As of today, I don't have any well cars ... because of your review of these beautiful models, that's gonna change!!

£300 incl shipping and tax for 3 cars to the UK. The cheapest postage they charge for economy delivery is £60 (6-10 working days) which for ANY other sellers would be £55 for MAX 2-3 day premium delivery at the door for the same money I'll just get the full scale for that price, looks like they don't really want to sell here otherwise they'd be more resonable with postage cost.
PLUS, they'll charge me the VAt to sell, then I pay VAT to import to the UK. Living in a scamming world, if you accept it.

New brand to our model train family i am interested. All of Those cars TTX sets are fantastic. Your layout is fine. Every layout needs some TLC. Excellent review & you detailing. These cars are in my checklist. Fine job. 👍🛤🛤

Great looking cars and containers. They've done themselves well (pun intended) with these.

man, the box is so nice, and with the window to see the model. I be hard bent to remove it from the package and just display it on a shelf

I've been long waiting to see one of these models in action, and I gotta say, it looks like it's everything it was advertised to be, very impressive! Really like the insert too, great review James!

One detail left out…. There has to be one door latch that won’t close completely and the handle must be hanging down…lol

Whoa, $400 for FOUR well cars, and EIGHT containers? That is amazing.

Love the packaging and the overall model. However, there looks to be a pretty obvious color difference between the plastic molded parts like the ladders and the painted body. It doesn’t look like this in their advertisements. Maybe it’s just the lighting makes it more noticeable, but for how much this model costs you’d think they could have done a better job of color matching those.

Well, being INSIDE an Intermodal Yard, I always see the various COLOR differences...most of it from age, weathering, and such. With the TTX, it is that Yellow that tends to fade and get DIRTY quicker than with other darker colored Intermodal Equipment. It's definitely WORTH the HO Scale price of admission, although I haven't seen one in a number of years.

These ugly looking cars remind me of the infamous Family Truckster car on the National Lampoon Vacation movie. Between the $65 price tag, and reports elsewhere of them derailing all the time, rest assured, they won’t be running on my rails.

  • @BossSpringsteen69

I forgot these cars existed. They had such an unusual boxy appearance that i starred at them wondering if they could have been converted from some other type of railcar. They were not the best to climb on because sometimes folks would hit their knee on them and, the distance between the second step and the top chord is extra long. The grabiron that is bolted to the side of the top chord is so narrow you can barely get a good grip with your boot. You literally use the tip of your boots to climb onto the top of the car. Top chord is that long square box the runs the length of the car that has the stencils 40/45/48. The top of the top chord where the grab irons are below the walkway had a either white or yellow carbody colored sand impregnated paint to act as an anti slip surface. I now remember that leaf spring made the car have a distinctively different bounce (more like a wiggle i recall) when the car was loaded. This brought back some memories for me.😊

Very nice car. Great detail and prototype fidelity. My only disappointment is that Athearn 48’ containers don’t fit well.

@@hotrail8295 The Athearn 48’ ? My 40s and 45s fit fine, it’s the 48’ that has issues. Others have also reported the same. Would appreciate you letting me know about your Athearn 48 ft.

@@bnsfbuff yes, my Athearn 48 footers fit fine in the bottom well. I tried a few more and one of my Athearn 48s was a little tighter, but all still fit without forcing or breaking anything.

19:08 I would add Scale Trains' containers have separately applied door locking rods and are $5 cheaper, but they only sell 40' and 53'.

Hi all, I've gotten a few emails and messages about missing some details in this review. My apologies as it was a long night last night of recording and editing to get it uploaded for a TH-cam launch late this morning . The length of the car body is 9 and 1/8th inches. Weight empty is 4.4 oz, one container added brings it to 5.3 oz and two containers added brings it to 6.2 oz. The trucks do have turning roller bearing caps. NMRA weight compliance is calculated as 1 oz plus 1/2 oz per inch of car body length. So with 9 inches of car body length the car should weigh 5.5 oz empty I think. I hope this helps answer any unanswered questions.
