    You're forgetting one critical factor that has contributed to this.... He absolutely loves Arsenal Football Club. For him it's not a job, he's at a place he wants to be because there's an emotional attachment between him and what he wants for Arsenal. All his decisions on and off the field takes into account the culture and wellbeing of the club.

    Great synopsis, like Wenger did when he came to the UK, Arteta is helping to re-define the rules. Current pundits can't stand it because they can't fit him into their usual boxes of 'what they know'. He's literally putting everyone into an uncomfort zone and we all know that's where growth happens. He's coaching us all! ;-)

    • @sco9616
      @sco9616 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@looniaz yup thats my thought too he is so smart and i be the was just so intently listening to everything he learned from Moyes, Wenger, Pep probably even Advocaat and top coaches at La masia and beyond. SO tired of the peps student narrative. Pep ASKED him to come to City because Arteta knew the EPL better and Pep already respected his tactical understanding having heard his advice when Pep was at Barca facing English teams in the KO rounds. Arteta is class and I honestly feel his tactics are more fluid than City's, the defense is better, the set pieces are better and we have some more physicality. They have the more experienced and more expensive squad.. thats their advantage and that advantage may eventually lessen as well.
      This is ARteta's FIRST job too and he may well win the league in his 3rdseason the same as Pep did at City even tho HE took over a team with -Yaya Toure, kompany David Silva Aguero then spent MORE than ARteta (more than 500m in his first 2 years). Arteta took over mustafi lazy Ozil Sokratis etc.. jeepers. Pep also won it after Arteta joined and first time he lost it was after he left.. coincidence? 🤣

    Arteta has removed ALL the toxicity from the club! Players, back room staff. Let alone what he has removed from the fans. The team has become whole! All encompassing ALL on the same page! Losing all the negativity that was sucking the life from the club! He’s not done yet! Each season his passion pushes him on! He’s on a mission and that mission has woken the fan base to once again “believe”! It’s been way too long for the supporters and fans to be in this position and I am so happy to see this squad play and develop under this manager that not so long ago was on the edge of being sacked! The emirates is loud and proud and for the first time for me “home”! Long may this development continue. Watching this team this season has been a total pleasure.

      You have a point. Arsenal's problems weren't one or two. it was a complex thing more related to what was happening behind the scenes rather than on the pitch. you have to fix the basis first, then start building. Soon as any of our players put one foot wrong, they're being lynched on social media and all by their own "fans" 💀
      We absolutely still have some of the most toxic supporters - sadly! It's vile and arguably our second greatest hurdle that we have left, after of course winning the PL title again.
      Really wish we'd all just enjoy this ride and take the (VERY RARE!!!) L's on the chin, support our players and do everything we can to fight alongside them. Granted, we do absolutely have some amazing supporters that do just that, but imagine if it was all of us.

      I think the negative perception of Arsenal over the years has hugely affected the clubs reputation. So much that it will take years of success to regain its reputation. The ripple effect of this reputation destruction is that it will be very hard for a player or manager attached or connected to the club to get a fair positive rating by the outside world. A player has a better chance of winning the Ballon d'or playing for West Ham or Brighton than they will playing for Arsenal and producing the same performances. That's how bad it has gotten. Once someone is connected to Arsenal all people focus on are the person's shortcomings while ignoring the person's great qualities. Those shortcomings are what people outside of Arsenal (or even within the fan base) will only chose to remember, hence making it almost impossible for anyone connected to the club to be highly rated.

      The man came into his interview with the Kroenkes with a powerpoint presentation of the seven "steps" of his process that he felt needed to be used as a measurement for what he wanted to achieve. He *knew* what he wanted to do before he was even hired. And the thing is? As others have said, this was his first job. He was trying to juggle hitting those first two steps with getting the hard yards done. Learning how to man manage, learning how to be in charge of all of the coaches, working with Edu, and so on.
      And when he was talking earlier this season with... was it Michael Owen? It was someone who's been hard on him all year, Mikel was very ready to say they were well *ahead* of schedule. We weren't supposed to be this good yet! I was saying we just needed to focus on Top 4 before the season began, and then next year look to take on Pool and City, and instead, we fucking did it *this* year, despite our depth issues, despite our youth and inexperience, despite being in Europa.
      Arteta isn't just a generational manager, I honestly think if he continues on this path, if he continues to work magic here at Arsenal or at other clubs, here in about 20 to 40 years time, he may very well be in the "Greatest manager of all time" conversation. *That's* how good he is.

I truly believe that no other manager in the world could have taken on the absolute mess Arsenal were in before he had arrived and manage to turn them into the team and club that we are now witnessing with our own eyes, not only in the effective and methodical manner that he’s successfully managed to do it in but also how quickly he’s managed to turn the tide around. Absolutely phenomenal. As mentioned in the video, he truly is a once in a generational talent and we should be honored and proud to have him at the helm fighting for the club. COYG!!!!!!

Factoring in all the circumstances like Covid, the club having less money than their rivals, it being his first job, and the unbalanced squad he inherited it's frankly a miracle he even has the job three years on. It's a testament to his ability to communicate and represent the club because he makes it look normal and it's got most people fooled that this is normal.

    You mentioned Arsenal's high net spend. I think the reason behind this is Arsenal's bad transfer policy in the years before Arteta. Arsenal were bringing in average players (at best) and paying them massive wages. When those players turned out to be shite (suprise, suprise) and were put on a transfer marekt, the smaller clubs couldn't affort to pay their wages so their contracts had to be terminated or the player went out on a free deal. That's why Arsenal couldn't make a lot of money selling players and why they have such high net spend over the last ten years. That's gonna end now. Arteta has brought in some quality players for a reasonable prices and made them even better. So when other clubs come for our players we can negotiate a bigger fee.

    • @phteven9610
      @phteven9610 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly, and unfortunately Wenger was a big part of this. This is why the novelty of Wenger later years is pointless to me. The state of the club when Emery took charge or even Arteta, was in absolute shambles because of the mismanagement of Arsene... which is unfortunate to say but it's true. It's exactly like you said, high transfer fees, high wages on very average players... He paid 40 mil to buy Mustafi and 20 mil on Perez just to sell him for 4 mil the next summer. It's insane...

    Arteta also had to deal with hate at a crescendo for a year. His wife said fans wanted him dead. I wasn't sure he had the winning mentality from being a Rangers fan where his reputation was good player who can disappear when going got tough. When I watched team who had been with him 18 months start last season I wondered if he had lost dressing room etc. But never doubted he had a plan and one I wanted badly to succeed. Luckily the Conte even Jose fans were ignored and even if we do melt down a bit on way to second or even 3rd its been a remarkable feat to get here. City looking bit like their old selves so let's see. If they win all their games it wouldn't be first time and we can't expect to compete with that at this stage, but if they are human and drop a few points we can definitely win this. It just seems so right we do it 😇🙏😇.

    I love your point about Zinchenko only coming in now that the team is ready for that kind of player in the team. I also think the recruiment has been under appreciated. The recruitment strategy has been consistent, sober, with a clear idea of the destination, and not getting carried away by a single signing.

    Getting Zinchenko , Gabriel J and Jorginho was a very smart move, how he treated xhaka and now we're seeing a revelation. You could see by the way they lead the team because they've been there before and know what it takes to win titles and go right to the depths. The growth of Odegaard has been amazing. Growing into the leader we knew he was and there's still room for more. It's the first time in years that i don't need to watch a game they play and have confidence that they'll win. Even if it doesn't go their way this season (hopefully not) , Arteta has started a process that'll bare great fruits

    • @jjsamuelgunn1136
      @jjsamuelgunn1136 ปีที่แล้ว

      Arteta gets Xhaka. They are both great passers of the ball but are somewhat lacking in the speed and mobility department. Arteta knows what he can and cannot do. Those old players who buy into the message and are will to change will stay. Those who don't has rightly been junked. Best to show them the door quick, otherwise their toxicity will poison the incoming batch of players.

    Arteta, given another 10 years, will be another Pep. You can see it in the makeup of the team, the way we play, and the success he's had thus far. He's also ruthless, and I think that's something we don't say enough. He sold our superstar after having him train on his own for months. Absolutely leaps and bounds beyond other managers who our rivals tout as being "better." Ten Haag is good, but he has far more experience and ran a perennial CL and league winning side prior to moving to United. It's not even a contest here.

    • @DrHankVenture
      @DrHankVenture ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dlaldlaldlanutsntnstn1418 it was in comparison to the amount of additional time that Ten Haag has had to develop, considering he's 13 years older than Arteta. Fingers crossed we'll get a CL trophy in that time though.

    And to think a fair number of people wanted him out not that long ago and some are still not sold on him. Personally, I've always liked him but I was recently thinking about United's seemingly more rapid progression and wondering if ETH might have something on Arteta. Didn't stop to think about how incredibly young and inexperienced both Arteta and his players are! Great analysis as usual!

    Always bring this up when any conversation about Arsenal comes up. People keep forgetting this is his first ever managerial job, with the youngest squad, at the top of the table for most of the season so far. Even if Arsenal finish 2nd or 3rd, it's still pretty amazing.

    Great video. Loved how you pointed out about the mathematics behind the endless pundits saying “well, everyone will be back next season” it is legit almost impossible for every single club in top 6 or 7 to be competing for the league at once unless the points Talley is really low that season which would indicate that those teams aren’t really “back” 🤣 pundits act like everyone can be amazing at once

    I'll be honest, after 2 seasons of finishing 8th I wasn't confident with Arteta. After last season when we bottled top 4 I was upset but I saw the progress, especially after the all or nothing documentary. Now it's finally coming together and I'm so happy the board backed him when most fans didn't. It shows the board has changed in the way it thinks and the club has clearly changed for the better, on and off the pitch. I'm looking forward to the years ahead following Arteta and the squad and hopefully seeing them achieve great things

    This is going to sound cringe but I nearly cried watching this because FINALLY a notable TH-camr like you has made a video on this matter.
    I've been in comment sections and threads on social media in the past month stating every single point you've started in the video to rival fans. The fact that they compare Arteta with managers like Pep, Klopp, Ten Hag or Conte isn't a slight against him but actually a HUGE compliment because just like you said, He's not NORMAL
