hi bro i am using maya2022, i follow your tutorial step to setup raindrop to PART 2 data. but i am not sure why i can not found EXR filename input column at BossEXRfluence1. can you solve the problem? 👍301
There should be a "use sequence" checkbox like in the file texture node instead of having to use a token, relying on a tutorial to know this doesn't make it very intuitive.
great tutorial man . can you help me please , when i import .exr to cache i received this message ( cache/Boss/water_test_new.mb/BossGeoProperties1/BossGeoProperties1..exr does not exists! Please check // ) please tell me what i did wrong !!. thanks
Sounds like either you didn't generate a cache properly, or possibly that you're reading from a different location than you wrote the cache to. I'd double check the folder on your hard drive to make sure those .exr caches are there.
@@Autodesk_Maya Hi, I had the same issue as G4arts. I was trying to create my own ripple map in After Effects then exported it as OpenEXR sequence. I used green as the color of the ripple and black as the background. I placed the sequence inside the cache>BOSS folder of the project. I've checked the EXR sequence and it plays fine in a video player. Then I did just like you did, I linked the EXR image sequence and changed to the correct naming conventions. Still I am getting the error like above .exr does not exists! Please check // ) By any chance you would know why this happens? Thanks!
Maya Learning Channel yes I’m pretty sure I have. Though it seemed to worked if I use an exr sequence that is cached/ generated from Maya. Sorry I’ve got another two questions though. I hope you don’t mind ;) 1.I was trying to create a ripple effect that spreads right under the boat. But since I created the ripple effect on another file like you did, it doesn’t quite match up with the position of the boat when I import that exr map into the first file where I have my boat and waves. Is it possible to move the map around after imported to make sure I get it to be at the right spot? 2. Does order matters between ‘spectral wave solver’ and ‘wave solver’ in the boss editor. For instance, I had my ripple effect created before I made the waves, that means the wave solver is on top of the spectral wave solver in the editor. When I combine the two, I can see the ripples working fine on the waves. However I tried another time where I created the waves first, then the ripples, and the ripples just get covered up by the waves completely. Sorry about the load of questions. Thanks again!
@@Tobsters755 1.) You could project the map onto your ocean as shown in part 3 of this tutorial, then offset the projection until it appears under your boat. 2.) The order shouldn't matter since the effects are added to each other cumulatively.
can we do this with instance

Which key you use for 3d cursor
How did you open the "EXR" file?
I used an image sequence viewer (in this case, DJView)
Creating a wet map tutorials pls
the example file does not contain the scene !! I see a boat and tree and bolders
That stuff is for Appendix B. There's technically no file for this one since you just start it from scratch (as shown in the video).
Good tutorial keep going on we need from you

Can you do a tutorial a waterfall simulation please
You can actually find an example waterfall simulation in Maya's Content Browser under the Bifrost tab.

Good tute. But, the repeated "shout-outs" to Trotsky really aren't necessary.
