DPS Finds Five Illegal Immigrants Hiding Inside Lumber During Traffic Stop

- A DPS Trooper stopped a Chevy 3500 hauling lumber on I-35 in La Salle County earlier this week. During the traffic stop, the driver, William Meza, from Laredo, consented to a search of the vehicle. Troopers discovered five illegal immigrants from Honduras and Mexico hiding within the lumber. Meza was arrested and charged with five counts of smuggling of persons with the likelihood of serious bodily injury or death. Five illegal immigrants were referred to Border Patrol.

Their are NO SUSPICIONS AT ALL. People need to realize that they have plate scanner and HD camera poles everywhere on the interstates now, and they now have the technology to not only quick xray your vehicle, but also have thermo capabilities that can penetrate through metal, wood, plastic, and any other materials. Last time i was down in El Paso, the BP Agents were actually showing off this technology to my girlfriend and i. They showed us how you could even see our 2 dogs hiding in the back of the SUV under blankets it showed the xray of their bodies as well as their body heat on the thermal readout. This is why their are so many "random" successful busts nowadays, drugs and illegal imigration .

It looks suspicious because it's a big pile stacked so neatly by hand. Normally lumber like that is in bundles banded with steel bands and four feet wide each. So, normally this truck would have two bundles side-by-side. But instead, it's no bundles, just a huge hand stacked pile. Very suspicious.

@@DS-ss7vl I'm a retired trucker. I've hauled lumber all over the United States. That full load of lumber would be a full load for that 1 ton, causing the truck to look completely loaded down. And it didn't look like that.
If I may add, most lumber like that usually is metal banded as a unit and set on "stickers" to be unloaded with a forklift
