How Farmers Grow Thousands of Mussels on a Rope

Mussels are a type of shellfish, commonly found in both freshwater and saltwater environments worldwide, and are known by their elongated shells, which are typically dark blue or black in color.
Blue mussels are found in temperate coastal waters of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and Green mussels are native to the Indian and Pacific Oceans, particularly in tropical and subtropical waters.
There are various ways to farm mussels, each method is similar in the way that you supply the mussels with something to attach to, such as a rope, a bag, a tray, a pylon or log that can either be placed in the ground or suspended by a rope.
One of the most common methods of farming mussels are on ropes. This can either be in the form of dangling long ropes down in the water, which are attached to one long rope near the surface.
