A little off-topic, but I just bought a 2006 Murano SL with 113k miles for $1,800. It's a Florida car that was well cared for by the first two owners. I just finished detailing it myself. Now this thing looks and drives like new. These cars are an amazing value if you can find a good one. Everybody fears and hates the CVTs. Too bad for them...... and great for me! I'll put a transmission cooler on and change the fluid a little more often. Proper maintenance preserves any vehicle.
Just picked up a 2023 Platinum in white 2 days ago for my wife she was looking at the Infiniti QX 50 but chose the Murano. She's real happy with her choice
I've owned 3 Muranos in a row, the last being a 2016, which I believe was the first year of the current design. Recently I decided to "upgrade" and traded it in on a Lexus RX350. I quickly found out that there is a long list of things I don't like about the RX350 (most not apparent during my test-drive), and I'm planning on trading it in, going back to the Murano. My big question is should I buy the 2023 or wait for the redesign, which is basically the title of this video, however to my surprise the video never actually addresses this question.
2 Muranos, then a Lexus RX350. I hate certain things about the Lexus and I refuse to go to the local Lexus dealer, so it gets serviced at Toyota. I decided to trade now as 1. only have 13k miles on a 2019 2. don't want to wait any longer 3. no telling when Nissan will change that ugly copycat body style.
CVT transmission is for a person like me. Take my time, nerver ever in a rush. I'M Retired, kick laid-back, always slow on the go. I'm happy, just putt putt putting, my azz down the world of the platium infinity road of fun.
The only bad thing about this SUV is that it has NOT changed in over 10 years. So the look and features is becoming outdated. I have had 2 and started to buy the 2024 ...but NOTHING has changed. It's beginning to look like a soccer mom's car. The Rogue is much more sportier and up to date. The interior of the Rogue looks much better drives just as smooth and the Rogue is much more fun to drive.
I had 2020 last week that was totaled by a drunk driver , it held great for a major crash so i’ll be getting a 2023 i just wish the inside had more upgrades . But besides all that great car i drove it in snow and up hills in Tennessee a fee times even do it was front wheel drive it drives smooth .
I'm on my 2nd Murano. My car guy husband was quite anti CVT when we bought the 1st one in '03. He went along because I loved the style, and he was impressed by the interior quality and smooth ride. 380K problem free miles divided over both Muranos, he's now a reluctant fan. I don't like the styling of this last edition, but hope 2024's redesign appeals to my taste.
I've owned two muranos and loved the first one... liked the second. The second one had a couple of "slips" in the transmission in the second year and after reading more about the cvt problem, I simply didn't want to have that hanging over my head. Last year, I purchased the new Pathfinder as they went to a 9 speed transmission and got rid of the cvt. I just assumed that in the next design of the murano, they would follow suit but I'm not hearing that will be the case. Knowing that the perception of the cvt is bad... and knowing that there are no shortage of murano owners who have experienced this problem, it boggles my mind that nissan would keep this transmission. Especially after they were smart enough to change the pathfinder.
I want a new 2023 platinum, but I can’t find one that has everything I want! If I’m buying a brand new car, I want what I want!! I actually did find one with everything I want except it’s blue! And I don’t want another blue car, we have a blue equinox. Should I order one or keep looking?
Had a used 2004 with 20,000 miles on it like new less than half the price. Traded it in for a brand new 2007, (never buy new again too expensive) put almost 180,000 miles (13 years) on it paid for a rear sub frame and THEN the catalytic's plugged found out I could have punched them out in my state AFTER selling it for $2,200. They are most likely still driving it ? That money went to a used 2009 with 94,000 miles on it at $7,500 out the door less the 2,200 and now selling it for 1,000 with a bad rear subframe rear shocks etc...drove it for 3 years with no problems. Wife had a used 2012 platinum with 50,000 and put another 100,000 on it no problems. Has a bad rear subframe now and got $3,900 from carvana for it. That said we have had all these cars for less than the price of a new one. We have downsized this time trying a lease and with a different brand which is NOT as good as these Murano's THIS is our experience, I may be buying one of these (2023) in about 7 years ?
We’re not hearing about the redesign now and rumors are starting they may kill the model and most will go with the rogue or pathfinder. There was photos of a vehicle but it’s unknown is that’s the Infiniti version of it with Nissan badges to hide it up some.
Mine is a 2020 and looks just the same,,,these things are slow out of the hole but just flies when ur late to work,,so quiet inside thought I was going 80 miles an hour I was going 105 yikes,,,,love mine in black with black 50 series tires,,,
You basically buying a 2015 car in new condition in 2022. All they added was lane assist and parking sensors. The design is dated. The camera and screen are very low resolution. I have a car made in 2009 that has the same quality of a camera/screen combo in current Muranos.
Be cheaper buy the 2023 model though manufacturers are hiking prices could only imagine what price the 2024 would be since Nissan is making great cars the brand is getting so much better + styling are nicer know if the 2024 Murano be even nicer be very expensive. I am very happy with the 2023 lineup of these vehicles though new Z with automatic has recall stop sale order on the new Z along same recall with the 2020-2022 ( Titan and Frontier) all uses Jatco automatic trannies that under the recall at least Nissan getting business done still they are doing such amazing job love Nissan took a while but they are up there with Toyota.
I had 3 Murano this is not really impressive it’s the same drop year after year not even the dash changed I’m trying to get out of this Land Rover DS I was going to go back to the Maurano but nah great video thanks

Nissan has dropped the ball w allowing the murano to become so obsolete. It’s a shame the murano can no longer compete w its competitors. I can’t figure out why Nisan won’t invest it bringing the murano up to date
A lot of these redesign dates are pre planned. Meaning they invest x amount of dollars and they expect x amount of ROI. The longer they can make money without a redesign they save tons of money. I agree it needs a redesign.
Such a common pain we point, we all share. Why the hell they do not introduce a Turbo with V6 to make it better on mileage. @NISSAN has just let it die, very shameful!

this is the most attractive and bold styling of imo any mid row SUV right now, with the worst transmission ever devised, the CVT. I'm driving a rental Murano right now while my sled is in the shop and the CVT almost ruins the whole experience.
It's overpriced as a new car and other companies have better options. Used Muranos though, are a good value. Have a 2018 SV and enjoy it. Ignore whatever Nissan suggest for transmission fluid changes and do it every 20 to 25K miles.

Consider a windshield protection film its 500 bux but will ward off rock chips if u drive on highway

Buy 2023 the redesign might be 2 years out n the price gouging it might be 70k
And get lasfit switchback led fog lights keep stock ones when u go to dealer for major repairs swap em back
Get a rental of the redesigned one when it comes out and maybe u can do something to get it if it ends up 2 good while owning the 2023

Are friends have a 2018 absolute joy to drive. Drove it for 5 hours. Awesome power can throw it down and gets you moving fast very smoothly.

It's slow from 0 to 20 but from 55 to 90 it pulls better than any suv in its hp range
