Yeah sometimes the planets don't align and the fishing can be very average. Nice spot though who would have thought straight across from the Gold Coast
Im really glad I found your channel, Im new to Australia and this is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for. I have looked at Straddie before on they yak but it always looked like it might be a bit far or an unsafe crossing. Is there a nearby launching point that you used?
Welcome to Australia! I launched from Shearwater Park, it's an easy paddle across. Try and go at either high or low tide. If you're interested in more places to camp and fish off your Yak then have a look through my back catalogue of videos as they are all achievable on a Yak. Regards Paul
@@Getgowinthanks mate, spent most of the weekend sleeping but the videos I did manage to watch have given me some solid wanderlust! Im super keen to do some exploring soon.
It is illegal to remove someone elses crab pot even if it is not labeled and obviously abandoned. That's probably why the others wouldn"t take it. I think it would be poor form to fine you for doing that but it is possible. Another well known TH-camr did a video on removing abandoned pots from a creek and got a phone call to warn him not to do it again.
Trevor is correct and from what I understand the fines are pretty substantial. Its a ridiculous rule because its never prevented anyone from stealing others crabs but has prevented people from removing abandoned nets which wreck the environment.
Good to see your back on the water. Great video as usual 👌
Thanks Lee it’s been far too long
You got over 1000 subs now! That's awesome! Congratulations!
Thanks Rick, it’s from support from guys like you who support my channel. Greatly appreciated. Cheers Paul
Awesome video 👌
Thanks Sam Sam, let me know when you’re up this way and we can head out for an adventure.

Best to report the “ghost trap” to fisheries. They will come and collect it.
Great to know Scott, there were a few of them there laying around. Thanks for watching. Cheers Paul
isn't it illegal to collect old pots? i understand you frustrations
Not sure about it being illegal, I just didn’t want a turtle or dugong getting tangled up in the rope.

Thanks Trevor, good to know. They’re also supposed to have the owners name and number, but this had nothing to do. Cheers Paul

Welcome back Paul. Your fortnightly adventures have been missed. Bad luck about the paddle.
Thanks Ken, yeah I can always buy another. Looking forward to getting out there again. Cheers Paul
