    Do you turn back on the fuel pump when it starts?

    • @kylechen527
      @kylechen527 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In short, no. Cessna C172S has two fuel pumps, an engine driven pump and an electric pump. The fuel pump switch controls the electric pump, which is used during prime procedure or abnormal/emergency situations. Once the starter is engaged when you turn the key, it pops out and connects to the flywheel. Turning the flywheel would also spin the engine, which would drive the engine-driven pump.

    In the video description, you've said the plane is a "PA24-206B".... Should that be *-260B* ? What is the engine power hp of the plane?

    • @WillOstrick
      @WillOstrick 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah good pickup, that is my mistake. PA-24-260B. The 260 referring to 260HP from the O-540 engine

  • @chrisberardi2304
    @chrisberardi2304 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You did the right thing - being a great pilot is about judgment, decisions and humility. There are other options as you demonstrated. Another field with better runway orientation is one. You could also use curving approaches or angle across the runway to remove some of the crosswind component - just depends on wind and your comfort zone. Regardless, as a Citabria flyer myself, I am well aware of my limitations and have experienced what you have on more than one occasion.

  • @bernardanderson3758

    Will come in 5 kts higher on approach speed and crab more in the direction of the wind and when you cross the numbers keep your directional control and look forward straightforward on center looking far down the runway and wheel landing or three point

  • @bernardanderson3758
    @bernardanderson3758 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Keep way above your speed as I do and put it on the mains if possible and if not as you did go around and come with more airspeed and keeping the power over the tail to keep directional controls and do a three point landing and don’t over correct for the cross wind and stick back and aileron into the direction of the wind. The wayside is to get that Tailwheel down and fully pull the stick back and stay on the center line
