You speak in the perfect tone of voice, almost as if the family were still around, sleeping perhaps. This conveys to me a very special kind of empathy, a dignity that you show freely to the ones who have left this world and gone onto the next. Thank you for your quiet sensitivity and above all, your obvious respect for the departed. There aren't many young people around like you anymore. ❤

Boy, what a story this house told, and you did it beautifully. We lost two kids. One was six months old, and the other was 44 in 2013. It is hard to lose a child. We raised her three kids; my husband and I have been married 55 years and have lived in our home for 35 years now. I often wonder what will happen to our stuff when we die. I know when my parents passed away, and my two sisters were lost at what to do with things left behind, and I lived in Chicago, which was a good 5 hr drive, so most of the work went to my sisters, and there was a lot of stuff. I hope if my family, for some reason, leaves our home like someone like you goes through it and tells the story. Your tribute to the people who lived in this home you went through this weekend was lovely. Thank you for sharing-your USA Granny.🇺🇸♥️

When my mother died I was left to clear out her belongings. It took me many days to slowly go through her things and pick the most precious memory items to keep. I could not take much so some of her old friends got all her furniture and the renovators cleaned out the rest. I could never do it because it would be too emotional and would take me months. Now I look at all the things around me that I think of as precious but my children will probably donate to charity or throw away. It makes me realise they are just THINGS, nothing more, and will all be left behind when I die.

@@sbalogh53 - The things you leave behind were YOUR things. You enjoy them while you are here. What happens to those things after you leave is not a worry of yours during your lifetime. If these things hold no interest to your children/loved ones it’s because they have their own things. They may keep an item that meant a lot to you simply for sentimental reasons. Enjoy your things now.

My heart broke for this situation.
You could feel the love within this home. Brilliant. As a mother I had tears in my eyes when you showed the pictures in the hallway and the area where they measured Emily 's growth. How tragic. Prayers for this family's souls. This home was just darling filled with lovely treasures. Beautiful chairs and my great grandmother passed down a little clock very similar to the one you showed and that knitting box my almost 80 year old mom has. Such memories. Thanks. Now I must say again you my dear Lesley are an angel in disguise. Your compassion and ability to feel and convey emotions and pure respect are a gift. You are a delight to watch and listen to. You are destined for big things. Follow your dreams and pure heart always. Much love from Maryland USA. 🙏👼🕊🥀❤Stay well and safe all of you. 🙋‍♀️

(I'm a fan of Leslie, probably seen every episode, but I think if anyone died it was probably a granddaughter? I think a brother and sister grew up in the 70s/80s, hence the pictures over the toilet and the car-decor, and then maybe a granddaughter died in 2012..)

Although this was a sad story of a once happy family you once again took us on a journey to learn about this loving beautiful family. As a widow I understand the last years of Monique’s life. She surrounded herself with the memories with pictures of her precious Emily. Also a tip that might help you understand, a widow no longer finds comfort in sleeping in the bed she shared with her beloved husband. From what I observed I believe she was sleeping in either Emily’s bed or the bed in the living room close to the fireplace to stay warm. I hope that you may find this information helpful. I absolutely love your videos.

The house looks like old people home, my grandfather was a photographer in the 50s to the 90s and his early photos were mainly in the small format you found, the middle rectangular format became widely used end 80s then up to now, the blonde-reddish girl with the husband maybe are more likely the parents of the 2000 born red haired child (face looks similar to that of the ‘mother’). Also the wardrobe and decor is in the 80- 90s style (Alain delon and the pinups in the bathroom) . Maybe the father of the red haired child is the kid who was into motors in 1985 which would make more sense.

I had 5 children … in 2011 one of my daughters passed away at 3 from a sudden diagnosis of a brain tumor after DX she only lived 5 months …. Her bedroom was left intact for 2 years … we couldn’t even move her things out or anywhere even her bed linens were left intact
Finally in 2013 we did make small changes little by little 😞
    This story resonated deeply 💔
    Thank you ✨💖✨

The beauty of this house is the families love and while living on this earth is a very short time for all of us here on earth… This gives pause to think about the family together in the everlasting world to come… just one step away... be happy and enjoy all loving memories so please make them that way as best you can🌻❤️🤗

Had we heard this on the news it would be sad, but a passing story. Lesley brings reality to it; the lives, the love, the happiness, and the extreme sadness of grief when loved ones are lost. Children’s deaths especially are so difficult to deal with. I worked in a busy intensive care unit and ER, and night after night were times of answered prayer as well as the shock of sudden loss and unanswered questions.
Thank you, Lesley, for giving people the chance to remember those we don’t know, but understand very well the grief they shared.
The guest quarters were very unique, and Francois was very handy to have made that “cooling system.”
The bathroom photos are interesting indeed, especially for the way they were placed: the woman was looking at the mens’ photos, the man was looking at the womens’ photos. I won’t elaborate because I did not know these people. But it’s - odd. 😮
I know they adored their lovely girl, and what a wonderful life they shared. How sad, but that story is sadly not unique. These things happen every day somewhere. Remembering them in your very thoughtful time capsule video is a kindness you did. Thank you for being such a truly caring person. It must be such a joy, Lesley, to be your friend, and happiness for anyone who is around you. You guys take care wherever you go. Enjoy life and travels, but always be careful and watchful about your person and your belongings (another TH-camr got all his equipment stolen just recently - all his equipment, in Greece). But do keep eyes in back of your head, all of you watch for one another. Prayers, my friend, and God bless!
@29:40 Yes, cork doesn’t transfer heat. It’s also used in trivets sometimes.
I’ve found nothing yet on the red/orange auto but I’ll continue to look. Hopefully someone else already has found or does know, I’ve not read through comments yet.
That was a mink stole in front of the closets, not a jacket. Very unique style. I have a vintage mink, a gift from my sweet soulmate. It’s beautiful, but I never got the chance to wear it.
I love the bathtub with the tile around it and glass windows!
The large Japanese fan over the little girl’s bed is pretty - it’s a fan. Do you call those “wavers” in your language? You always call fans that, so it makes me wonder if that’s it.
What a sweet little home, real shabby chic family style! Thank you so much, I loved this for how sweet it was. They had wonderful lives, ups and downs, tragedies; life at its best, worst, finest. Just life. How warm 😊.

Such a tragic event, I believe after the husband died and the daughter had the terrible accident, the wife/mum, died of a broken heart. On another note, I would be freaked out in that toilet with all those eyes watching me, paper or not. Thanks, Lesley xxx
