@Infamous_VQ it's very comfortable to ride. I put an aftermarket gel seat on it. The handlebars sit higher than most sport bikes. So your not leaning and reaching down. It's got a ton of power. Very fun bike to ride. Highly recommend.
Agreed, best way to see what fits is to sit on some bikes and find out what you are comfortable with. For instance I am 5'6" tall with a 30" inseam yet I can ride any bike on the market. I don't feel like I have to have both feet flat on the ground. If you expect to have both feet flat on the ground and are short like me, that could be tough.
You are correct. I mistakenly said that this bike had a gear position indicator and indeed it does not have a gear position indicator. Thanks for the correction and for watching.
I bought mine new back then, this bike is still phenomenal! Strange, it's still a head turner amongst all the new stuff that's out now. Don't care about that, just thought I'd mention that yes, this is still incredible bike. Although all these years have passed, I have no desire to get rid of it and get something new. To me this thing is still new and has more power than I've ever used.
Yes, This bike is big enough for you. Although at 6'3" anything you sit on may seen a little small. A ZX14 or the Concours 14 are also good bike for tall folks. Thanks for the question.
I am sorry I am not familiar with CA vehicle registration laws. I think if the bike is used you may can register it in California. If you figure it out let me know, I will be happy to help.
You can always install some lowering links. I'm 5'4" too and that's what I did for my 2008 Ninja 250, even though I didn't need to, I just wanted to. It's inexpensive parts and you can do it yourself.
I need an ABS version in California (which is not available here for purchase) we only have the non abs version. How can i buy one from you guys but legally register here in CA?
That's a pretty rough explanation of how ABS works. It doesn't "slowly" brake. You apply the brakes. The system, using various means, senses whether you're getting locking. If locking occurs, the system will rapidly modulate the brakes to prevent a full lockup. You can see the little disc with radial slots in it at the front and rear of bikes with ABS that the system uses for this purpose.
Go to a local dealership and sit on the bikes. It's the best way to figure out what "fits" rather than listening to people who aren't your height over the internet. But just for reference, anything 600cc or more will fit you easily.
what year did variable power settings come on these ninja 1000's? I have a 300 and want to move up but don't want to have to buy a bunch of bikes to get to a 1k and the variable power seems to remove atleast the 635 from the lineup. any info would be appreciated thx
I hear these types of questions ALL the time. Here's what you do, go to your nearest dealership and sit on one. Spend a good amount of time on one making not of leg position, reach, poster, seat comfort, etc. No one is going to be able to answer the question of comfort for you except for...you.
This more bike than we would recomend for a new rider. Everyone is different and it is hard to recomend the proper bike for you with only a sentence or two of information.
No, dude. No way. This would be way too powerful for a new rider. We all want to jump in with the best bike, but you need to be responsible and know your limits as an inexperienced rider. If you like this style of bike, get a Ninja 650, or even a new Ninja 300, which has a more upright riding position but more manageable power. Good luck and happy riding!
It should have been called the Z1000SX here in the states as well; the Ninja branding on this, the 250, and 650 is nothing but a marketing gimmick to help gain interest in the often times silly American motorcycling market where bigger and faster is perceived as instantly better and cooler. Hell, for the longest time, insurance companies here made no distinction between the "Ninja 1000" and Kawasaki's "Ninja" superbike with the 1000cc powerplant (the ZX-10R).
Not very informative. Everything he said was readily identifiable by anyone with any motorcycle experience. I am interested in this bike, but would like to know more about how it rides.

Yes, depending on your skill level maybe just a touch tall for you. I am 5'6" and I can ride one of these fine just. Thanks for watching!

I'm 5'4" and I had to order some lowering links for my ninja. It was just a tad too tall, but after the links were in, it was perfect!
what happened? Didn't they give you the key to turn it on?
You are freakishly tall........Thanks for playing!

I've been looking for the Ninja Z1000, do you have any instock and if you do, could you make a video on it? I can't find one on TH-cam.

You bet, we can change the exhaust for you. Come on down!
Because it is. The name depends on country, I think.
@PRAET0R1ANN When will this question stop?! My freakin Girlfriemd rides an R1 dude and she's like 5'3 110 pounds...

Thanks.
Def do the 250r then the 650r then this if you get bored with the 650. Do not go to this as it is NOT a beginners bike.
The wind..
