Isn't that the thing with conspiracy folks? They spend years looking through documents and claim they know everything that can be known about them, yet when they are shown up, they immediately twist it into something completely different and "oh, we knew about that all along!"
and then there are those, knowingly, intentionally twisting stuff and spouting disinformation, hoping to create a popular channel to monetize on. In my view the Apollo guys belong in that scumbag lying snake oil selling category.
Somewhat reminiscent of flat Earthers who seize on that NASA paper that advises developers to "assume a flat and nonrotating Earth" when evaluating or applying the math in the model. Yet another of their "gotchers".
Another thing common to them is that they were born long after the Apollo era. I watched almost the entire US space program unfold as it was televised but then, I was born in 1952 and got to see the fun parts. I followed it in all the detail that was available and have the same reaction to these denier idiots that Buzz Aldrin did if they don't walk away when first told to. I have zero patience for fools.
@@axeman2638 never let them get in the way of their belief in authority? it's because the facts are, very much facts which are, if you didn't know, facts.
I've noticed a common thing with the conspiracy nuts. It seems impossible for them to realize that there are incredibly smart people, working on incredibly complex things, that they just don't want to admit are beyond their scope of knowledge. The way they go over their chosen "mistakes", while ignoring the most obvious things in the foreground. Crazy.
i suppose its much easier for some people to just call everything bullshit, instead of actually admitting they don't understand or accept that other people may be smarter than they.
They have feelings of powerlessness, paranoia and victimhood, with a good measure of anger. It's always nefarious groups who harm humanity for money and power and spiritual vandalism.
They may have OPENED lots of documents, but it appears you have read more of them! This reminds me of the guy to claimed to be "doing hi IQ research because he had lots of tabs open on his browser." He literally said that.
Well that’s the nature of the beast. They aren’t reading the documents they are only looking for the things they can cherry pick to make them say something they want them to. That’s why it’s called confirmation bias. And if they get called out for doing it they go right to, well it used to say that but they changed it.

Thank you, Dave. Thanks for dealing with these... people. It's a disgrace that they so obviously misrepresent facts to fit their narrative, and it's downright sad that they try to attach themselves to these great historic achievements in such a destructive and dishonest manner.
I'm a HUGE Apollo mission fan, but I didn't know that an EVA was done prior to CSM separation to retrieve the camera film for almost all Apollo missions (I'm guessing this didn't happen on Apollo 13 for obvious reasons). You taught me that today. Thank you. Recent subscriber and I'm loving your content!
I suppose that just illustrates how interest in the later missions waned -- it's certainly something I've learned. Might have to go back to The Vintage Space and see is Amy mentioned it at some point
Apollo 13...the space soap opera to galvanize support for the space program which Americans weren't only uninterested in bit extremely upset about. Americans couldn't understand why so much time money and effort was going into space while wars rage and the homeless and poor struggle all under a corrupt and criminal president Nixon. Not much has changed has it?
@@DaveMcKeegan I just can't understand why the idea of them doing this would somehow be so surprising. These missions were after all intended to perform EVA activities on a rock with no atmosphere, they clearly by necessity would have the required equipment to conduct EVA activities, as you only need to add a tether to do the same thing on the outside of a spacecraft operating outside of an atmosphere. It is really not that hard to figure out how they could apply the same equipment for both objectives the bulk of the complexity and weight in equipment here is in the suits themselves which they needed for Lunar EVA anyway because the moon would be a complete death trap without having that equipment.
Believing in strange conspiracy theories gives one a false sense of intellectual superiority. It can be very entertaining and thought provoking and therefore very seductive when combined with the ego boosting effects inherent when one believes they have access to "secrete knowledge."
@@Riptions "Its just a matter of not being blinded when the truth is right in your face." You are literally declaring your intellectual superiority with that statement. It is "secret knowledge" if only 10% percent of the population can see it. There is no way to conclusively prove your beliefs. Your evidence is circumstantial and based on interpretation of certain facts. I was once a huge conspiracy buff, the same as you, I was of the mind that the planes were remotely piloted. You want to know what I finally figured out? That the "truth" doesn't matter to most people. That being aware of things that other people are not, is a is a lonely business. I have concluded, after studying conspiracy theories throughout the 80s 90s and 2000s, that history is being re-written on a minute by minute basis and nothing we think happened really did. The lesson: Dont think too much about the past, it doesnt really matter that much. Focus on the path ahead of you. That's what counts.
@@entangledmindcells9359 It gets them attention on YT comments sections as well. I suspect some of these creeps are not FE-ers but just trolling because it gives them an ego boost to have people engaging with them.
It always surprises me how obvious these kind of people are about their lying. Why spend all their time investigating stuff, reading documents, collecting material, etc, when they are just gonna make stuff up anyway? Makes no sense to me.
Putting aside how they're quite likely to lie about the time spent, their idea is that time spent suggests expertise, not understanding. This is quite a popular myth, e.g. in the "10000 hour rule".
All you need to know is that ALL Modern Conspiracy Theories come back to (((World Control))) and pretty much mostly started with the Nazis. The OG Nazi Judeo-Marxists are controlling all Liberal Democracies idea, has seeped into the majority of them. Why do the Globists hide Flat Earth information? Cause it is some overarching Secret World Government hiding everything from the general populace. AKA The Jews. Or the Marxists. Of course EVERYONE who isn't red pilled is a Marxist, or Socialist. Another Example CRT = Marxist Indoctrination in Schools. Cloudtrails = Secret Government Depopulating World for One World Govn. Literally Every Single One is Some Iteration of the Protocols Of Zion Elders. I used to be Hardcore into Conspiracy. Why? Because I wanted to know the Truth. Well I found out. And it is actually even worse then the Conspiracy Theories themselves. Every other MF in this World has a boner for Fascism. One way or Another. You could place Alex Jones down in 1932 in Berlin on a Radio Show and he would literally fit right in. In fact he probably would have been promoted most likely to some Government Media official. Or Hitler would have killed him for sounding TOO MUCH like Hitler himself. No Joke.
I actually didn't know about the PTC rolls that the apollo astronauts had to do. Honestly this is why I love watching conspiracy debunking, there's usually something to learn that I hadn't considered before. Thanks, Dave!
I generally loathe hoax believers and the stupidity and dishonesty they spread, but I have to admit I’ve learned so much I otherwise would not have in researching and debunking their claims.

I used to believe conspiracy theories and lots of other woo, when I had no self-esteem. Then I grew up, learned to think critically and demand evidence before forming a conclusion. And I stopped needing "secret knowledge" to make myself feel 'special'. All of these folks just do not believe in themselves, therefore they believe just about anything else.
"when I had no self-esteem" This it seems is a common trait among many conspiracy theorists. Joining the "clique" of a conspiracy community and interacting with it's members gives them a sense of value they otherwise lack. There is no community for everyone who is normal and accepts mainstream facts. Hence the attraction of the conspiracy. Conspiracy followers are just losers who need to get a (meaningful) life. Literally.
That's the crazy thing with flat earthers and conspiracy theorists. They want proof for everything, yet they have no proof for what they want to believe. It's kind of sad tbh. I would feel bad for them if they weren't actual idiots.
Very true👍. Well said👌. Most of these people are religious, "most" not all and its inherently neccesary for their religion that they're brought up thinking they are both special but also entirely incapable of function without God I.e. don't trust yourself or your mental faculties to conclude things for yourself, God is always the answer and any hypothetical word were God exists but us humans aren't the center piece isn't meaningful either. Hence why flers necessarily must constrict the world into a small easily understood space and why believers in general despise examples of world A v world B comparisons. It's why they use their conclusions to prove their premises over the premises to prove the given conclusions. They're special thus God exists thus they're special because God exists. God isn't what they try to justify, it's their premises they try to justify with God thus their premises must be true. It's entirely backwards, pathetic and sad.
I love how they openly say, "I didn't look at the transcripts because I knew it didn't make sense"(paraphrased) and also say that a person, citing those documents, wouldn't know as much as them about the documents
Have you ever noticed that these conspiracy theorists, flat earthers, etc. all seem to speak with the same annoying, mocking, smug, self-righteous attitude and tone of voice...? 🤔🤔 Pretty @#$% funny, considering how WRONG they always are!
They are either, A: disingenuous and are lying for donations from their gullible followers, B: not really all that bright, or C: a little of both. In the case of these guys, I was initially thinking full on option A, but the more I rink about it, I'm going to go with option C on this one.
First law of conspiracies - a conspiracy can never be wrong it just grows to encompass the new information. What puzzles me is that conspiracy believers happily believe that everyone is in on it. Also, never argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Arguing with a conspiracy theorist is like playing chess with a pidgeon, it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board and flies back to its flock to claim victory
A conspiracy is when a group of people conspire. I think you meant "conspiracy theory". There are conspiracies going on all the time as any look at the daily news will confirm. History is filled with actual conspiracies. A conspiracy theory is a conspiracy that is unproven. I believe based on evidence that there are conspiracies. I do not believe that "everyone is in on it". Thats straw-manning to an absurd degree my friend!
Marcus Allen started referring to people who know the actual history of the Apollo Program as parrots. "They just parrot the Nasa lies" he says. So now when they want to insult you they either use the image of a parrot or call you one. Marcus started using it in his diatribes about BP1227. After I done 6 videos on the topic; he kept saying "none of the parrots have replied to my challenge". Marcus is a conman and liar.
The sucky thing is there are real conspiracies taking place in the world and people like this make it nigh impossible for them to be taken as seriously as they should be.
One of my favorite conspiracy theories is that "they" put resources into Flat Earth and Moon Landing conspiracy theories in order to discredit actual, legitimate conspiracy theories.

The difference between you and them: when you are called out on something you've said, you go back to verify. And in the event you find that you spoke in error, you retract and apologise. When they are called out, they double down. They are the implacable skeptic. They cannot accept that they are wrong. Meanwhile you, when able to be proven wrong, can admit that you were wrong. To be clear, you are rarely wrong in what you say. But when you ARE wrong, you can admit it. These guys are rarely NOT wrong in what they say, but can never admit it.
The thing is, when you're looking for something, you tend to look for it based upon your own perception of what it looks like. For example: I was recently looking in my pantry for a box of beef stock. I remembered the box as being white with a blue top and green writing. I looked through my pantry for a good several minutes and came to the conclusion that I didn't have what I was looking for. My wife came in the kitchen and, within about 2 seconds, pulled out the box of beef stock from the front of the eye level shelf. The manufacturer had changed the box to a light green with a red top and black lettering. Since I was looking for the familiar white box with blue top and green writing, I completely looked over the new packaging. This is what's happening with the defective detectives (and pretty much every other conspiracy theorist). They are so sure they're right, when they look at a data set, they are looking specifically for the data which supports their claims and are unable to see contradictory data. At least, that is if they actually believe the conspiracy theory and aren't simply taking up a torch "for the views".
@@ShizukuSeiji You've got a point there. I think a significant portion of those conspiracy theorists are either enjoying being trolls or trying to make a buck. @@c.augustin Correct, larger observatories use 3D actuators. Azimuth and elevation (frequently shortened as Alt-Az, altitude-azimuth) for pointing, following the simpler mounting demonstrated by Dobson, and a "field derotator" that counterrotates the sensor. This setup makes it easier to balance the main mirror compared to the counterweights used on larger equatorial mounts, which additionally increase the vertical load on the rotating axis (right ascension). The clock drive demonstrated, with an equatorial wedge to align the clock and a ball head to point the camera, is simply built for a lighter load, and sturdy enough not to require precise balance.

I seriously never thought the day would come in my life where I could say, YO you young whippersnappers (cracks me up now). But I digress. I watched ALL of this happen live. I listened as the whole world did to these conversations. We would sit holding our breath every time we waited the several seconds for a reply from the capsule. Had something happened? Was everyone ok up there? Those seconds ticked by in a bit of fear we would never hear a reply. EVERYONE knew the astronauts were going outside the capsule. The whole world held it's collective breath that day glued to the radio (yes we all used radio back then) and waited for the TV nightly broadcast or you went to a friends house who had a tv (not everyone had them yet). Every time I listen to one of these idiot conspiracy fools saying none of this happened I just sit and laugh. I saw the rocket launch with my own eyes (it was sooo amazing). I sat with my family listening to the conversations, live, as every ham operator in the world was tuned in. My dad worked for IBM at the time and had helped with some of the programing, and was a ham so we gathered around the radio (all those wonderful glowing condenser tubes) and listened. When we got tired of listening and went out to play, dad would come get us for the important parts, like the EVA which scared the bejesus out of all of us. I can still remember my dad trying to explain to my mom why the astronaut wasn't going to "fall" by telling her he was already falling around the moon which scared her silly. All of us kids cracked up that she didn't understand basic science but she was one hell of a mom and a great cook! So for all the conspiracy ijits out there, stop. A whole world saw, heard and watched this happen. Every ham listened, everyone with a telescope watched. This wasn't done in secret but rather with as MUCH openness as possible so that we could rub Russia's face in it (cold war 101). Oh and the whole world talked about it for years. Most of those folks are all dead now, it is only those of us who were children back then that are left. But we remember....
My earliest memory of Apollo, must have been 5 yrs old, we were just arriving at a summer camp ground after a long drive from our home in Montreal. As we were climbing out the car at the camp ground office, the owner lady came running out and telling us to quickly come inside and see the TV..."they're landing on the moon!" she exclaimed....
Even in grade school, we were all ushered into the cafeteria (one room large enough for all the kids, and had a tv) to watch John Glenn 'blastoff'. Watched the Apollo 11 landing and stayed up late to watch them step out onto the moon. I'm with you, these denier nuts are just that, nuts. Some of them look up some data about Van Allen Belts and think, 'wow, that's a lot of radiation.' Then (because they know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING), the figure there would have to be LEAD shielding but there wasn't any lead shielding in the spacecraft so it must all be a lie. (FYI, charged particle radiation from VAB do not require feet of lead shielding). Film canisters, likewise.
With the possible exception of WW2 the Apollo program was likely the most heavily documented human activity of the 20th century. The amount of material available for research is astounding.
Whenever I interact with any of these Apollo deniers, I always ask them if they've ever considered spouting their conspiracies directly to Buzz Aldrin. Strangely enough, not one single one of them has taken up that challenge.
@@petergaskin1811 Actually, many are confronting Buzz Aldrin directly in person. He actually punched one chap in the face and got into some legal trouble over it I believe.

This it seems is a common trait among many conspiracy theorists. Very true👍.

Great debunking, and done with respect and style. Well done, sir.

@@JohnNotAMurderer So how do you explain that NASA is not able to put a man on the Moon today, 52 years after they said they did it?
Can I say, I love the dog sleeping on his lap.
'Folks, we've built a rocket with millions of working parts in four stages, that all work together to do the things they're designed for....but we're going to just keep the re-entry stage flying around Earth's atmosphere for eight days and then bring them back.....no one will see or record them continuously flying around our orbit and all those moon pics and films we'll map out perfectly just in case 40 or 50 years later, hi-res photo's will be able to map out the moon, exactly as our graphics department have done in the late 1960's....yep, that'll work, even the Russians and Chinese intelligence agencies won't have a clue....even after nine trips and six landings'.
Truthers never seek the truth.
Liars would be a better label.
13 conspiritards have had their butts *SERIOUSLY HURT* by this video, so far :) .
'conspiracy theorist' implies a level of critical thought and gives the truth cult too much credit IMO
Yep. Those folks (at least ones who aren't openly deceiving their audience) are hoax believers at best.
I call them since years conspiracy speculators when I'm being polite.
When they believe it and try to invent wacky ideas to support it, they're crazy cranks. When they don't believe it but push it, they're loser grifters.
Their illusions of grandeur are amazing! How can people be so oblivious? 😔
After a lot of build up and tears and concern for disappointing me, my child finally told me that he is gay. I had to be honest with him. I had to tell him that I was severely disappointed with him. Disappointed that all that time I was thinking he was going to tell me he’s a flat earthier. One proud dad here!
claiming you removed the video while it is showing on his own screen, that's just hillarious!
I love how these guys constantly concede their arguments. If you have to lie, cherry pick data, and quite mine for proof you know you are wrong. There's no other reason to do those things. So, they know they are wrong, and actively go out of their way to prove they are cherry picking evidence- that sounds like a concession to me. If you have to lie to win, you have already lost.
A bit like ISS deniers who must spend hours carefully going through every minute of video in an effect to find a few seconds they can claim are faked.
As a Wigan guy I was loving this channel until I noticed that saints hoodie! Na, in all seriousness I love the work that you do Dave. Keep it up and see you at the next Grand Final

The first thing you learn as a child when your tell your second lie is you have to keep track of your lies so as not to be caught out in contradictory lies lol.
These guys are shocking liars. I remember one of their scams was to suggest that the moonwalks were done in a studio with the help of wires from above, to give a weightlessness impression, and to “prove” this they showed the famous golf swing which had a strong reflection off it. Needless to say, the reflection didn’t go very high...
The Soviets (later the Russians) confirmed we went, China has confirmed we went, and India has confirmed we went. Two of those three aren't exactly the biggest fans of the US.
It's because, y'know, the Soviets were bought off with grain, China with rice, and India with... um... what do Indians eat?
I can't tell if you're joking, being racist, or just don't understand international politics and history.
@@Kyle____ I'm sorry for not being clear enough.
Yes, I was joking.
@@Jan_Strzelecki I knew you were joking cause Indians clearly eat corn... or maize...
Oh, wait, you didn't mean Native Americans when you said Indians???😮
Your understanding of politics is naive at best.
By the way the U.S. went to the moon 6 times (half a century ago) the Russians didn't, nor the Chinese, Indians or Koreans for that matter.
Brilliant video. Been watching a few months now, how can they not see their own arguments being used against them and avoiding those strange little things called facts and evidence?
I’ve only started watching your videos today. But I’m already having a blast watching them.
A parrot on your shoulder is easier thus safer. An eye patch would be much more dangerous: Pirates wear them after burning their eyes misusing a sextant. And we all know how fleffers and sextants mix..... 😉
There are few things I am afraid of. But I am afraid of space walks.
Yeah, I know what you mean. A small slip and you become an independent satellite orbiting the earth.

it's always these "little" things... because they know the entire thing cannot be denied
Have these critters addressed any of the thousands of peer reviewed scientific papers on the data and samples from the Apollo moon landings?
I think we both know the answer to that.
No, they have not
ummm no
There usual answer to that is that the samples were faked so perfectly that they’ve fooled everyone that’s looked at them, or they are also in on it.
@@Isolder74 my usual answer is, how were they able to fake cosmic ray spalation and 10 km/sec micrometeorite impacts with 60s technology?
YOUR DOG IS CGI
JUST LIKE SCIMANDAN'S LEGS!!!!
Gracious, I so appreciate your calm, dignified manner during such responses tooutright lies and 'devious' alternate spins, seeking to misdirect their watchers and the public at large.
I am always surprised [but never shocked] by CT folk who insist on spinning replies and facts to suit their narrative, and likely hoping that no one will actually go read and follow up on what they seek to misdirect from or about.
Thank you for the response video, Dave. I am glad you do not take it seriously, but DO appreciate the inherent danger also present in these people's lies and focus upon those seeking to inform factually. It is not truly funny, and not something to wander away from really. Such minds are not benign or safe to have wandering the Interwebs unchecked.
These particular conspiracy theorists remind me of retired 60s rock n rollers with too much time on their hands.
The dog is great “come on dad, finish this up so we can go for a walk”
props to them to not being flat earthers- Yet
There are a lot of flat Earthers who enjoy their garbage site and who are not corrected.
I bet some are
Aren't they? Aren't they saying that the moon landing was fake? And isn't that because they ARE flat earthers?
If they're "so far ahead of you" why do they even bother to give you, clearly such a small irritant, any screen time?
Could it be that you make them nervous? That you threaten them? Surely not. You're just a photographer with absolutely no knowledge on space-land. Unlike them, who know everything there is to know and therefore have no need to even go looking anymore... Right?
Huh. Well, maybe you're onto something here Dave.
I know it's hard not to, but feeding the trolls is often counter-productive. We know who speaks truth and thanks for your content. Self-deception is the symptom most often associated with a troll. Good stuff.
I prefer to use the word "expose" rather than "feed" when it comes to trolls. Its a very rewarding pastime.
You are right and still I think it's important to offer a counter-argument. Not for them, it's very unlikely you convince them. But anyone else watching their videos and being skeptical might see sense.
A big thumbs up to my favorite conspiracy debunker👍👍👍
Of course they lie they HAVE to lie
They also repeat the same lies no matter what
It's funny how anyone that's ever been in an internet argument knows to take screenshots and downloads in case something gets removed but not these guys.
It pleases me greatly that your animation of the TLI burn had the spaceship in the correct location for the burn. Getting orbital mechanics right is so rare these days.
All in favor of making KSP part of the standard high school curriculum? Aye?
Aye!
Interesting how the Russians, at NO point during or since the Apollo missions, have EVER raised any questions or doubts about their validity.
That's true of "official" Russians. There are plenty of young Russion conspiracy theorists nowadays who question NASA.
@@therealzilch 'conspiracy theorists' - So what...I can say I'm the reincarnated Buddy Holly and my mate Elvis works in disguise at Walmart because the CIA, funded by George Soros, wanted us both gone because we KNEW about the ancient aliens!!!!
Now, I don't have a lot of evidence to support that...but those in charge at the Kremlin for the last 50 or so years probably have quite a bit of information regarding exactly what the US got up to or not with their space program...you know, it was kind of a big deal, after all. The cold war and all that.
It shouldn't be a surprise to many that...the Soviets and US didn't get along all that well for most of the 20th century...and probably still don't ideologically. I think it'd be fair to say that. Any shenanigans would have been called out in about 0.3 milliseconds. It wasn't.
Lowering themselves to breaking commandments, are they?
