Thank you so much. I have forgotten how to do that stitch, and my granddaughter asked me to teach her how to make an invisible stitch. You saved my name and honor as a grandmother, that should know how to do it.
My dad (not a single dad just had more patience for such things than mom) used to sew my sister's teddy back together. It was a vintage teddy and much loved which meant it frequently needed "medical" attention. LOL. My dad's no longer with us and one of my favorite childhood memories is of him sewing teddy's head back on. Your child will cherish this memory forever. 💚
You can tell she does a lot of hand sewing by the way she ties the knot in the very beginning. It was so smooth and simple. A great way for people with large clumsy hands or joint problems
I have decent sized hands but I can’t do anything without hurting myself I once tripped over air, fell up the stairs, and somehow cut myself with a spoon 🤷🏼♀️
Oh my God, I cannot thank you enough for this video! I've tried for years to figure out how this was done! In crochet and knitting we use almost the same type of stitch but it's called the mattress stitch. I can't believe I didn't put the two together and realize it would be used this way in hand sewing. What a DUH moment for me! Again, thanks a million for the video!
I was able to mend some of my clothes with this stitch, didn't do it as perfectly as you did but they now look great to the untrained eyes of mine xD thank you so much!
Me neither, this is really helpful. It's also better with the voice over and motions instead of just text explaining it, cuz then I'm reading instead of paying attention to what the demo is. So yeah, SUPER Helpful!!!
Not me watching(ie, starting and exiting after a few minutes) a dozen videos before this one because of that exact reason 😅 ADHD is like being possessed, but instead of a demon, you're possessing yourself. And the Other You is flicking through your attention span like channels on the TV 😅
This was an extremely useful tutorial. I'm currently making a couple of pillows for an art project in school and had absolutely no idea how to close them. This saved my life (and probably my grade).
I used this method to fix my son's fuzzy robe. I figured out after I was almost done that I should have been sewing from the outside, not the inside. The good news is this stitch is easy to undo so it worked out well. One wouldn't even know it was stitched if it wasn't for the fact that the material had some jagged edges and so it didn't line up well in some spots, but other places you can't even tell. Thanks for the vid.
“Wow!” I am so amazed by the simplicity and effectiveness of this skill. I literally said wow so loud I scared my pooch 😂 very nice production as well!
Thank you very much for posting your tutorial! I’ve been trying to remember how to sew this stitch as my granddaughter has a tear along the seam of a pair of pants, and your video makes it very easy to understand and follow. I had her pants repaired within 5 minutes of watching it! Thanks again.
I have a beloved quilt that is tearing. I kept searching "inverted stitch" and I finally came upon this video. I'm a bit clumsy, but I'm not ready to retire the quilt, so I'm hand-repairing it. Wish me luck
Can you make a short of how to end the invisible stitch with the knot, hide the thread? It goes too quickly for me to register it in my memory. I've looked at other videos and yours is the best!
Bought a dress and managed to rip the seam when taking the tags off. This was exactly what I needed in order to fix it. Thank you so much for the easy to understand tutorial.
This is a godsend for sewing up that last bit on miniature pillows and blankets, where any other stitch would be way more obvious and noticeable on such a small scale.
An excellent tutorial in detail and so well explained. Pressing and ironing are the key to a successful finish. 👍👍👍Love your soft voice. Thanks for sharing and caring.
Im proud to say im a hand sewer..i hardly use my machine i prefer doing it by hand..i guess it relaxes me brcause it brings back days sitting with my mom in her sewing days..especially when i got to stay home from school and have hot chocolate and a bun and watch Days of our lives as she sewed .
U r more than genius. Within a few minutes I did without error n looks very professional thanks as my husband is more than fussy n grumpy who wasn't ready to wear beautiful two sided short. Oh thanks very much U r excellent
I basically don't have sewing machine. Also it's difficult to stop thinking about sewing my own dresses. Thanks to this video, i can now finally stitch dresses without machine.❤
Ahhhh this helped so much. I'm hemming a pair of pants and couldn't figure out this stich from other videos but this one sure helped! Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the video I couldn't remember the correct way. My mother and grandmother used to teach me how to sew, but now at 41 I can barely remember,. Your videos are a god send.
That stitch is one I've always wanted to learn. And it seriously would come in handy if you have a darker or brighter shade thread than the material used, and can hide the stitch. Definitely going to try this. It was easy to understand.
thank you for this tutorial! very helpful and concise.. i have a hard time following tutorials sometimes, this was perfect! helped restore my stuffed animal i’ve had for 30 years ❤
I am so HAPPY that I came across this simple example of sewing an invisible seam!! I've been working on a special birthday tote bag for my daughter, ever since my sewing machine broke. Thanks!!! Your a life saver!
Thank you for this video! It was my first time stitching ever and I used this technique to fix a tear in a blanket my grandma gave me. The tip about going straight across / perpendicular was very helpful. On my first attempt I went too far diagonal and the resulting stitch looked very "bunched up" when pulled tight. The tip about hiding the thread tail was also great. You da best!
This is neat. I bought a jacket that I fell in love with, but absolutely hate the small hand pockets that can't even fit my phone in, so I plan on sewing new larger ones in myself with the help of this tutorial. Thank you so much!

i have watched many videos about this technique. yours is the only one that combines auditory and visual learning. BRAVO
