The Almond Croissant reminds me of a Bear Claw, which is very popular here in the US, and was my mother's favorite pastry. Every year I eat one on her birthday.
Merci Lucile! I will use this information if I ever get back to Paris! I have been a few times before and now feel that I probably was eating mass produced croissants but did not know it. I definitely would get up early and go to one of these that you recommend!
Merci beaucoup… I have suffered many terrible croissants on my frequent visits to France and now I am saved. I can now find the crunchy, buttery and fresh ones I love. Incidentally I prefer the 10th especially near the canal.
An original boulangerie is found in the 20ième, Le Bricheton. It has real traditional products. Another one worth mentioning is Au levain des Pyrénées.
Lucile, you're great! Being a lifelong croissant-lover (well, almost lifelong) I was superglad to learn from your tastings and even more from the additional cultural information you provide. BTW, I bought your book. 🙂
That guy is so lucky your so beautiful I've been to Paris in ,1973i was young man then love Paris as a young artist it blew my mind Paris is so beautiful I was I could return but money is hard I'm retired but I do love Paris thank you for your show you are just stunning
Hi Lucile! Thanks for another fun video! You definitely educate me about different foods and where they come from! I’m glad you’re enjoying your croissants!
Hi/Bonjour Lucile, Thank you so much for these recommendations. I’ll be staying in the 10th when I visit Paris again in May, so this is very helpful. I’m looking forward to eating!
Im going to Paris ,, first time next December , im going to stay for six weeks ,, nice to get imformation by a local ,,, thank you for the video ,,, ( I ve just suscribed to your channel)
I had the opportunity to stay in Paris for just one day in early October, and visited "Mamiche" that you introduced, and tried the croissants. They were so delicious that they couldn't be compared to the ones I had in my home country (Japan), and I regretted not being able to visit more than once due to my short stay. Thank you for introducing me to such a wonderful shop.
Thank you so much for this video. Me and my daughter are staying in Paris just for four days, but we are tasting as many croissants as possible. And also croissant amande! Wow, what a treat! Everything tastes amazing here:-)
I was just in Paris a month ago, and getting a real, delicious Parisian croissant was so important to me.... that I literally missed my flight home because I refused to go to the airport without first grabbing a croissant 😂🥐 Luckily they were able to rebook me, so, totally worth it
Hi, Lucille! Thanks so much for your wonderful videos! It's obvious you put a lot of work into making them. My sweet wife Ping and I are visiting Paris for the first time. We arrived a few days ago. We're planning on visiting your favorite croissant bakery soon! Wishing you all the best! John!
Stohrer 😍 I like it too much ❤. I believe that it’s the best Boulangerie in Paris .✅ Not only a croissant . U have to try the eclair , kouglof and desserts . It’s amazing WOW 😍😋
Thank you for this awesome video! I watched it before visiting Paris, and the Croissants at Mamiche are the best I've had in my entire life! The staff is also lovely. Sending gratitude and good energy your way! 😊
Both Yan Couvreur and Baptiste are some of my favorites (you got to love the Batignolles 😅)… besides the croissant, at Yan I usually have the Roulé Pistache Gianduja(c’est une dinguerie🎉) and at Baptiste the baguette aux graines(and the Éclair au café, and thé pain aux raisins, and thé croissant aux amandes, and…..well, the list goes on and on😅) One thing that you touched on, and I really can’t wrap my head around is the pricing of bread and viennoiserie… I mean, how can they manage to deliver such quality in a handmade artisanal good for such a low price?? I’d be fine paying 4-5€ for such quality, that’s basically what I pay anywhere else…in London, a croissant in a artisanal French bakery goes for 4£+. Don’t get me wrong, I love paying 1-2€ for a artisanal croissant or a baguette… My best theory is that after 1789, none DARED to raise the price of bread😂😂😂 The price is controlled by fear alone…and I LOVE IT
I've lived in Paris a couple of years ago and I'm a bit surprised. A couple of the places you recommend shouldnt be on this list! Stohrer is known for their old school pastries and Poilane is known for their sourdough bread. Both of their croissants are meh. The other places are well known establishments, nothing new here. Du pain et des idees is pretty old school but good. I went to Chez Munier but they served lunch and had 0 croissants. Couvrer- skip and go to l'eclair du genie instead, fantastic new wave croissant. Boulangerie Uopie also has great croissants. I just returned from Paris and also tried the French Bastards, very nice modern croissant. If you had one day to try different croissant you should go near canal st. Martin, you have Utopie, Liberte, du Pain et des Idees all near each other. Have a good day ❤ ❤❤❤
Croissant aux amandes is the best (I buy it every other day, from several patissiers in Brussels). But is very, very hard to find a great one. Thanks for the tip, curious to try the ones in Paris 😍
Bonjour Lucile, I knew watching this video would be a mistake. I've not had croissant, good or bad, in one year. Now I can not sleep. Tomorrow, croissants!! There must be one in this direction!
Love your videos! I'll just add to order un croissant au beurre which is straight, as we see that yours are in this video. Avoid the croissant ordinaire which will be made with margarine or oil but not butter and will be crescent shaped. Now I need to go find one of these shops and get a croissant au beurre!
Thank you for sharing this , but I guessing if you no live close to one of those amazing boulangeries you find the nearest to you with good queues in the morning and you no be disappointed.
Mamiche croissants were the best for me. Not far away from Bouillon Republique. Around 3pm there was even a queue at the entrance. Strohler sold me yesterday's croissants at 11am (( but at least their babka (brioche ?) with chocolate and nuts was good Chez Meunier croissants were fresh and good, but indeed not as buttery as Mamiche BTW, here in Germany croissants with almonds are called Marzipan Croissant)))
bravo : Du Pain et des Idées en first choice, that's a Must :)) Je pense qu'il manque "La Maison d'Isablelle" et Solques Bruno (rue St Jacques) : ce dernier pour le côté assumé ultra beurré, cheerz
A total sensory experience, all the senses are engaged. It has a slightly elastic pull......I lived in Paris for a decade and now I am getting more educated via "Lucile". But also in the '70's the French were very proud of the quality of their food and I hope they weren't using industrialized frozen patisserie.
On est d'accord le croissant aux amandes est le meilleur! As tu déjà testé Land and Monkey, VG pâtisserie, Cloud Cake, Comptoir Veggie et autres lieux vegan? Ca serait sympa d'avoir un comparatif avec les traditionnels.
Perfect timing! I am in Paris right now and will try your top croissant boulangeries! By the way, have you tried Cedric Grolet? Do you think it's good or just a hype?
Oh really cool :) Let me know which ones you end up trying!! I have not tried Cedric Grolet because the line is too long! I feel our time is better used doing something else haha I might do a video about it one day to see if it is worth the hype and report back though :)
The kind of croissants we have in Brazil looks like the industrialized ones in this videos. And, yes, we do stuff them but ours it is not buttery like in France.
This morning I had marmalade on toast with a cup of Milo and reminisced about my French travels and bakery breakfasts. Do you know Eugene and Frederique?
In another video about the best croissants in Paris, a TH-camr called "Luis" says, the croissant from "De pain et des idèes" had a definite taste of vanilla added to it. So it couldn't be only those four ingredients?
Hmmm, I usually eat croissant at breakfast so a big coffee with milk! If I eat croissant aux amandes it's for an afternoon snack so I prefer green tea :)
Sometimes i eat my croissant dry, sometimes i like ti vut a little pocket and out butter inside. I dip the chocolate croissant in my coffee. Ive broken 'rules' but I dont care
I have read that you should eat a big meal early in the day, because you need the energy for the day. By the evening you should eat a small meal, as you sit on a couch and do nothing.
Bonjour Lucille!
in these bakeries one of the main ingredients is butter! I’ve heard of Land and Monkeys for vegan croissants and I personally always go to chambelland (gluten free with a lot of vegan treats too)

🤣👍
I remember it too😂😂
Facts
I feel like I live in a Croissantless world, Thanks for making my mouth water😋
love this!
The Almond Croissant reminds me of a Bear Claw, which is very popular here in the US, and was my mother's favorite pastry. Every year I eat one on her birthday.
I love those sorts of traditions!
Why the 10th? Do you stay at a particular hotel there? I lived in Paris years ago but it’s been a long time!
Wow, now I need a croissant 😍
You already ate all the leftovers from the video :O
An original boulangerie is found in the 20ième, Le Bricheton. It has real traditional products. Another one worth mentioning is Au levain des Pyrénées.
I enjoy fresh baked goods ! Thank you again for the wonderful tour and great knowledge too Lucy
You're welcome!
You have the most beautiful smile that lights the entire room.
Lucile, you're great! Being a lifelong croissant-lover (well, almost lifelong) I was superglad to learn from your tastings and even more from the additional cultural information you provide. BTW, I bought your book. 🙂

Hi Alison, so good seeing you here :) Thank you for your nice comment as always!
@@LucileHR You’re welcome and thank you too Lucile!
WOW! Your food looks so delicious, now I’m mouthwatering, friend. Thanks for your sharing ❤🥰😍
Hi/Bonjour Lucile,
Thank you so much for these recommendations. I’ll be staying in the 10th when I visit Paris again in May, so this is very helpful. I’m looking forward to eating!
Bonjour and Hi :) I love the 10th and a lot of the places I recommended are nearby! I hope you have a really fun stay in Paris!
Im going to Paris ,, first time next December , im going to stay for six weeks ,, nice to get imformation by a local ,,, thank you for the video ,,, ( I ve just suscribed to your channel)
Go to the French Bastards or l'eclair the genie, they are the best new boulangeries right now.
I had the opportunity to stay in Paris for just one day in early October, and visited "Mamiche" that you introduced, and tried the croissants. They were so delicious that they couldn't be compared to the ones I had in my home country (Japan), and I regretted not being able to visit more than once due to my short stay. I love your experiential take on everything! You’re helping us Americans feel a little cooler!
Thank you :)
I just had my croissant at baptiste in botignolles and I came here to say HUGE thank you, I swear this is the best croissant of my life
I was just in Paris a month ago, and getting a real, delicious Parisian croissant was so important to me.... that I literally missed my flight home because I refused to go to the airport without first grabbing a croissant 😂🥐 Luckily they were able to rebook me, so, totally worth it
Such a funny story!! Happy they were able to rebook you!
John!
understanding you r in a relationship, as I feel your eye are so beautiful. I also love French breads and pastries. I love French baguette.
I made sure that the first thing I could do when learning French was being able to order bread! This video looks so delicious!
You have a good sense of priorities haha
This was super fun and it made my mouth water lucky you living in Paris🎉
Thank you for watching :)
Honestly, in France and Spain you can get top quality bread almost anywhere. I love it!
I love how this feels like a subtle response to that Luis video about croissants. Subscribed!
I love love the Luis video about croissants and I am very happy to be mentioned in the same sentence haha
Almond croissants are my favorite!! ❤❤❤❤ Glad to know I will be able to get one
Hi love to see videos on micro bites or super foods from 🇫🇷. Thanks for great video.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE a great croissant 🥐 cheers Lucile🥂
yummm!! :)
Stohrer 😍
I like it too much ❤.
I believe that it’s the best Boulangerie in Paris .✅
Not only a croissant . U have to try the eclair , kouglof and desserts . It’s amazing WOW 😍😋
They are more famous for kouign amann than croissants you should try them
This is why I keep goimg back to Paris.
:D
Thank you for this awesome video! I watched it before visiting Paris, and the Croissants at Mamiche are the best I've had in my entire life! The staff is also lovely. Sending gratitude and good energy your way! 😊
You used to be able to go anywhere in Paris and everywhere you’d get the same perfectly delicious, fresh, buttery croissants!
« Du pain et des idées » it’s my fav ❤
Both Yan Couvreur and Baptiste are some of my favorites (you got to love the Batignolles 😅)… besides the croissant, at Yan I usually have the Roulé Pistache Gianduja(c’est une dinguerie🎉) and at Baptiste the baguette aux graines(and the Éclair au café, and thé pain aux raisins, and thé croissant aux amandes, and…..well, the list goes on and on😅)

The price is controlled by fear alone…and I LOVE IT
Miam miam miam!! I need to try your recommendations!
And absolutely for the prices, when we were living in NY we just gave up and ate bagels haha

Put chocolate spread in to it omg heaven that what I do when I buy them in Ireland 🇮🇪
You have spoiled me! I had not eaten more than 5 croissants in my whole life, but now I eat about 2 a day! délicieux!
Croissant aux amandes is the best (I buy it every other day, from several patissiers in Brussels). But is very, very hard to find a great one. Thanks for the tip, curious to try the ones in Paris 😍

I'll be again in Paris next week. I was wondering if you had any other cool places to suggest. Also for savoury things and bread....

Very good video. Life without a good 🥐, a good 🥖 and a good 🧀 is not worth living. 🤣 😂
Now I have a mission when I’m in Paris in October.
love it :D
J’adore les croissants et ceux aux amandes!! 😊 Maintenant, j’ai vraiment envie d’en manger, mais au Qc, les croissants-maison sont plus rares…
Miam!! :)
You are delightful!
Could you rate mains dans le farine croissants? They do plain as well as chocolate and pistachio, it’d be great to know what you think of them!
A total sensory experience, all the senses are engaged. It has a slightly elastic pull......I lived in Paris for a decade and now I am getting more educated via "Lucile". But also in the '70's the French were very proud of the quality of their food and I hope they weren't using industrialized frozen patisserie.
We used to get excellent Croissants at the Boulangerie St. Louis, 80 Rue Saint-Louis en l'Île. However, we were very hungry and not very picky.
On est d'accord le croissant aux amandes est le meilleur! As tu déjà testé Land and Monkey, VG pâtisserie, Cloud Cake, Comptoir Veggie et autres lieux vegan? Ca serait sympa d'avoir un comparatif avec les traditionnels.
From Luis to Lucile, the french revolution died down
Lucy, are there unsafe places vistters should think about visiting?
Interesting how soft and creamy most of them seem. Here in California bakery croissants tend to have very crunchy exteriors.
I feel our time is better used doing something else haha
I might do a video about it one day to see if it is worth the hype and report back though :)
Love it!!!!
Thanks very helpful, looking forward to trying some of these on an upcoming trip!
Humm, je me réveille et j'ai envie de manger un croissant et une chocolatine ! Bisous
Hi (Bonjour!) Lucille, what about if we have long layover... do you thing we can visit or enjoy some good breakfast there? Merci.
J'ai aimé la vidéo, je vais faire de mon mieux pour tout essayer😄. La question du moment, pourquoi tu tiens un blaireau pour rasage pendant la vidéo?🤣
Bien sympas tes vidéos sur la France ;)
Merci :D
Damn I wish there were bakerys like that here in L.A.! Great video! 💯
Thank you! :)
I'm salivating haha
The kind of croissants we have in Brazil looks like the industrialized ones in this videos. And, yes, we do stuff them but ours it is not buttery like in France.
This morning I had marmalade on toast with a cup of Milo and reminisced about my French travels and bakery breakfasts. Do you know Eugene and Frederique?
No I don't know them, are they a bakery?? :)
No, I am just being silly.
Is Mamiche open? It says on Google that it is temporarily closed?
Hi Lucile and thanks for the video, can you kindly add the address of the bakeries you shop at in the description?
Just added it! Thanks for reminding me, I actually posted late last night and forgot :)
In another video about the best croissants in Paris, a TH-camr called "Luis" says, the croissant from "De pain et des idèes" had a definite taste of vanilla added to it. So it couldn't be only those four ingredients?
Im so glad I found other weird people like me that are obsessed with croissants
Random recommendation but. What a beautiful voice, beautiful woman… I’m a real sucker for French accents!
What is your favorite drink to pair with a croissant?
Hmmm, I usually eat croissant at breakfast so a big coffee with milk! If I eat croissant aux amandes it's for an afternoon snack so I prefer green tea :)
Boza?@@LucileHR
Would be nice if you added where the boulangerie is located or at least arrondissement.
Do youi have to ask for a croissant au beurre, I was told that. Thx
Bonjour!
I want to know the difference between “Croissant au beurre” and “Croissant ordinaire”.
Le meilleur croissant que j'ait jamais gouté c'était celui de "La maison d'Isabelle", nommé meilleur croissant en 2018!!
Sometimes i eat my croissant dry, sometimes i like ti vut a little pocket and out butter inside. I dip the chocolate croissant in my coffee. Ive broken 'rules' but I dont care
Flour. Butter. Milk. Eggs.
What about pastry stars like Pierre Herme or Cedric Grolet?
I've not tried Cedric Grolet because I don't like waiting in line haha but one day I'll do it :)
😮Can you recommend a hotel close to this bakery ?
Did you discuss with Luis?
Cette mai, je visite France, j'espere mange le coissant!
I luv buddar too.
I believe the croissant original you tried has no butter but made with oil....
I have read that you should eat a big meal early in the day, because you need the energy for the day. By the evening you should eat a small meal, as you sit on a couch and do nothing.
Your getting bad intel
The French way is to eat the other way round, breakfast is very small or non existent, luch is larger and dinner is the biggest meal. No snacking!
Depends on your schedule, metabolism, body type, etc. Find what works for you, and the way you live.
The correct way is 30 days off 30 days on
Just walk for 10 minutes after your meal and you’re good.
Is it filled with condensed milk?
I wish you told us the arrondismonts they were in
Mamiche is CLOSED?
Only for two weeks! You scared me haha
Ohhh, well, I am glad for that! I couldn't find any information! THANKS@@LucileHR ♥
Bonjour Lucille!
Are there vegan croissants in any of these bakeries?
in these bakeries one of the main ingredients is butter! I’ve heard of Land and Monkeys for vegan croissants and I personally always go to chambelland (gluten free with a lot of vegan treats too)
keep it up. you found it.
Thank youuuu :)
Krasaaaaaaawn
How many times did she say the word Croissant in this video lol 😂
holy... i thought it was rosalia in the thumbnail haha.
Best chocolatines then?
