Just to emphasize - DO NOT TRY THIS, IT IS FATAL. Over 34 people in America alone have died trying this, including 2 electricians. Always read descriptions.

Yes, I actually scrolled through almost all of the fractal wood burning videos and reported them all as harmful/dangerous acts. It took forever but it was worth it. TH-cam has removed 4 of them so far!

@@Prim120 That is FANTASTIC! Most of these people posting these videos are so belligerent I think this is the best way. I have been doing a few videos at a time. I noticed one has disappeared. I think we need to get to the point when any and all videos relating to how to do the process, even safety videos are impossibe to find and in its place there are tons of "DO NOT EVER DO THIS" videos. And those will only work if the video maker is not breaking their own rule.

    • @Prim120

@@mafurock33 Exactly!! If someone sees someone else doing something, having a warning won't stop them. They'll look up other videos and think they're an expert, and decide they are fine to go ahead and try it because it's only dangerous to "normal" or "other" people. Just don't post the video, that's the only way you can rest assured knowing you didn't have a hand in this kind of danger.

    • @mafurock33

@@Prim120 I think with this channel especially, they are getting a lot of views so they really need to be willing to make the choice to make the safety of human life more important than financial gain. Hopefully youtube steps in and cleans all these videos out soon.

This is absolutely dangerous. I work industrial maintenance where I have to troubleshoot electrical components on a daily basis and I wouldn’t even try this. All it takes is for a novice to loose their footing and bump against that and then ground their self out killing them. Shoot what if something falls on that pice of wood like dust or whatever and without thinking you go to pick it up. A persons natural instinct can kill them with this type of project. There should be a disclaimer on here or something dang. I mean how many times have people dropped knives and without thinking go to grab it before it hits the ground. It’s not that the person is stupid it’s just that we have natural instincts and that natural instinct can kick in before the mind even has time to react or think. If you don’t care about yourself then think about your kids and wife. If they walk out and your being electrocuted their first response would be to run up and grab you to see if your ok and then next thing you know they are being electrocuted. Be safe and think before doing these types of projects.

I'm an electrical engineer who works with high voltage transformers. You should remove this video. The method of wood burning that you show is extremely dangerous. You are holding one probe in your hand while voltage is traveling through it and your safety gloves don't look like they are rated for high voltages. You are spraying water, a conductor, on the wood that has high voltage being applied to it. This could cause an arc in your water spray. You are standing very close to the wood while applying voltage, if you brush up against it, you could be electrocuted. I noticed your safety video was removed, that should give you a hint that this video should be removed as well.

I'm sorry, where in the video do you see a "clear warning"? The only warning is a brief warning in the description, but many people do not read the descriptions. A clear warning would be a disclaimer at the beginning of the video at the VERY LEAST. Also, the fact that you know a lot of people have died from trying to follow these videos without knowing the dangers because there is no clear warning and you STILL defend it is insane.

hello, I have built a burner as shown. the transformer has a turns ratio of 1:10, therefore 240v 10A input and 2400V 1A, out. the unit does burn a bit (1-2 inches) but no way as impressive as yours. additionally I have to continually wet/spray. My questions are. 1. is 2400V 1A sufficient? 2. Does the wood type make a difference, I've used white oak (Oregon)?

This isn’t just dangerous. This is not safe. Period. It is playing a game of Russian roulette and demonstrating that to an audience of very motivated people.
You do not understand how watching diy videos subconsciously influences people as well. The more videos you see on a topic, the more confident someone will feel in doing it themselves, even if they have zero experience. This is not a case of people being able to make decisions for themselves. This is a matter of influencing them into doing it themselves. The people who watch these are already motivated DIYers and there is nothing in this video even explaining what not to do and how to stay “safe” (even though there is nothing in the world you can do to lessen the hazard). People simply cannot conceive of the power they would be messing with. Nobody should even know this exists. It’s that bad.

He's a free adult, and as such, has the freedom to assess risk vs reward as he so chooses. As long as he tells others "this is dangerous, do not try at home" he's not responsible for anyone else making their own risk vs reward assessment.
Stop trying to regulate what other people do. It's good for dangers to be made public and known so everyone has all the information and can make an informed decision for themselves. Who are you people to tell others they can't or shouldn't do something because you think it's too dangerous?

WRONG. This video is specifically for the creative D I Yers. It is not like watching a stuntman where the viewer has a relative comprehension of the risk involved.
This video is like showing people how yo roll your car at 80mph and live- except the audience is primed to want to try it themselves.
This voltage is so fucking high they do not make safety equipment that can compensate for the danger. Experienced electricians are NOPE-ing right out of this.
There is zero explanation of how dangerous this is, no understanding how to even work safely around electricity or fundamental explanations on how electricity interacts with the environment. It does not even attempt to explain why this is dangerous, for him or for his loved ones should something happen.
That warning is like a small sticker on a rat poison laced lollipop advertised in the kids toy’s aisle.
Your comment is so out of touch- would you say that if he was showing how to take how to make your own prescription medication or demonstrating dangerous home improvement projects?

@@neurotika I agree he should be more forthcoming about the very serious risk of electrocution and death. I still think he has a right to enjoy his dangerous hobby and to showcase his projects. But yes, he should add more information about the risks involved.
