So sad. I keep my house spotless and have a beautiful garden but my adult children are only interested in money and with online banking they don't even have to come in person to get it. The few nice things I have I keep polished , the silver polished even though no one comes to dinner, plants everywhere. When I die it will just get all rifled through and tossed around looking for money. I have decided I need to move to a poor country where my money, as small as it is, can do some good to a poor village. I would rather give it to people who would appreciate it, and who know what real suffering is, as I do. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust at the end.

Heather, I am so sad, as well to see how you know the pain of selfish children as many of us do. I agree with your plans. Better to give a little to those who will appreciate your kindness. It will give you the most joy.

Heather, its time to let your children know how you feel and hold nothing back. Adult children are busy though no excuse not to visit. No visit ...no money simply put these children need to understand you gave them life and they need to appreciate you more. My daughter doesn't call often, but when she does she thanks me always for giving her life, and I let her know how I am feeling and when I feel neglected speak up honey, your children need to know how you feel.

Many people, as they age tend to effectively use less and less of their home. They lack the strength and mobility to keep it all clean and neat. The parts they still actively use are the spaces that remain uncluttered and relatively neat. Thank you for sharing this home with us.🖤🇨🇦

Here in north carolina, U.S.A., we call that plant the silver dollar or money plant. What you see are seed pods. They have a lot of small purplish blooms. If some of those you're looking at are a dull grey/brown just rub it gently between your finger and thumb. The outside will peel off and leave the silvery one that is so beautiful in arrangements.

I agree, it looks like certain rooms were just ransacked. For the other rooms to be so clean I think it's someone looking for specific things. Maybe someone who knew where or what rooms she would have kept things of value or money. She may have kept money in the home more than a bank for convenience.

That dry plant with the silvery round discs is called Lunaria Biennis. AKA Money Plant, Silver Dollar Plant, Honesty, Moonwort or Flower Seed. Very easy to grow. The seeds are in the silvery discs. Outside, when the wind blows the silvery discs off, the plant re-seeds itself. We called it Money plant and grew a few plants in out New England garden.

Hi Lesley plus good evening, from a rather chilly Dorset.
I look forward so much to watching you, on your journeys to people's homes. Love the stately homes.
This viewing, lots of dry rot. Especially the woodwork in the lounge. Great for closeups on photography.
To see how 17 years has dried out the wood. From lack of airing. The Madame of the house definitely liked wallpaper especially the bedroom. Would I want to wakeup to that every morning. Loved how the cobweb in the middle of the hallway. Left a long Web. Loved the music of the guitar. Could listen to the Classic romantic mystic melody. But very interesting Leslie. See you next week. Enjoy, start safe always. ❤️🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔💕🔔🎼🌍🌎🌏🌐

Yes. Also, when people age and become sickly, they develop mobility issues, and sometimes dementia. My sister is young and sickly, but still has healthier phases to balance out the not-so-healthy times. Her place gets pretty messy when she's in too much pain to stand for long periods of time. But she has friends and family who help her clean 2 or 3 times each year. It must be horrible for these elderly people all addled and dying in a messy house with nobody to help them take care of themselves through their final year(s) of life.

Those antique toys! Much older, at least by 100 years, in comparison to the rest of the contents with exception of the hidden room furniture, that is.

The dried plants are called money plant. People dry them because they look good in dried flower arrangements.

The plant is a money tree . You’ve got a new subscriber in me👍, glad your channel showed up in my feed. I like how you try to show as much about the people who lived in the house, as the house itself .

Hello, I'm verily new to your channel and I'm enjoying it very much. I would like to add that I do hope that you consider (when finding a mess) its not how the person chose to live, but rather that they have suffered a loss, gone through trauma or are in depression. I can attest to this, for I have gone through it myself and am now living on the other side. Please remember its not something someone chooses
