    I have a 2015 m5 non comp for a little over 2 years and i love it!! Just wanted to say if you're in a tight spot you need to use the tap to creep feature, tap on the gas lightly and the car would roll forward or backwards slowly. Thanks for the vid.

      Thank you! You should see how narrow the opening of my garage smh... It's a 2 car garage with 2 doors for single entry of each car but it's so narrow so I always have to be careful going in and out and I do like you say, tap on the throttle lightly to get it rolling a little! It's a beast haha

      @@GrindMyGears i had an x6m before my m550i and looking at an m5 next ( my insurance was crazy im paying over 8k per year for my m550i lol so im waiting till it drops for another M car. But is it worth the upgrade from the m550 to the m5? Or should i get an m850 or maybe another x6m or even m6 grand coupe?

      @@lucarossi9453 that’s a lot of money for insurance! Depends which M550i you have… if you have pre 2020 then it’s worth upgrading to M5 for sure. 2020 and newer M550s are more powerful and better equipped. They come with rear limited slip differential by default and that makes quite a difference. I think a fully loaded 2020+ M550i is a huge bargain. At that point buying an M5 is a waste of money unless price difference is $5k or less.

      @@GrindMyGears i did tests with pre 2020s and 2020 and the power was the same, i have vids on my phone of 100-200 pulls with each and they both went up by the exact same numbers every time literally exactly the same! And on dynos the pre 2020s make the same basically as the 2020+ models! So i ended up going for a 2019 last year when i got it ! But im really fiending an m5 so much but deep down id feel like after the initial buzz of having an m5 wears off id regret it so i really have no clue what to do

    Thinking about getting a f10 early next year. Definitely lci since the lights and steering wheel got a nice refresh. Still looks very modern to me. I’ll fight for traction since it’s more of an experience:))

    Interesting comparison.
    I dont have any issues maneuvering the M5 in tight spaces, or accelerating smoothly from a stop, but its very different to a normal automatic and requires a delicate right foot.
    If you havent already, take the car for a spin wearing proper driving shoes (or any shoes with a very thin sole), it helps a lot.

    • @GrindMyGears
      @GrindMyGears  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I got the Puma BMW shoes for it haha... I think it's mostly my garage is so tight because it got one door for each car but the entry is narrow and when the car is parked for a week then I come to drive it, for some reason it's a little heavy to move so I tap the throttle a little then back on the brakes slowly... one day I will remove the divider in the garage and just make it one big entry door!

    Very well done. I had a 2013 CPO M5 but it had a bad oil consumption problem. Otherwise, I liked it. I have decided to either get the refreshed M550i or the 2020 X5 M50 later this year. I am glad that you saved me from the discomfort of the F90.

    • @GrindMyGears

      Jagda niiiiiice!! Thank you... The current M550 (2020) has the engine from M850 which has over 520hp I think! Probably the refreshed M550 would have a little more hp... I really liked the M550 I had and I wish I had kept it and got rid of the run flat tires... it was an all around great car and I’m 99% sure it’s going to be my next car! The X5 is great too but I wouldn’t spend the money on a V8 version. Long story short, I had a 2015 X5 35i for basically 5 days (or less I forgot) and ended up returning it to carmax within their 7 day money back period... it was one of the most boring cars I’ve ever driven! I’d have it as a family/second car but not my personal car that I’d like to enjoy. Let me know what you end up getting! My M5 burned less than a quart over 11k miles... my e39 M5 used to burn a quart every 1500 miles or so which seemed to be normal for that car! Lol

      Grind My Gears thanks for the tip on the x5. We are similar in that we get rid of cars that we don’t like immediately. Lol.
      I think I’ll just do the M550. I can just imagine that the x5 will be a bore to drive everyday. I love my m550 except for the very thin tires which I’ve bursted 10 times in 2 years.

      Jagda that sucks... are you on run flats? Maybe that’s why.... never blew a tire in the M5

    I had a 2008 M5, amazing. 2016 M5 comp … machine built so well! ….. 2022 m5 competition it’s second to None. Most amazing car I have ever driven or owned. 0-60 in 2.8 seconds none stock!

    • @GrindMyGears
      @GrindMyGears  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s amazing!! I was going to buy a 2006 few month ago but they are going to crazy prices now!! Totally not worth it so I’ll save for a 2019 M5 comp. Do you think there is performance difference between 2019 comp and 2022? I didn’t look up this data yet I just assume it’s same weight and horsepower but you know BMW they always underestimate. Btw did you try a regular F90 versus comp? I wonder if the steering feedback is better in comp because I hated it in the 2018… basically didn’t exist.

      @@GrindMyGears hi bro sorry I just saw your comment….. so to be honest with you your asking the right person first of all. I have had 3 M5s… so to answer your question yes there is a BIG BIG difference between the regular M5 and the competition trust ME bro !!!!!! I have driven regular M5 and when you put the competition badge on it makes it a different animal…. I just bought my 2021 M5 comp last august and to be honest with you I don’t know the words to describe it other than it’s the best Built race car ever I mean my neighbor has a 911 Porsche turbo and I still take the M5 competition…. Good luck brother 🤙💪

      @@GrindMyGears theirs absolutely 0 difference in the steering between comp and non comp bro don’t listen to him, theirs none at all. The 2019 and 2022 is the exact same thing also basically ( u wont notice a difference) so since u already had a 2018 u basically know what an M5 is like

      @@lucarossi9453 I’m not sure if 2021 or 2022 is different but I traded the S class last week for a 2019 M5 competition with 17k miles and CPO. So far I noticed the car is a lot stiffer than my 2018. I can’t say much about the steering feedback as I only had very little time with it so far and mostly highway driving and so far it feels on par with my 2018. I can’t tell if the car has been lowered or not but the stiffness suggests maybe it has been. I need to verify that… it’s definitely lower than my 2018 but also the comp pack has those attributes to be stiffer and lower. I just can’t tell since this one is preowned versus my 2018 was brand new so I know it was 100% stock. I’ll post a video sometime soon once I have enough time behind the wheel.
