Two comments/suggestions: 1.) Paying 200 for a single-turn overlord is a steep price to pay 2.) The nuke was a 350 resource sink just to still lose the round. It's rolling the dice pretty heavily you could have gotten 1800 pts of damage in that round to end the game.
Its criminal how much you undervalue mustangs when your opponents are smashing you with stormcallers and winning chaff war/wasps. The buff they got for intercept is insane.
15:15 Grubby: "Mustangs of course do not do great against storm callers" Really throwing shade on the mustangs here. Meanwhile I literally use them as a direct counter to stormcallers and have had massive success shutting them down with the missile interceptor upgrade. To each his own i guess.
Fort + AA is a must to counter the best (most reliable) aggro comp in game atm : worm + wasps. The fort will block the worm, burst, and tank it (hopefully !) and AA barrage is really strong on mass wasps. Not running shield is total madness. Range is useful but not necessary (you'll often want your fort in front of the pack, it's the second best cost/hp value in game after WF). Fang prod has it's uses, it can save you from double shot acid scorps, balls, melters... Fort carry is a meme for 1k players (nowadays). Tl;dr : AA and barrier are mandatory, overload is great when you're getting pushed (to down worms faster) or ultra aggro (to chew chaff faster), punch, range and fangs are good options. Wraith is NOT a good counter to wasps because most people have air spec on wasps and it will absolutely wreck any other air unit, especially when combined with range. Wraith is good at ground chaff clear, tanking stangs/fangs/fort AA for wasps, and degen (especially when combined with sandstorm). It will be wrecked by many units that are popular : melters, wasps, marksmen. It's good with an aggro balls push and wasps/worms.
What you can try Grubby is Vulcan with best partner tech(summons 1 marksman at beginning of combat) and then marksman with shooting squad tech(summons 5 fangs at beginning of combat). So those are your anti air while the Vulcan is your chaff clear.
you mean techs? Yes it does affect it. Say you have 3 lvl 2 vulcans and you run the best parner tech, if you buy a lvl 1 markman, tech it (and possibly sell it) you'll still start the round with 3 lvl 2 marksmen with tech. Same goes for production items, it's always worth it but it's even better if you teched the summoned unit. Just remember that some summons are only lvl 1.
Wraith's counter is wasps AA, all air units are countered by wasps AA, it's even more deadly if they have elite marksman (as they get even more range and more dmg). Best counter to wasps as a unit is mustangs (range first so they stay alive until wasps arrive), as a tech it' AA barrage from fort. Fangs with range are okay too.
Gotta say its a thing with streamers there too busy talking and watching chat to actually focus. I know what units I need before the last round ends. And that`s the 1st thing i do and focus. You guys always second guess yourselves and take way too long to play what you already said you need then your running out of time. lol
Hurts to watch 0 air. But it's cheating, I get it. I like your current "learning" phase. Hope to see hacker and whacky starts recent games from here hehe
Had chat telling him the opponent's tendencies and still loses....then says "air is cheating" after trying to go Phoenix Quantum Reassembly.... sounds like a skill issue to me... I just got the game so hoping I get my MMR up to see myself in a video dominating.
This game seems neat but the deployment position weirds me out. Seems Waaaaay too nuanced to have any kind of actual balance, not sure how it can be. Eh, that's why I watch you play - I'm not smart enough. Gaming has become Viewing, since these days meeting COOL new people is so impossibly hard - even for Boomer 80's baby extroverts like me. Cheers Grubby.
"Air is cheating" - same guy who was going mass Phoenixes with Quantum Reassembly literally the previous match 😂

It seems he didn't incorporate the last patch into tactics. Maybe if he was more of a Storm abuser he would feel the effectiveness of AM mustangs
AM buff was on the 16th, description says game played on the 12th...
Vulcan goes brrr.
@@tpnxyOh, I didn't realize it was a pre patch game, thanks for the info
@@agnosticpanda6655 it's rock paper scissors all over again baby
THIS WAS RECORDED BEFORE THE MUSTANG ANTI-MISSILE BUFF
17:50 classic grubby blunder
Quantum reassembly is terrible in most cases. Mustangs with anti-air, missile defence, and range was the way to go.
Second this
It used to be great
Loses a perfect game: "...Super close!" LOL
Grubby, after getting murdered by missles without building any of the 3 AM options: "I feel like it was winnable"
I think wasps with anti air are the best anti air unit.
It is.
hahaham that -4 at the end was sooo sooo good! Well played man.
So far I have played and lost against Süßsauer, Rat and some 2k Asian guy, but I managed to win against Dzemp once

This was old patch
just as i was going to bed you upload >.>

'he got more balls left than we do' 👀
sorry I chouldn't help it.
hi, i liked your way of playing on Age of empire 4, even more here, gj!!

That's literally a meme from the tuto. But yeah the MM summon on Vulcan is pretty meta, the fangs on MM is a waste in most cases.
Air is cheating.
Oh! Phoenixes!
Unti upgrades doesnt effect units produced by fortess and other giants, right?

It does
the only thing capable of killing vulcans is melters. crazy town.
My favorite Wasp counter is Wraiths. But I am still far below this skill level so maybe I am dumb...

bro mustangs are actually pretty good against stormcallers because they do intercept their rockets alot better then the stationary thing. ur welcome

Let's face it phoenixes aren't so good
Had chat telling him the opponent's tendencies and still loses....then says "air is cheating" after trying to go Phoenix Quantum Reassembly.... sounds like a skill issue to me... I just got the game so hoping I get my MMR up to see myself in a video dominating.
-4 XD
GG
Damn what I miss ? I was at 1600 elo better than Grubby and now 1782 for real...Also Anti Air Tarantula is a must mate...great VS Wasps
Should have made mustangs with the anti missile asswell, easy win vs wasps
I feel that anti-air tarantula is not a good idea due to the short-range attack. And it will interrupt its anti-chaff ability on the ground
not 1st

For someone with 200 apm I see you run out of time to do stuff so often…
