    That was good but the “clear the prop” had me dying with laughter 😅

      I'm a total beginner, I couldn't understand that bit. Was it just a joke or is it more than that?

      @@luciomorris8438 actually they should do this so people around can also hear that youre about to star the engine

    Very easy to understand for a total beginner like me. I understood how and why we prime the engine, everything now makes sense to me.

    Nice video. Got a little harder to understand once you went on your headset, but after watching a couple times, I got the hang of it. Thanks. What button did you push on the MFD? i didnt quite catch that ??? Thanks and nice job. Making a transition from steam gauges to G1000.

      Regards Badger. For MFD, after verification of data base currency, press ENT button on RHS above FMS knobs. Happy transition to flying G1000😊

    Do you turn back on the fuel pump when it starts?

    • @kylechen527
      @kylechen527 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In short, no.
      Cessna C172S has two fuel pumps, an engine driven pump and an electric pump. The fuel pump switch controls the electric pump, which is used during prime procedure or abnormal/emergency situations. Once the starter is engaged when you turn the key, it pops out and connects to the flywheel. Turning the flywheel would also spin the engine, which would drive the engine-driven pump.

    Where's the carb heat on those things now?

    • @WillOstrick
      @WillOstrick  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one is fuel injected, I'm not sure where it is on the earlier models.

    • @CaptainXanax
      @CaptainXanax 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WillOstrick ah, didn't know there was a fuel injected version. I trained on a 1972 model many years ago and haven't kept up with them. It was immediately to the left of the throttle.

      @WillOstrick  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CaptainXanax Ah, very interesting. Makes sense that they would of had a carb heat, these aircraft have been around awhile now haven't they. TQO is a 2003 model with a AEIO-360

    • @WillOstrick
      @WillOstrick  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apologies @CaptianXanax for some reason i thought your comment was on a different video with the Super Decathlon. Although this particular Cessna a 2008 172s VH-KXW is also fuel injected and has basically the same engine, io-360 "non Areobatic" 😊
