"Stuck On The Puzzle" I'm not the kind of fool Who's gonna sit and sing to you, About stars, girl. But last night I looked up into The dark half of the blue, And they'd gone backwards. Something in your magnetism Must have pissed them off, Forcing them to get an early night. I have been searching from The bottom to the top For such a sight As the one I caught when I saw your Fingers dimming the lights Like you're used to being told that you're trouble And I spent all night Stuck on the puzzle Nobody I asked Knew how he came to be the one To whom you surrendered Any man who wasn't led away Into the other room Stood pretending That something in your magnetism Hadn't just made him drop Whoever's hand it was that he was holding. I have been searching from The bottom to the top For such a sight As the one I caught when I saw your Fingers dimming the lights Like you're used to being told that you're trouble And I spent all night Stuck on the puzzle I tried to swim to the side But my feet got caught in the middle And I thought I'd seen the light But oh no. I was just stuck on the puzzle Stuck on the puzzle.
...but my feet got caught In The Middle... (red bird sings from the sycamore tree)...their exquisite harmonic vocalizations as the song is ending take my breath away. This could be a single. Watching this, you can see what a treat they are to see live. This is what you get - intimate, luminous music that pulls you in like the Sirens....
Listen to how locked-in the sister's voices are when they begin this song. They're in unison but it might as well be one voice. Slowly, beautifully, they start introducing that ear-candy harmony. Lily is so awesome...she is a true color-singer. So simple and effortless. Madeleine? What can I say? She's so good it's kind of spooky. Shannon Hayden is a genius too...that strange pizzicato stuff she does in the latter half of this song has such a light touch, you almost can't hear it...and then that fX pedal bow-driven stuff she adds in the outro....wow!

Yay! Saw the Sisters perform this live! Last night, at the parish Summer Social. Lily was playing an electric ax too. Strumming with her whole hand. Awesome. th-cam.com/video/FOyFiDP_-cE/w-d-xo.html Set List - 6/26/2015 at the Summer Social: 1. Fumes 2. Rabbit 3. Rhiannon (Fleetwood Mac) 4. I'm Looking Through You (Beatles) 5. Bad Moon Rising (Creedence) 6.And Tonight 7. Paradise 8. Don't Dream It's Over (Crowded House) 9. Blue Ridge Mountains (Fleet Foxes) 10. Stuck on the Puzzle (Alex Turner/Arctic Monkeys) Love the way they respect the old timers and man, do they do a nice job. Their voices are just the bomb. Sophisticated, gorgeous covers...perfectly performed on the north side of Naptown (Indy), on a stormy night where the Devil We Know was roaring and raining and drove the crowd - and Lily and Madeleine - inside. Go to their Facebook to hear their killer cover of "I'm Looking Through You" by Paul McCartney. They rocked out "Bad Moon Rising" too.
Chuck Dean I have a video of them doing "Don't Dream It's Over". Damn are they good! Bought some schwag too. A nice soft T-Shirt with this folk-art looking Victorian image of "L & M" and then a tote bag with the Wolf from the Wolf is Free on it. For my lady. We sang along to the covers. I sang harmonies on their great songs. Would love to hear them do more Beatles. And Joni Mitchell. Oh, and their songs too! They are great songwriters and their songs fit right in to a timeless continuum of fine songs.
Chuck Dean Yes, I can hear them singing some emotional, devotional hymns. There are two videos on youtube of them doing "Holy, Holy, Holy" and "In the Bleak Midwinter" that demonstrate this. Beautiful. Looks like it was recorded in someone's living room. I think they could retire for life by doing a Christmas album that mixed originals and classics.
I Like this But not as much as the Original because its the OOMPH of the music that Captured me. And the Instruments in this are a little light for It... 8/10!
great song - these girls are soo fantastic - absolutely brilliant (song was written by alex turner - artic monkeys - from sheffield england - which isn't manchester buy hey ho)

Musically superb, lyrically breathtaking; a poem in sound and tone

I hearing this when i'm feel so frustated, and instantly everything so blue , dramatic.

No one else compares.
I would truly love to hear them sing Amazing Grace.

This cover has such a melancholy sound. But it’s peaceful.
Madeleine is simply one of loveliest and most talented of singers.
These "Two" are not "One" without the other.
I want to hear the sisters cover "River"by Joni Mitchell. "I wish I had a river I could skate away on." Christmas album?
Had no clue you were based in Indy! Some hometown pride.
