I am so happy that I did!!!!..I now do this routine every morning and I can’t believe the difference, I can now sleep better with no pain. Thank you Joelle!!..

This is by far the best IT Band Syndrome yoga practice! I do it several times a week and it has given me tremendous relief! No PT needed since starting.
I have been having left hip discomfort for months, seeing an acupuncturist and chiropractor with some relief, but not completely gone. My yoga instructor suggested exercises for adductors/abductors so I went on utube, found some, no significant relief, until I came across THIS video which has MAGICALLY made the discomfort disappear after doing this 2 days in a row! I am a hiker, skier, kickboxer, and now have significant relief from doing these simple exercises! THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO!!🥰

To add to that your voice is so soothing and calming and i feel at ease and composed hearing your lovely soothing voice. Thank you so much for this video . GOD BLESS YOU !
Holy crap I've been in physical therapy for about a month but felt quicker relief from this than anything else I've done so far. I'm sure some tightness will come back tomorrow but I'm definitely going to work this in along with my PT stretches and exercises. Thank you for this, it seems like a huge help so far!
Joelle! You are my Hip Hero! I discovered you 8 days ago and stretch and strengthen with 2 - 3 of your videos every day. Ahhhhhhh the absolute relief for IT band and piriformis. You mentioned doing a resistance band video.... yes, please 🙏
I started running a lot more recently and my right IT band began hurting even just to walk up my stairs. It was also affecting my lower body strength days. I did this video once and it felt so good that I saved it right away. It’s already helping my pain, and makes me more hopeful about running again. Thank you for this :)
That's wonderful to hear Melissa! I run too, and I'm so glad this could give you hope about getting back out there. Well done! I also have a brand new quickie IT Band practice that you might enjoy trying, part of my 28-day yoga challenge: th-cam.com/video/1r1sdg7nxoc/w-d-xo.html 🌟
I have posture issues and muscle imbalances and have had IT band pain for a long time. I have only done this video a few times and i don’t notice the pain anymore! Thank you so much. 💜 I will keep at it.
Hi - I am so grateful I found this...the other day I started to worry that I may need a hip replacement because walking has really been hurting me...but maybe it’s just my IT band because I certainly feel relief now...thank you so so so so much :- sending you love and good vibes :)

@@YogawithJoelle thank you so so so much. I resonate with your vibe. Much more so than many other yoga teachers on TH-cam. I’m going to do this one hour recommended. Also the one I found on hip bursitis. And I’m also going to start the 28 day thing. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! When hip pain struck mid marathon training, I stepped down the miles and started doing your video everyday. It's been 3 months now of doing this video nearly everyday and it has truly helped. You gave me hope by helping me believe that the pain would go away, especially when I was at my most hopeless. Thank you!
Wow. It worked the pain away. All these years I thought it was a knee injury from so much biking and running. Just 10 minutes made all the difference. Thank you so very, very, very much!
Thank you for these videos, I love the 10 minute videos for ITB, hips and lower back. As a runner recently suffering from ITB pain they’ve really helped. Mixing these up to create a 30 minute routine everyday has really helped. Thank you!
I love hearing that! It's always my hope that people will start to mix and match to create routines that work best for them. Thanks for the message Martin 😊
Thank you so much for your ITBand stretches. I can't seem to get rid of the ITBand pain but I definitely feel I'm improving as a result of this video. I'm 71 and liked to walk regularly until I did too much walking uphill and downhill with a fervor after I had some abdominal surgery. Trying to "rest" by walking a bit on flat surfaces and not doing much. I do feel the difference after doing your stretches. Tomorrow, I'm going to add on one of your other videos as a "reward" for staying consistent with this ITBand video. Peace to you with extra gratitude for all you do to help us. 🙂
Hi there, thank you so much for sharing your story! I am glad this video was able to help and I hope it continues helping you feel good! Enjoy your weekend and see you soon!
Excellent routine. I discovered your videos about 6 months ago and have used them almost daily. Thank you for the number of videos you have added since the beginning of the pandemic. I have stopped using the public gym since I am older and have lung disease, so these videos have played a vital role in keeping me healthy, moving and pain free. I started with 10 minutes supine hip bursitis and moved on through many others enjoying them all. Every one has achieved the intended goal of pain reduction and improved strength and mobility. I have recommended your channel to friends and will continue to do so. The 10 minutes time format is very helpful. I can warm up on my bike and do a video without losing an entire morning. Thank you for these thoughtfully prepared and very effective stretch and strengthening videos.
Thank you for such a lovely comment, Andrea! It's comments like these that keep me motivated, and I am so happy to hear that you've enjoyed my sequences and that they are helping you stay active. I so appreciate you sharing my channel with others, too! Well done to you for being so consistent and taking good care of yourself - your body will continue to thank you for it! 💐
The reassurance you provide and the recognition of time well spent as well as bite sized routines make your videos encouraging and effective for those of us who are retuning into our bodies. Thank you!
I have saved this as a favourite and am doing it every to every other day on top on my regular downward dog yoga 🧘♀️ Thanks 🙏 😊 so far it’s helping reduce ITB pain when walking. 👍
I have been going to PT for hip pain for a few months now with no relief and got an injection that also didnt seem to help. I do karate and have been missing so much because of my pain. Thank you thank you thank you. I felt like I was giving up. This video saved me.
Joelle, this video has done so much for my hip pain and general stretching and strengthening of my lower body! Thank you. My body craves these stretches now and I often do them more than 2x a week!
I've found this session super-helpful with my IT band on my right leg - bit too much running probably with bit too much overpronation and not enough strength work...thanks for helping with my recovery!
I just want to tell you how much you have helped me. Your hip videos are all amazing and have helped me walk sit move. Thank you from the deepest part of me. I will look at all your videos to get my whole self back in shape. Blessings to you.🙏🙏🙏💗💗💗

Julie, thank you so much for your generosity, I truly appreciate it! And thank you for sharing your story and for your lovely comment! I am so glad our sessions together have been helpful 🙏💫
Thank you, Joelle! I just did two of your videos for IT band and I'm glad I found you. I feel so much better on the band that's giving me problems! It gives me hope.
This helped me so much today with soreness from running! Thank you for explaining everything clearly and sort of giving the visual image of what we're aiming to stretch out - it helps a ton.
Thanks, Joelle. Your exercises have made a huge difference to my hip pain. It's much easier being consistent with exercises while working alongside the video.
You're so welcome! I'm very happy to know they've made a difference for you - and I completely agree, it's always easier for me to be consistent when I have someone to "practice with," even in video form! Well done to you for doing the work!! 👏
Thank you again, ?joelle. I have a neurological issuewith my mobility and your videos help me so much. I am a retired clinical social worker and I used to teach relaxation therapy and yoga as well. God bless you for your videos..
I am thrilled. I’m training for my first triathlon and running/ biking has been a lot on my IT. I’ve never done such good stretches that target them!! I’m so excited I will be doing this daily and running in no time 😊
I'm putting a lot of focus on my lower body especially the knee area. I do a lot of walking, hiking, and cycling so my lower body can ger tight and tired often. Thanks again for providing great videos to help with my journey in continuing to maintain a healthy body so I can enjoy all the outdoor activities. Namaste 🙏🏽 ♥️ 🧘🏾♀️
Hi Joelle, thanks for this IT band session. Just a gentle reminder, please mention left and right correctly , as may cause confusion for the new followers. Thanks again
Thank you for your great videos, I have hip bursitis & IT syndrome. I found your videos a mth ago & wow what a difference it's making. I do the standing & floor(not so easy yet for me)😁 3 times a day. Thank you.
That's so wonderful, well done for being so consistent! Change does take time and your attitude is exactly the right one to have! So glad to have you with us 😊
Hi Joelle 👍🏽 You and your videos are great and I am working w chiropractor for ITB pain and quad pain on L. I probably have glute amnesia. I didn’t even get to tell him I have severe pain L shin! I can’t wait until I can do justice to your videos when I feel better, but I’m doing what I am able. 😬 I also have L shoulder impingement I’m working on…. Doesn’t sound like it but I’m healthy(except for soft tissue injuries). I just retired from nursing- 40th year and I rode a bike or walked there for way over half of 40 years.
Had very bad pain in left outer knee. Hard to do stairs or ride my bike. I did this video 3 days in a row and the pain was gone. Will continue to do these exercises. Thank you so much!
WOW! This stretch session was exactly what I needed for my ongoing hip and pain discomfort - every stretch/exercise felt like such a relief. Thank you!
Thank you for this one! I have side body pain and also pain in my butt and this is the only thing that has reached those areas properly. I will keep doing this one....but forgot to warm up first, so definitely doing that next time!
Nice job Sarah! You might like to warm up with this side body pain practice first and see if that works for you: th-cam.com/video/nGwrurxx9Sg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you! I just discovered I have ITBS, and love yoga so this video was very helpful. Really feel better already. Just glanced through your other videos and subscribed immediately. Looking forward to trying them out.
Welcome! So glad to have you with us and very happy this one helped you feel better. Feel free to leave me a comment if you're ever looking for anything in particular and I'll do my best to help! 😊
Thanks for this video, it's so great! Cycling a lot recently made my right IT band so tight and was causing me a lot of hip pain - I'm very inflexible with very tight hamstrings so many other yoga/stretching videos are too advanced or painful for me, but this one is perfect! I'm already seeing an improvement after doing these stretches after post cycling for just a week. :D
That's so great to hear, Lydia! IT band is so common for cyclists, so good for you for doing something about it. I also have a video for hamstring pain (th-cam.com/video/6xdf_6D5vGs/w-d-xo.html) that you may want to try out and see if it helps. And in the future, I'm considering to make a few "Yoga for Inflexible People" sessions, so stay tuned! 😃
Hi Joelle, thank you for your video. I've been doing this consistently for almost every day and it helps with my possibly PF related foot pain (which i believe caused by chronic sitting plus imbalance and weak glute muscles), coupling with some hip strengthening exercises. Thank you ❤
Just found you today I already do yoga so love this addition and all your tips . After both knee replaced I've had issues with my right itband thanks for your short to the point video6
Thanks for the video, I had a knee surgery last year and I have been suffering with IT band tightness/ syndrome, which also causes pain. I will try these exercises. Thank you.
I'm so glad you like it! I do! I actually have two newer practices for the IT band: th-cam.com/video/yXSAmpXcTE0/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/1r1sdg7nxoc/w-d-xo.html I hope you like them :)
My main problem is plantar fasciitis, but I suddenly got a mild case of IT band pain (that is now 90% healed). I found this video at a point where I was just desperate from being in so much pain from my TFL, IT band, and Plantar Fasciitis. The part where you say "the pain will pass" nearly brought me to tears 🥺🥺💕 I will check your plantar fasciitis video next.
This one was really helpful, the one thing I did have a hard time with is laying on my affected leg though. I couldn't get up on my elbow, but still was able to get the stretch. I did the lower back video this morning and it was also very helpful. Thank you again for creating this channel.
Thank you, I am going to try these. Suffering with IT band issues, which in turn are triggering my sciatica issues (not good - right?). Saved this as a favorite, will do these at least 3x/day and post, how I feel.
I love all your 10 minute videos, they make all the difference. Lately I experience really tightening in my groin area. Do you have any exercises I could try? X
I'm so glad you love them, and thank you for the comment! Great idea - let me add a groin / adductors video to my list, and I'll let you know as soon as it's available. Thank you for the suggestion! In the meantime, a great one to try is a seated butterfly pose, sitting with the soles of your feet together and knees apart. If it's hard to sit up straight, you can sit on a cushion or rest your back against a wall. Try building up to sitting like this for about 3 minutes a day and see if it helps. 🙂
Hi again Erika, I thought you'd like to know I now have a brand new 10-minute video for groin and adductor pain available here: th-cam.com/video/jEE-D7sTNpk/w-d-xo.html I hope you like it, and thanks again for the suggestion! I'd love to know what you think 🌟

Thank you for this great video. I have knee pain with hiking and know I need to strengthen my IT band. Do you have any routines that help with the knees? Thanks
Hi Lisa, I sure do! If you search "yoga with Joelle knees" on TH-cam they should all come up, and here's the latest one I'd suggest starting with: th-cam.com/video/zkoIaA5Df0U/w-d-xo.html Hope it helps!
Thank you for this most helpful video. I've been struggling with ITB for about 3 years. I have tried a few things but your video has been amazing. I have been doing your exercises for about 2 weeks. Thank you, I can finally have a good night's sleep. 🙏🏽
Hey Joelle! Thank you for this video. I’ve been doing it 2-3x per week. Did you ever do any progressions? Would love to see more it band stuff from you. Keep up the great content!
Thank you for sharing, Christopher! I hope it is helpful. If you search "yoga with joëlle IT band" on TH-cam, you will find a couple that may be helpful 🙏🙏
Is it wise to do these before a run or afterwards? Love these thank you! I like how you totally explained these stretches and took your time. And 10 minutes is doable. ♥️♥️
I'm so glad you liked it! You could certainly do these before or after a run, but I'd think they might be even more beneficial before if IT Band pain is something you regularly deal with. That would help get the area warmed up and ready to go 😉
@@YogawithJoelle Yes, that makes sense!! I do struggle with this issue and I will use it as a warm up. I also noticed going to the gym and exercising my legs, hips and glutes have made a huge difference with the pain. Thank you again ♥️

Hi Joelle, I want to say thank you for these videos, they have helped me a lot. I took to walking everyday and ended up with hip bursitis. That took 3 months to finally heal, and now I’m having issues with stiff muscles from being much less active the past 3 months. I’m trying to get back into working out, but it’s hard to undue the tightness after sitting all day at work. Even with hourly walk/stretch breaks, I’m still tight and stiff in my quads, and hips. Any advice on battling muscle stiffness in these areas or in general? I’m going to physical therapy tomorrow, but it’s very frustrating dealing with this. Never had an issue with muscle stiffness in my life before this.
Hi Nici, thanks for the comment, and sorry to hear about the frustrating tightness and stiffness you've been experiencing. It can be really tough to deal with! You probably know that I have a number of hip pain videos already on my channel, as well as 2 quad pain videos. My best advice would be to commit to a daily routine to make sure you're doing 10 minutes (at least) of movement a day. It doesn't need to be strenuous and definitely don't push into pain. Try building up to mixing and matching two routines a day if possible, which will be a nice way to counter some of the sitting that we're all doing so much of these days. Beyond that, consider standing up for a 2-minute walk every 30 minutes (I sometimes set a timer to remind myself to do this!), just to get a little blood flow back into the legs and hips. I hope that helps, and keep me posted! Well done for taking care of yourself! 👍
Hi Joelle. Thanks for the lovely video. What modification would you recommend for someone like me with tight back and neck muscles ,in addition to the IT band related Hip and knee pain. Staying up on the side for the exercises seems a lot and i will end up engaging the upper body, and neck muscles. Thanks in advance!!
I'm so glad you liked it! Great question about modifications for the upper body - a nice option can be to lie on your side rather than propping yourself up. You can either rest the head on the bicep, or else place a pillow or block underneath the head, with the bottom arm extended on the floor in front of you. Give it a try and see if that helps! 😊

You're so welcome, thank you for joining me!
This helped me so much today with soreness from running! Thank you for explaining everything clearly and sort of giving the visual image of what we're aiming to stretch out - it helps a ton.
You're so welcome Emily! Thank you for practicing with me.

Hi Joelle, thanks for this IT band session. Just a gentle reminder, please mention left and right correctly , as may cause confusion for the new followers. Thanks again
Thanks Sharon, well done! 🌟
So glad to have you with us 😊
That felt amazing! One of my favorite IT band routines.
Wonderful! Glad to hear it ✨
I really think this routine is helping me! Thank you so much for sharing so much about these hip issues
I'm so glad! 🌞
Thank you I only started your routine a few days ago & I can already feel the difference. My glutes get really tight so this has really helped.
You're so welcome! So happy it's helping Denise :)
I'm so glad they're helping you, and glad you are doing what you need to do feel better! Look forward to seeing you on the mat again soon :)
Had very bad pain in left outer knee. Hard to do stairs or ride my bike. I did this video 3 days in a row and the pain was gone. Will continue to do these exercises. Thank you so much!
That's amazing, great job!!
WOW! This stretch session was exactly what I needed for my ongoing hip and pain discomfort - every stretch/exercise felt like such a relief. Thank you!
You're very welcome! So glad to hear it helped you
Great video, straight forward & informative. Looking forward to using these exercises on a daily basis for IT Band releif
Great job Kayla!
This was perfect. Been suffering with pain and just now realizing it’s my IT band🤷🏻♀️
Yes please share some resistance band techniques
I am so sorry to hear that! I hope you're doing well!! 🙏 🙏
Thank you ❤
Great to hear, thank you for sharing! I hope this continues to help 🙏🙏
The combination of strengthing and stretching helps in the short term and long term.
Amazing peaceful easy to follow calm. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it 💫💫
This has really helped me!!! Thanks. So happy I found this.
Glad it was helpful! 🙏
Just found you today I already do yoga so love this addition and all your tips . After both knee replaced I've had issues with my right itband thanks for your short to the point video6
Welcome! So glad you enjoyed it
Your videos are just the best! And I watch so many
This means so much to me, thank you Cynthia!!
Thanks for the video, I had a knee surgery last year and I have been suffering with IT band tightness/ syndrome, which also causes pain. I will try these exercises. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your story! I hope this is beneficial for you! :)
Thank you, if you haven't yet I'd love to see the updated version with the bands.
Hi there, thank you for the suggestion! If you search "yoga with joëlle band" on TH-cam, you will find a couple that may be helpful! 😉
Love it... really helps..just what I needed.. thank you x
I don’t have any pains or anything, but love your work out!!! Thank you so much🙏💚
Yay! So glad you liked it 🙏
Thank you
These lateral hip strengthening exercises made a VERY noticeable difference in my IT band syndrome after like 2 weeks of doing them 3x/week.
I'm so glad to hear it!
Thank you, I like this very much. Do yoy have follow up exercises amd stretches? Thanks again
I'm so glad you like it! I do! I actually have two newer practices for the IT band: th-cam.com/video/yXSAmpXcTE0/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/1r1sdg7nxoc/w-d-xo.html I hope you like them :)
@@YogawithJoelle thank you so much!!! Your videos are great. The best acctually on the web! Keep going!

Thank you that was great, never would have thought that banana pose feels so good
Banana pose is one of my faaaavorites, glad you liked it too!
My main problem is plantar fasciitis, but I suddenly got a mild case of IT band pain (that is now 90% healed). I found this video at a point where I was just desperate from being in so much pain from my TFL, IT band, and Plantar Fasciitis. The part where you say "the pain will pass" nearly brought me to tears 🥺🥺💕
I will check your plantar fasciitis video next.
this was great. short and sweet but hit all the spots.
Glad you enjoyed it Andrea! Have a great day
This one was really helpful, the one thing I did have a hard time with is laying on my affected leg though. I couldn't get up on my elbow, but still was able to get the stretch. I did the lower back video this morning and it was also very helpful. Thank you again for creating this channel.
Great job Alice! And good job finding the modification that worked best for you. Looking forward to continuing to practice with you 😊
Thank you, I am going to try these. Suffering with IT band issues, which in turn are triggering my sciatica issues (not good - right?). Saved this as a favorite, will do these at least 3x/day and post, how I feel.
Wonderful, great job! I'll have a new IT band practice coming out next week, too 😉
Thank you very much this helped so much
You're welcome!
@@YogawithJoelle thank you so much, they feel great. I'll let you know how I feel in a few weeks. Love your videos and I can tell you that my partner started doing the knee pain exercises and find them very helpful xxx

Thank you so much Avana! I'm so happy you enjoy practicing with me. I've got two you might like to try for the neck, they are: th-cam.com/video/XVSIztlmQqE/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/DQ8GunkbqXA/w-d-xo.html Let me know how you get on with them!
i've been struggling with ITBS for a ridiculously long time. everytime i do this video i get so much relief. thank you!! hopefully one day i can do pigeon pose again... >.
So glad it's helpful! If you search "yoga with Joelle pigeon" on TH-cam I've also got a video to help work on that posture!
Your stretch for sleeping pigeon with movement is great. On the video, did you show both sides?
Glad you liked it! And yes, I believe so :)
Thanks for helping me!
Happy to help Carrie, well done!
Masterfully explained. THANK YOU🎀

This was just what I needed, thank you!!
You're very welcome, and great job!
@@YogawithJoelle Thank you! I am so enjoying your helpful knee routines!
Thank you for this most helpful video. I've been struggling with ITB for about 3 years. I have tried a few things but your video has been amazing. I have been doing your exercises for about 2 weeks.
Thank you, I can finally have a good night's sleep. 🙏🏽

Thank you so much, Cynthia, I am so glad you think so!! 😀
I really appreciate how you mix strengthening with flexibility. It makes all the difference in the world. So glad I found your channel 🙏🦋
I'm so glad too! Thank you Anais 😊✨
Thanks for sharing😍. It could be slowly ;)
You're welcome 😊
@@garwill2032 Wonderful! In case it's helpful, I also have a playlist of videos for runners on my channel, with other 10-minute sequences you might like to try at some point. You can find it here: th-cam.com/play/PL9wzuXltV2006mylgeTEZM8dR7hB79WIe.html
Great stretch!
Hi Joelle,
I want to say thank you for these videos, they have helped me a lot.
Short but effective!
Thanks Julie 😉
Thanks Joelle, my knee pain (from running) almost entirely disappeared after that.
I'm so glad to hear that, well done!
@@YogawithJoelle thanks 😊🙏. Will give it a try
