Thanks for posting this, especially all in one video instead of three separate parts. Richter was amazing. From 27:00 on in his version I'm simply spellbound.
I would also strongly recommend listening to the post by Silesius32 of Richter playing this at the small Parish Church at Aldeburgh during the festival of June 1966. The sound quality is much better and the performance possibly surpasses even this great interpretation. Wish I had been there!
@@tlahe2 I know this is late, and it’s pointless comparing who’s better at this level. But, I like to think Horowitz had higher peaks, but overall richter was the better pianist. I attribute this to him actually playing Bach, Beet, and having a larger rep, more pure style.
Magnificent playing. The man was a genius of the first order
A truly magical performance. Too incredible for words.
I admire Richter's breathtaking performance. Thank you so much.
A sea of sound, shifting through all the colors of the universe.
Wow, he takes it such a pace and still gets all the notes more clearly than others taking it a slower pace.
Großartig, wie immer!

Richter was one of the greatest pianists ever. You're wrong.
Now now now children: they’re both great. Pull in your claws...
@@mattm9042 - I agree they are both great BUT Richter is the greater of the 2.
