Les Frenchies are part of my Saturday morning too. This and the enchanting Gorogoro Kitchen. Despite living in France, I learn more about Paris from these two vlogs than actually visiting Paris. It is a delight!
Cutting the Pain au chocolat with an Opinel knife. Absolutely French!! I remember my Baguette with camembert and saucisson from my early days in France and in boarding school!! 🙂
Headed to Paris on March break with my mom for a girls trip. I just discovered your channel and I'm so obsessed. You're really helping us make the most of our time there!
My daughter found Du Pain et des Idées, on our trip to Paris just when covid hit, nearly exactly to the day, four years ago. It was only 2mins walk from where we were staying. Pain chocolate was our favourite, we visited everyday!!! Lovely people, beautiful shop, devine goodies. ❤ Lovely memories 💖
Saturday morning. Coffee in Bed. Watching this video with my husband. He turned to me and in his accent said “ cat-reen, ou mek zuh beat pain Au Chocolat “ I headed to Amazon to order chocolate batons because someone is getting a Valentines treat!!
Saturday mornings with Les Frenchies, what could be better! I wish I’d had a pain as chocolat to enjoy along with you here at home, but I’ll definitely keep the 4 o’clock time open later this year when I visit again. Merci Colleen, Antoine & Sylvie!
I love you two! I got to cross Paris off of my bucket list in 2016. It quickly became my favorite city in the world! We had a little bakery right across from our airb&b that allowed me to practice my limited French and get some amazing food! Every Saturday is like a quick trip back to my favorite city! Thanks for making my heart so happy! ✌🏼🤟🏼
Gawwwd !... Miam, miam, 😋I can feel the delicate crunchiness, the soft elastic texture of the inside and the buttery smell until here in the middle of the Swiss Alps, lol.
Oh, how I miss Paris! Great choices - These boulangeries have many other stellar treats: The madelines at Blé Sucré, the sandwiches at The French Bastards, and one of my favorite baked goods in Paris is the Mouna at Du Pain et des Idées. Oh, and thier chocolat-pistache escargots. Yum, thank you!!!
Last summer we stayed at a hotel that was walking distance from le Blé Sucré - I agree it’s awesome! The staff were very friendly and it was nice to sit and eat in the park directly opposite. My only wish (for all bakeries in Paris) would be better coffee!
I love chocolate croissants with a banana and cup coffee . ❤❤❤❤I've never had the one with banana in it tho . And I never had a bad croissants in Paris . ❤❤❤❤ I just love yall .
Hi Colleen and Antoine: Saturday morning - second cup of coffee here in NYC -watching your excellent pain au chocolate boulangerie suggestions! Thanks so much. Enjoy the day and ignore the cranky posts! You always have superb videos and suggestions. Cheers! ✨❤️✨❤️✨❤️
Since I’ve subscribed here I’ve learned so much. All the croissants you had looked amazingly delicious. Thanks for pointing out the ‘healthy’ ones 😀as I’d be concerned in how much they’d affect the digestive track but when in Paris do as anyone would give them a try.. Merci 👏👏👏
Bonjour Antoine and Coleen. I thought I knew about croissants before I went to Paris. Then I experienced pain au chocolat. But this video opened new doors that I will experience when I return. Thank you for such delicious entertainment on a Saturday morning. Merci beaucoup 😊
YUMMM. I tried one at Mamiche that was really good too, with Valhrona chocolate. I'm in Paris next week and may need to seek out Sain for that pain au chocolat aux amandes based on your rave reviews!
Taking notes for my second trip to Paris next year. I may contact Sylvia. She has a great attitude and informative. Thanks for another wonderful video.
Every time I go to paris, I have a list of restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, events, and sites I add onto a Google map where I have them all pinned. This map has shown all the places I’ve gone to every time I go to paris and I’ve been going back every year for the last decade. The map is quite filled now, and lots of your suggestions have ended up on my map. Du pain et des idées was the last Boulangerie I went to in paris! Me and my friends also ate at that exact same counter outside. The pain au chocolates were indeed the bomb.
Pain au Chocolat is my go to brekkie choice, along with baguette and jam. Growing up in Australia, banana sandwiches were a staple! A frozen banana covered in chocolate is still an amazing treat. Will download the app for our next trip next year!
Hello guys!! Fans of your work. Seen so many videos and that is why we will be there towards the end of the month. Would love to treat you to lunch or dinner if not too busy❤. We will show you some new york and dominican hospitality🎉. Keep on the great work guys. We love you!!!
We just finished our week vacation in Paris…your tips were very helpful! My favorite thing I ate in Paris was the sweet bread at Aux Merveilleux de Fred!
The reason why croissants, pain au choco and anything that is laminated is so good in France is because they use real butter (and good quality) and flour that is not bleached or over processed. They give it time to proof (ferment). In North America, there is LOTS of supermarket products that are using vegetable oils and a ton of additives to speed up the process.
We love watching your videos over a nice cup of coffee. Antoine seemed a bit serious about the pain au chocolat/chocolatine topic, Colleen if I were you I would refer it as chocolatine just to poke fun at him. Love you guys ☺

I LOVE croissants! I only eat them when in Europe especially in France. However, I never understood putting chocolate (no matter how good it is) on bread? 🤔
Silvia's @frenchxican_a is THE BEST Food tour Guide in Paris! Last summer we took her food tour around the beautiful Marché d'Aligre and we can't recommend it enough: everything was delicious and Silvia is very nice, warm and professional 👏👏👏
For sure, the Sain and the bakery with chocolate and banana pain. No dinner, just wine, some cheese, and some bread in the beautiful bakery with many prizes in the afternoon. I should walk a lot so as not to gain weight.
