Highly recommend Spiritfarer to anyone who hasn’t gotten to it yet. Management style sim about death + you have a cat that follows you everywhere. Don’t let the platform style throw you off, it’s very very light (not a fan of platformers myself). It’s very wholesome and you have plenty of quests and tasks to keep you progressing. Another more odd pick is Cult of the Lamb - management meets rogue-like combat. If you are interested in some spookyness added to your cozy, and are okay with trying out a bit of combat (I set it to easy mode and have a lot of fun button smashing), you might end up loving it! It’s silly, cute, a little spooky, and for me it was so addicting! Not for everyone but definitely a great game for its own little niche in cozy category.
I was hoping spiritfarer would be a little lighter and sweeter than it is. There’s too much meanness and snark in the characters for me to really love it 😓 just as a psa for anyone who is like me
One of my fave games that I would consider a 'cozy game' is Cat Goes Fishing. It is very simple and has a day/night cycle that changes the fish in the sea. It can be a bit eerie at times when you sink to the silent depths of the ocean, but as you rise to the surface, the music slowly comes back which makes the journey down far more impactful
You wouldn't happen to know about the 2024 release of Whisker Waters, would you? Personally, it looks lovely, and I've pre-ordered physically for my Nintendo Switch! Amazon is one place to get pre-orders, if looking it up piques your interests!
You probably already know this but there's a new game called Webfishing. It has the same premise as Cat Goes Fishing (the whole cat fishing thing) but it's in 3d and you can explore the map and meet other players with a cute animal crossing x old game style
More cozy games: Untitled Goose Game - A lovely game set in a little English village where you play as a goose. If you find satistfaction from making people suffer, this game is for you. Va11 Hall-A - If you liked Coffee Talk, you might like this. Its a visual novel where you play as a bartender working in a cyberpunk megacity. The game is heavily insoired by old school sci-fi anime and PC-98 visual novels (which it's upcoming sequel seems to lean more heavily on). It shares the same gameplay as Coffee Talk wherein you serve drinks and chat with unique and charming patrons, often giving them advice on how to solve or cope with their own problems. Sims 4 - Controversial pick, but the game is really fun and comforting, especially if you pirate all the dlcs rather than pay for them.
Cozy Games in the A Short Hike genre like A Lil Gator Game, Alba, and Haven Park are all similar yet different in their own ways. Short wholesome games with definitive endings that are satisfying to complete.
I really enjoyed A Short Hike and Alba, although I never finished the latter due to severe joycon drift. They're different yet hit the same sweet spot of calm but fun
One cozy game that really stood out to me this year was A Highland Song! It's a gorgeous game in which you're a girl who runs away from home to go to her uncle who lives in a lighthouse. It has you travelling through the Scottish Highlands and climbing mountains, as well as running through nature in a rhythm game.
Played Unpacking, cried at the end. Didn't touch it for a while, decided to play through again pretty slowly, cried again at the ending 🥲 why is it so simple and sweet?
I find crpgs quite cozy without them being really proper cozy game. Recently I have been playing pillars of eternity in my own pace. Walking around fantasy world some combat but with pause, lot of reading going trought gear, getting immersed in world. Is quite relaxing, I think we can find more cozy games outside the expected genre, or games made to be cozy.
I know its a really stupid game concept but placid plastic duck simulator is one of my favorite cozy games ever. Its just about looking at plastic ducks doing things at a pool but its really relaxing and fun. There are events in the maps and ducks that have special quirks like propeller hat duck flying or rock duck just sinking. So if you just want to pop a game and watch plastic ducks being silly i really recommend this game
If you're a fan of Coffee Talk, VA-11 Hall-A is a MUST. Instead of a fantasy coffee shop, it's a cyberpunk bar. The characters are incredible, the music is amazing (and there's a jukebox to choose which track plays), and the drink-making mini game is very similar to the one in Coffee Talk. VA-11 Hall-A is one of my favorite games and I love returning to the story.
Lost ember is similar to chia, lost ember is a good cozy game, you explore a world as a wolf but can change animals as you come across them and has an amazing storyline... I would love for you to check it out
i'd recommend spirittea, abzu, a short hike, cloudpunk and little kitty big city (the last four ones are rather short tho). they're all so cute and i love the storylines and the aesthetics!! 💞
It's not really a "cozy" game necessarily, but a game I love, and am somewhat addicted to, is Power Wash Simulator. I like to play it whenever I need/want to relax and it really is one of the most relaxing and satisfying games I've ever played.
@@annavillarroel I had considered getting it for the Switch but I wasn't sure about it and for whatever reason simulator games tend to run horribly on Switch. But you've convinced me to at least give it a shot. Thank you :)
Ever heard of Spirit of The North? It was free on epic two years ago or so, but I think it's worth the price - the game is about you controlling a fox who died and was revived by a spirit, and were then tasked with restoring the northern lights. It's got gorgeous terrain inspired by Iceland, a fantastic soundtrack, and the puzzles it gives you are actually quite head-scratching. The beginning is quite slow (especially chapter 2) but otherwise it's a fantastic game.
Its just a game too demanding in terms of graphics i don t have a good pc for that that s why i try less demanding games in term of graphics like this list
Not the usual 'cozy game' but Baba is You, it's now one of my favorites! It's a puzzle game, which I usually really don't like, but I love this one. The art style and music got me first (hand-drawn and weird), but the gameplay is so clever, you have to find your way out by moving and swithcing words from the written rules. I do find it cozy even if it get a little stressful, it's very satisfying to play in general, and when you finally complete that level that took you days to solve.
One that I can recommend is known as spirittea, it’s incredibly fun and is a mix of japan and stardew valley, it has everything! It’s such a fun game and you get to care for spirits in a spa
Few other recommendations that weren't mentioned on this list: Spiritfarer is an amazing cozy game. Can't recommend it enough. You're essentially finding passengers/spirits on your boat, sailing between islands, and fulfilling tasks for them so they can pass on peacefully. Beautiful game, wide range of characters and a very touching story. Have a tissue box handy. Any of the Atelier games are super cozy. My all time favorite personally. You just play as a cute anime girl trying her best to become the best alchemist. The crafting/alchemy part of this game is really unique. And there's always a colorful cast of characters. Dragon Quest Builders 1 & 2 if you're into a somewhat more story focused Minecraft Dave the Diver -- dive for food during the day and run a sushi restaurant in the evening Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator -- run your own potions shop, from making the potions to haggling everyone to maximize profits VA-11 Hall-A if you're a fan of Coffee Talk, it's more of a cyberpunk bartender vibe lol DREDGE I really like and I consider it a cozy game lol -- uhh fishing for eldritch horrors lol? Can be kind of scary at times but thought I'd put it out there lol
thank you for this video! a few cozy games i've played recently, really enjoyed, and that are unique in some way to distinguish it from sdv or ac - ooblets - castle crashers isnt a traditionally cozy game, but its simple, fun, nostalgic and easy to play. its essentially a hack and slash - potion build - bugsnax which is. Vaguely cozy
OMG I FRICKIN LOVE BUGSNAX! when I heard it was getting a mobile port, I actively started saving money for it despite already having it on steam. it is worth every penny.
a game i really like that fits in this genre is cozy grove! its a bit on the nose with the name, but i find it very enjoyable because theres a story, all the npcs are the same and you help them one by one which gives them a lot of room to have personality (which they have lots of!) and theres a lot of decoration, along with collecting and some animals to take care of too
One of my favorite "cozy" games is The Last Campfire. I think the story is very interesting and its a puzzle game. It does have an ending but I loved just sitting and playing that game for hours. I want the developers to make another one so bad
I hope Palia has improved. I last played during the Harvest? Festival. Things seemed so expensive re: resources, in game currency and real currency. Seemed I was constantly grinding. It was repetitive. Then there was this competition for resources between players. Ugh. Like the worst treadmill of real life.
I can’t believe I haven’t seen slime rancher here yet! I’d say it’s almost up there with the big two. Also for my recommendation: coral island. It just came out of early access and it’s a bit rough around the edges but you can really tell the devs love this game and it’s really well made so far. It’s essentially Stardew valley 3D with farming, mining, bug catching, and artifact hunting. The villagers are really diverse and fleshed out too. Everything I loved about Stardew and animal crossing mixed into one game.
Including the written names of the games either in the video itself or in chapters/descriptions/ a pinned comment would be greatly appreciated for people like me who haven’t seen some of these before.
I like how this video really demonstrates how one person's cozy is another person's crap. Two of my favourite cozy games didn't make the cut (DDV and Moonstone Island) and two games from the list I find incredibly stressful, frustrating and like they were an absolute waste of my time and money.
Idk if everyone would consider it a cozy game but I LOVED Chicory! If you're an artsy person who loves colour or colouring you'll probably really enjoy it. Apart from colouring and making art, the puzzles are really fun and unique, characters are delightful, the different collecting missions are great fun and you get unlock all these unique stamps and brushes that come with fun sound effects which remind me of playing with kid pix. I got it on sale but then bought the art book since I loved it so much. I couldn't get enough.
This list is really good! I like that you showed a bunch of different types of cozy games. Also the build next to Caito's build in that Dinkum clip you showed looks amazing!
Sunhaven seems really good, it's like Stardew. I'd also recommend Gris, it's cozy because it's puzzle based on characteristics of terrain, and tells a story wordlessly, instead via visuals, gameplay, pace and stages, so well. I found it worth it for how dang beautiful the entire thing is alone, beautiful and melancholy vibe. You do get chased by a giant black bird but you don't really fight it, it just pushes you in a direction. That's from what I remember.
Kora, you should try Grow: Song of the Evertree. It's a really cute cozy game, with story progression. It doesn't take a long time to beat, but it's really beautiful and I had a lot of fun playing it.
My go to ones are No Man’s Sky, Slime Rancher, and Subnautica. No Man’s Sky is one of the few games I’ve played where they pulled off doing almost everything, Slime Rancher is just adorable and shiny coin number go up, and Subnautica may be horrifying at first, but the longer you play the more the beauty of your surroundings comfort you as you make it your home.
i wanted to play tchia more so bad, and i think this is a me problem and not the games problem, but i can't cope with the lack of map 😭 im so directionally challenged i could not for the life of me figure out where to go at any time. i got so lost i had to just put it down entirely, i couldn't find my way out if the wilderness. i wish there was an optional map.
I'd recommend Sun Haven for a cozy game session. Stardew Valley adjacent but does enough different that I would consider it in a different light - key differences would be no stamina and you can adjust how long each day is. A great solo or co-op experience with tons of characters, places, and things to do.
I just started Palia a couple of weeks ago, and I love it. It's very peaceful and relaxing, the scenery and art are beautiful (especially Tamala's magic cottage!), and the characters are interesting (and some of them are real cuties, too). The story and world is interesting and engaging. I thought it was neat and novel that they built a story around the very ordinary event of a player spawning into the world. I also thought having humans be the ancient lost civilization in a fantasy setting was a nice change of pace. 😮 I enjoy the activities in the game. Hunting and bug catching are probably my favorites. Badruu's jokes remind me of my dad. I'm genuinely curious about the backstories of the characters and places, including the people and places we never see. I'm excited about Elderwood, and I sincerely hope they eventually let us go to the capital city someday. 😊
I'm not sure if any of these would fit in, but personally, I find some factory and city-builder games to be on the more laid-back side of tension, such as not only Factorio (when set to peaceful mode), but also Satisfactory, Autonauts, Captain of Industry, Dyson Sphere Program, Cities: Skylines, and Common'hood to name a few examples. In fact, I do kind of wish that there were more of those kinds of games with such chill Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley vibes to go along with them, like with Common'hood for example.
Check out Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times, it's an underrated DS Animal Crossing clone that perfectly nails the vibe and does so much more. You're not only making friends and doing favors but you're also learning to become a skilled sorcerer/sorceress at a magic academy, a lovely touch of that Harry Potter feeling.
Id say pokemon! The mechanics are pretty easy, (idk about yall) but i don't usually end up dying ever, the scenery is so pretty! And you're just collecting a bunch of pet friends! Idk, i think it works!
My favorite cozy game is very similar to stardew valley but it has a lot more fantasy and decor aspects to it it’s called sun haven and i would def recommend it it’s still being updated as well and it only came out about a year ago
Great video. Tchia looks amazing and I literally just went and bought this game for ps5 with overnight shipping because of this video. I'm also downloading Palia as we speak.
Potionomics is a somewhat cozy potion tycoon game that requires a balance with time and stress, stress which is both an in game mechanic and a real response. It has a somewhat rough appearance because it looks like a crappy fake mobile game in parts, but it is otherwise a rock solid game
I appreciate this video so much! I'm so sick of the same copy paste and lack luster Stardew Valley/Animal Crossing knock offs that don't really do anything to add or change the concept
Great games, I think everybody can find some of their fav titles here. ❤ We're also leaving a small hint, that another cozy game is on the way - our Hotel Galactic is coming to Kickstarter very soon 👀
Try Not to Compare Everything to Stardew Challenge (Impossible). In all seriousness though Littlewood is so addicting and so underrated. The time being tied to stamina is genius cause I don’t have to feel guilty about going to bed with a ton of energy left like in Story of Seasons
This may be a little random but what cozy game would you like to play/be made? I’m looking for a simple game idea to make and I would love suggestions so I know I will make a game that people actually want to play, thank you :)
Highly recommend Potioncraft. You play as an apothecary and collect herbs and make potions for customers. The gameplay is interesting but not super challenging and you can go at your own pace.
Wow I'm actually hype to checkout Tchia now! Been a stressful month and sounds like just what I need . It's on Game Pass right now too so much appreciated, gonna give it a look
One game I love is Sky: Children of the Light. ...Would I say it's a good cozy game? Honestly, not really. Once you're done exploring it becomes a grindfest. Get your candles, maybe one day you can afford something kinda cool... But I still think more people should try it. It's free. It's pretty. It's "MMO" (only 8 people a server, but in small enough areas you WILL run into others). The barrier for socialization can be a little rough, but you can still crudely communicate through emotes (of which there are MANY, the primary progression of the game is unlocking new wacky emotes for your character... very fun). Do I recommend it long term? Probably not, if overpriced FOMO content gives you anxiety. I've played just over 100 hours and I'm at the point I don't find the base gameplay that fun anymore, but it's simple and straightforward enough that I just throw on a video or podcast and get both my dailies and the media I want to consume done at the same time. An imperfect game with immaculate vibes
I was wondering if this was a cosy game until I remembered what happened at the beginning of it, but just in case, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch seems like it might be more of a cozier game (especially for a JRPG)
So Kora…. You know how you spent like 2000 tickets trying to get Marry 😅 I got her in four tickets 😅 I don’t know how and you were so right shes adorable 🥹
I really, REALLY wanna know if Fashion Dreamer is totally worth it. It looks like such a fun cosy game, like something as braindead as "dress this person up a certain way" is what I need for my busy life right now. Can anyone confirm if Fashion Dreamer is worth getting or not? Please and thank you!! ^-^b
I personally didn’t play it, but I just watched a video that it’s not worth the price. It’s literally just dressing up the character and making clothes. Theres no storyline or anything else to it. They said on sale it’s worth it, but not for full price.
@lisaann2556 as mentioned, I'm not looking for a whole lot of story or anything, just some simple gameplay. So this might be perfect for me! ^-^ I've been playing Suika Game after work everyday and that doesn't have a super deep story, but it helps me relax after a busy day.
Another one is gta 5 I love just driving around and listening to music and for some reason when I go on the small road I keep hitting these crazy bumps
I really like sunhaven, definitely a star dew knock off, but I really enjoyed it like I enjoyed star dew. Lots of fun characters, multiple towns to progress. Combat that’s not hard but not always easy. It’s definitely on the furry side, but it’s a good game in my opinion.
I uninstalled Palia because of the storage. Not cozy if I can't store everything I want and always have to play storage manager. I want to go play the game not decide which things are important enough to keep.
5:00 bestie that is a cassowary - edit: I love that it's called that in dinkum nevermind. Also aussie is pronounced with a 'zed' kinda sound, auzzie. Just fyi haha

spiritfarer absolutely destroyed me i would absolutely recommend
i freaking love spiritfarer. it crushed my soul but it’s an absolute masterpiece
My sister loves that one. She's showed me and talked about it plenty of times. Doesn't look bad.
I was hoping spiritfarer would be a little lighter and sweeter than it is. There’s too much meanness and snark in the characters for me to really love it 😓 just as a psa for anyone who is like me
I think Spiritfarer better fits her previous video.

@@annavillarroel I had considered getting it for the Switch but I wasn't sure about it and for whatever reason simulator games tend to run horribly on Switch. But you've convinced me to at least give it a shot. Thank you :)
Hey! My name is Caito! That means I get to decorate in Dinkum!
I personally like cozy grove a lot, mostly because the art style and the character you interact with
I'd add Dave the Diver to the list. It definitely has a lot of the hallmarks of a cozy game.
has tense moments and fights though

Dave the Diver -- dive for food during the day and run a sushi restaurant in the evening
Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator -- run your own potions shop, from making the potions to haggling everyone to maximize profits
VA-11 Hall-A if you're a fan of Coffee Talk, it's more of a cyberpunk bartender vibe lol

It's nice to hear Kora's voice at 4:30 am here in Hawaii.

Smushi Come Home is a mix of A Short Hike, Lil Gator Game, Zelda, and it's such a cute lil game! TOTAL cozy vibes!
One game that feels cozy but in a strange way. Is “the planet crafter”. The game is comfortable yet there is that twinge of stress to keep you going
This list is really good! I like that you showed a bunch of different types of cozy games. Also the build next to Caito's build in that Dinkum clip you showed looks amazing!
I highly recommend Ooblets! It's like Pokémon but with dance battles!
Sunhaven seems really good, it's like Stardew.

The whole Atelier series is the very definition of Good Cozy Games, luv it, highly recommend
I don’t know if you can consider this a cozy game but Dave the diver is such a relaxing and comforting game for me right now
Kora, you should try Grow: Song of the Evertree.
I enjoy the activities in the game.
A Short Hike is a short but memorable masterpiece in the cozy genre.
A great cozy game I'd recommend is slime rancher and slime rancher 2, just a game of exploring, solving puzzles and farming slimes
I'd add spiritfarer to the list! it's one of my favorites
I really liked the game Firewatch. You basicly just walk around a beautiful Landscape and the Voice Acting is amazing. It's so relaxing😊
Have you played Lake yet? Kinda similar.
@@MissVindicat yes i did and i liked it
loveeee firewatch
I can't believe I'm mainlining Lego Fortnite
And you can tweak it to your own level of cozifications
Id say pokemon! The mechanics are pretty easy, (idk about yall) but i don't usually end up dying ever, the scenery is so pretty! And you're just collecting a bunch of pet friends! Idk, i think it works!
My favorite cozy game is very similar to stardew valley but it has a lot more fantasy and decor aspects to it it’s called sun haven and i would def recommend it it’s still being updated as well and it only came out about a year ago
Little Wood sounds more like Dark Cloud without the combat, since DC also had residents with preferences who rewarded you if you fulfilled them.
Great video. Tchia looks amazing and I literally just went and bought this game for ps5 with overnight shipping because of this video. I'm also downloading Palia as we speak.
My No.1 recommedation for a cozy game is probably "A short hike". Play it! Great vid btw
Potionomics is a somewhat cozy potion tycoon game that requires a balance with time and stress, stress which is both an in game mechanic and a real response. It has a somewhat rough appearance because it looks like a crappy fake mobile game in parts, but it is otherwise a rock solid game
Hearing you talk about palia reminds me of how I felt about pixie hollow when I was a kid
Big recommend for Dragon Quest Builders 1, played it on a whim years ago and it became one of my favorite games and got me into dragon quest
Coffee Talk ? The Brewster game we didn't get when we got Brewster ? Sounds like fun!!
I appreciate this video so much! I'm so sick of the same copy paste and lack luster Stardew Valley/Animal Crossing knock offs that don't really do anything to add or change the concept
Great games, I think everybody can find some of their fav titles here. ❤
We're also leaving a small hint, that another cozy game is on the way - our Hotel Galactic is coming to Kickstarter very soon 👀
Assemble with Care is another game along the lines of A Little to the Left and Unpacking that I'd highly recommend!!
My favorite cozy game from when I was a little girl was the original MySims for the Nintendo DS.
I’m looking for a simple game idea to make and I would love suggestions so I know I will make a game that people actually want to play, thank you :)
i personally really like cozy grove. it's a mix between animal crossing and spirit farer
Sky : Children of the light is one of the best cozy games
cavern of dreams is a pretty neat game. 3d platformer where a young dragon looks for his siblings.
I tired to play Tchia but I couldn’t figure out the map and sailing lol maybe I should go back to it and try again
I would suggest Staxel for anyone who is into economy/farming/exploring games
Definitely Fire Watch (if you enjoy solo adventures)
And No Man Sky (if you're into space exploration)
Ur voice is so calming!!!
My current favorite cozy game is Spirittea.
for me A Short Hike is one of the best cozy games
On some gaming arrival I've seen Doom Eternal categorized as a cozy game ! Doom Eternal!
Thank you for all the recommendations, your voice is really nice 🥹
I’m going through a flower infestation on my island 😭
Have you tried a short hike, tohu, and the lil alligator game?
A little to the left looks so fun! Is it on switch or PC? It looks so satisfying 💘
I think it's on both :)
Both! It’s also on mobile
So Kora…. You know how you spent like 2000 tickets trying to get Marry 😅 I got her in four tickets 😅 I don’t know how and you were so right shes adorable 🥹
Every cozy game ever: F A R M I N G
It’s definitely on the furry side, but it’s a good game in my opinion.
very cozy game I recently played was AER...
I uninstalled Palia because of the storage. Not cozy if I can't store everything I want and always have to play storage manager. I want to go play the game not decide which things are important enough to keep.
Have fun on your vacation!
Slime Rancher 1 and 2, Va11-HallA
We are late to the cozy game. Japan's been pumping out Iyashikei since the late 70's.
ayyeee tony made it to the big screen! good for him!
5:00 bestie that is a cassowary - edit: I love that it's called that in dinkum nevermind. Also aussie is pronounced with a 'zed' kinda sound, auzzie. Just fyi haha
I love littlewood so much
one game i find very cozy is i was a teenage exocolonist
STARDEW IS NOT A COZY GAME!!! Let alone one of the big 2, it’s an anxiety inducing hellscape that you need an encyclopaedia for from day 1.
