Thank you so much to this amazing, articulate speaker! She has put this so clearly- I felt like it was my own thoughts pouring out of my head and being told back to me in a coherent way! I would love to hear more about the deschooling process, the usual trains of thought that parents have during this stage, as I am in the middle of it and getting quite stressed! I would also love to hear about the psychology behind self directed learning, I can’t wait to read her book! :)

    Hi Naomi !
Wow this was amazing. This is exactly my story with taking my son out of school at 15 after such a struggle. The autism diagnosis wasnt enough as the system was so wrong for him. He is 20 now and a total self learner and such a well adjusted clever and insightful boy.
I really jumped against public judgement but i stand my my choice and totally believe it was the right thing for him. To hear your words i feel so supported. Thanks Naomi xxx

It is so nice to know there are others who see this approach as a sane way to raise kids… and from around the world!

Thank you so much. I love the idea of self directed learning. You both were on point.
