  • It's been a long wait on parts and pocket money since I burnt out the clutch spending too much time practicing slow speed manoeuvres in the supermarket car park. Whilst this is technically the second time I've had the case open, the first time I did off camera so I could concentrate better, I couldn't finish the job because I couldn't get the clutch basket nut undone without an impact wrench which I finally picked up this week.
All in all it was not a difficult job, made much easier when you've got some proper tools on hand.

Fantastic video I’ve really enjoyed watching it and learn a lot but one question what was the reason for replacing the clutch plates?

I burned the clutch out doing slow speed drills.
I caught the moment on camera, too!

Hi Nick, what where the part number(s) of the clutch you bought, what do they fit, the older cbf125? The old cbf125 parts are easier to get a hold of and cheaper here in Europe. I just wanna change the friction plates on my CB125F. Just dont wanna take a guess on what fits and what dosnt. Thanks.

Hi, you can get your part numbers here:
      www.bike-parts-honda.com/honda-motorcycle/125-MOTO/CBF/2023/CBF125MM/Engine/CLUTCH/103400/E_08/1/48464
I can't confirm if they'll fit the older model but you can look it up on that same site and compare the numbers..
I spent $34 on these replacement pads online and so I REALLY recommend you order straight from Honda, as these generic pads are rubbish. While yes, they do work and got me going, they are deterioration quickly and fouling up my oil. OEM parts would be your safest bet

@@NicksBikes , ya i did find that webpage and another from Poland where i have ordered original parts for my 2021 cb125f last year, i was more interested in knowing what your replacement plates fit, it has to be another model/older model since there is no (that i can find) unoriginal parts for the 2021- model. I found a clutch set with both the friction plates and the metal plates (like the one you got), but its for the older model, the price is only 20 euro, the original comes to more than 100 euros.

@@JanF-of4fx I'll be honest, it's going to be worth paying the extra for the OEM parts and as in my video, the steel plates didn't fit anyway so I was lucky that the friction plates did

@@JanF-of4fx did you tried maybe EBC clutches? Maybe they have a set for the newer models. Usually Honda likes to use interchangeable parts for most of there models, I won't be surprised if the newer models still use the same clutch as the previous.

@@souhailshamaissem7564 no, this video is older. The clutch went after 7648km of excessive slow speed practice. There's a full length video that shows the exact moment the clutch failed. It failed because of excessive abuse from me 🤦🏼‍♀️
