS. When The River was released my first Bi-Polar episode took me out of the fray… battling mental illness issues is to make the strong Stonger. The ones that succumb we will be there for them on the other side. We are blessed, go in peas always Luv
I've seen a lot of concerts, 2 of the Boss's. He is a true show man. There are 2 classy men that can command a crowd like no one else, the late Frank Sinatra and Bruce Springsteen.
Lucky Ducks 🦆
Truly talented and so classy and young no matter the age!!! Love Bruce🔥
