I know a lot of people say that this is the song that would make you speed on a highway at like 100 mph :D I agree with that~ The intensity of the video really matches the vibe, since The Weeknd is being distracted by the fame, the lights of Vegas, the party life. It shows him under the influence and it seems like he's having a good time, but in reality on the inside, he's really broken and desperate for someone to get him out of that state and away from those blinding lights. And he's the only one that stands out in the video, since he is lonely, and matches the desperation he needs from getting outta of the life he lives in Vegas. The upbeat tempo really stands out, since it distracts you from how desperate the lyrics are, and The Weeknd definitely did it on purpose. Definitely caught me off guard the first time I saw the video and listened to the song.

Well, I never thought this MV was THIS funny-
i know im late but blinding lights is actually about what i believe the ambulance ride after he ODs (i believe the "girl" he talking about is drugs in this specific song) HOWEVER in the song before blinding lights on the album (faith) he talks about him getting in the back of a flashing car as well as taking multiple drugs

Maybe I'm mistaken because, of course, I'm white and privileged and obviouslly can never understand all the horrible things that black people have to go through in life because of this shitty society, but it was not said in your reaction video and I think it's important to mention that there is also a very important criticism about racism and police brutality (please correct me if I'm wrong). At the part that he was beaten in the club and had to run away from the security guards. Of course I can be wrong, as I said, maybe he got beaten by another reason, but that's
what it looked like to me. I couldn't see any reasons in the video for him to be beaten that way, which led me to believe that The Weeknd is showing the reallity of a lot of people that go through the same thing just because of the color of the skin. And also, in the VMAs this year, The Weeknd wore the same outfit of this series of videos, had his face all beaten up just like this video and when he won the award for best music video, in his speech he struggled to be happy about his wins given what was going on in the world.

The thing that gets me about this video is that there's a non linear timeline. I feel like his goal is Vegas which we're shown in the beginning but then it cuts back and forth between LA and Vegas, but both at night. It's like even he doesn't know where he is. Maybe to represent the dislocation felt from being intoxicated. Also I think those are loafers with sort of a fake spat rather than a mary jane.
