A few non spoiler tips to make life easier :
    - swimming empty handed is faster than having something in your hand
    - you can swap batteries between your tools when one of them run out
    - scan everything
I think that's enough. Unless you're completely stuck, try to discover everything by yourself.

Hi! First time seeing your channel. Glad to watch a Subnautica playthrough. A few tips you might already know: 1) Scan everything! 2) Cut everything with the knife. 3) Batteries can be swapped in anything that uses them, so no need to craft the item again. 4) You have a medical kit fabricator in your pod. 5) Bases are stationary but deconstructable if you need to change it around.
Hope this helps and isn't too much of a spoiler. Good luck.

Bases don't move, but you can build as many bases as you want. Every real Subnautica player has at least 3 bases in different locations by the end of the game^^. There's only one limitation to build as many bases as you want: You have to find and gather the necessary ressources.
That said - having a base, even a rudimentary one, is usefull.

The exploding fish swims faster than you, but they have terrible turning radius. You can never outrun them, but you can easily out-manouver them. Face them head-on and pass them, then they can never turn quickly enough to do damage to you.

A very good place for building your 1st base is near lifepod 17.

Yes, my favorite genre of youtube video -- blind Subnautica playthroughs!
    Tips:
    1. if something's scannable, a little symbol will pop up in the bottom right corner of your screen (you might have noticed that, but I like to point it out just in case)
    2. important text notes will sometimes pop up in the top left, where it gives you your "you died" message
    3. SCAN. EVERYTHING. If you think you can scan it, try.
    4. There are definitely entries you'll HAVE to read. I recommend at least quickly skimming the entries, *especially* if you get them on dry land or around construction (like you saw in the Jellyshroom caves). Especially check the datapad if you get stuck, because you very possibly already have your next step and just don't know it. This game does *not* hold your hand when it comes to the plot.
    5. The base you build with the habitat builder doesn't move, but you can build as many as you want. For instance, in the late game, I usually build a little recharging station in a certain spot, which is pretty common.
You DO, however, get a vehicle that can function like a mobile base in the late game. :)

The "Radiation Suit" consists of both the body suit AND the helmet. This means you'll need to remove the rebeather to wear the radiation helmet. Fortunately you don't need to be underwater to protect yourself from radation so it's not a bad trade-off. Also, after you "fix" the Aurora you'll no longer have any need for your radiation suit. As to the question about bases, yes they are fixed and don't move. You said it correctly - they are "homes" that you can build and give yourself a LOT more room, AND you can craft beds to sleep the night away. And yes you use mobile vehicles to travel out, explore and come back later to craft and make more food/water to prepare for your next day.

6:25 There is something that you can craft which helps a ton with the long trips to the surface, but you haven't crafted it yet, idk if you haven't noticed it yet or chose not to craft it.
9:05 Pay more attention to what's inside your pod, I'm sure something will catch your eye.
You can re-enable the markers on your PDA.
Also, keep in mind that when you die the items that you lose are dropped to the ground.
Bases don't move. You can build as many bases as you want.

Hello @VictoriaSpongeCake👋 ! 1 like and subscribed support.
"you can't fear the things you now know!" Unspoken rule in Subnautica . once you completely scanned using scanner tool at them and read them..
even the Leviathan , stasis riffle their ass at close range and then scan safely, you will be bragging "ooh you again? You don't scare me! Ppffft.. "
the scanner room upgrade lets you scour resources invincible to you. You have the scanner room in you. can't find fragments? guess what, press fragments and select scan in the scanner room before you go search

8:14 you just picked up what you dropped.
And that outside the cave was the things you dropped when you died.

You don't need to read everything, but the game doesn't really hold our hand, so there are some things that if you don't read you won't know how to progress through the story. Still, you should at least read the assessments of the log entries, they provide useful info on most stuff.

You may not like reading much in games, but in Subnautica, both the story and many of the game mechanics are only delivered through knowledge base entries. Not reading means depriving yourself of information which is vital for an enjoyable experience. Episode 1 saw a lot of floundering which could have been avoided by referring to the PDA. Your game, your choice, but personally I prefer less confused players.

@At-Dawn-We-Ride I definitely start learning to read things as I continue the game 😅 for me things don't necessarily stick after reading them once either, so be warned even after I read I may still flounder around slightly!

@@victoriaspongecake2 My calling it "vital" information was not the best choice of words. It is just rough to play Subnautica without the wealth of knowledge stored in the PDA. It is a game made by a small studio after all, and written text is of course less costly to produce than voice-acted content. I am sure that by now you have noticed how small the VA cast was. Anyway, the choice how to play Subnautica is yours. It would just be a shame to enjoy the game less due to lack of information, and one can only experience a blind playthrough once. 😉
