      If we obey His commandments like Jesus said in John. If we do not obey then you know. So yes I totally agree with you. People want to disagree not understanding that love in not an emotion…it’s a choice and an action. Thank you for sharing this. I enjoy all your videos.

    Awesome message that most need to hear!! The churches are so deceptive with their doctrines!! I need Fellowship with belivers in what the Word Truly says!! For a decade and or so when I quit going. Because when I approached the pastor etc whatever their title was supposed to be. About the word not matching up to the Sermon. They'd get defensive or push/shun me away! Which was fine cause I was lead to visit not to stay!! Blessings to you all.!

    Awesome message. This is something that needed to be said. Unfortunately, far too many people do not want to hear or accept that hard truth & teaching of the Lord & Saviour, as it will put a crimp in their lifestyle. They would much rather prefer the easy- peasy do nothing way that leads them to eternal life in the wrong place.

    For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    • @avoiceinthedesert

      Luke here. Exactly, "We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
      So, Paul makes it pretty clear... Good works are an essential part of the whole equation. If you aren't doing good works, then clearly you aren't God's "workmanship"...

    God's love is unconditional of course.
    But our salvation is conditional.

    • @avoiceinthedesert
      @avoiceinthedesert  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Luke here. That's a good way of putting it.
      For example, you might love your own child unconditionally. But, that's no guarantee that that means it will grow up to be a successful and fulfilled adult. The child must choose to listen, learn, and grow. You can certainly try to teach and guide your child, but you cannot "mature" on their behalf.
      Others can show us the way, but nobody an succeed on behalf of another. Each person must walk the narrow road themselves.

    God's love is not because of what we do but who He is. God is love, therefore he cannot not love. God is bigger than his promises. If we continue to be disobedient we cannot enter the promise land, true, but we still can't lose God's love, which is infinite and permanent.

    • @avoiceinthedesert

      Luke here. Hmm, but how do we reconcile verses like John 14:21, where Jesus says "Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, is one who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”?
      It sounds like Jesus is saying that God will only love those who keep Jesus' teachings/commandments.

      @@avoiceinthedesert Hi Luke, in my opinion, there are general grace and specific grace, not everyone loved by God can enter the promised land, because "many are called, but few are chosen." Matthew 22:14. God's love is infinite( Romans 5:8 NLT: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. ), but the promised land is limited to the chosen.
      In John 14:21, it didn't say"only".

    Hi Guys, I learned about this new term ''PROGRESIVE REVELATION''. In the old testament people believed in God but they believed that everything good and bad happpens in this life, And after that you'd go to the Seol where they believed there was no wisdom, I think they believed in God but not in the afterlife, But slowly overtime they started to understand more thanks to God and that yes there is and afterlife, And Jesus confirmed when he came down to earth even though he never gave details about the afterlife he taught that how we live our lives here matter and that we''ll be resurrected for either salvation or condemnation, So the moral of the story is that even though we don't know everything we need to act upon what truth has been revealed to us, God is faithful and he sees our heart, So maybe in the future God might reveal more things to us, Just trust in God, The bad things, greed, lust, fornication, adultery, murder, wars have an end and God will make justice, God will reward the just, Amen.

    • @avoiceinthedesert
      @avoiceinthedesert  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good term, Marco. God judges each of us on the basis of the "light" that we have. Some pagans and atheists do more with the light that they have than professing Christians who have the four gospels in a hundred different languages/translations.

      Luke here. I think that God does love all of humanity and he wants everyone to be saved (if it were possible). But, there are two sides to every relationship. Like you have pointed out, we need to respond to God's calling and obey his conditions if we want to receive salvation and eternal life.

    Why does it say in the Bible that we will stand before God on the Last Judgement and answer for our actions? Surely such a trial and judgment is meaningless if we are automatically saved by just believing that we believe in Jesus.

    • @avoiceinthedesert
      @avoiceinthedesert  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. It seems obvious to me that our salvation is not guaranteed at all until the final judgment. However, the usual do-nothing answer to that is that the judgment is only with regard to who gets the biggest mansions in heaven, i.e. "rewards" rather than "salvation". A very strong passage of scripture which they use for that argument comes from I Cor. 3:11-13.
      For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
      Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
      Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

    • @WatchingUntiltheEnd
      @WatchingUntiltheEnd ปีที่แล้ว

      This is funny. I commented earlier on a video and was going through a train of thought were I remembered that Pat Robertson had said something, to the effect, that it (day of judgment) was meaningless for Christians and it begs the question why would God have us participate. I can understand the passing thought of thinking this (and we should all be dwelling on God's word and asking questions) but to accept this statement, I would be saying that God participates in exercise of futility. Which I know he doesn't. We are to be true followers of God, being doers and not just hearers, staying in constant prayer, studying his word, so that we can be in confidence on that day.
      The "meaningless" comment fuels slothfulness. It's just vibe Christianity. "I have a general belief in this, so therefore, I'm good." or the preacher on TV says that this doesn't apply to me.
      This keeps people thinking that they are in good with God (rich) but not realizing how poor they are. This keeps them from searching the scriptures to see if they have eternal life.

      @avoiceinthedesert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I should probably just skip this question, as I just don't get the point. Ultimately, God decides, and it all happens on judgment day. Why not just do your best to listen to Jesus, and let God decide whether you are showing the kind of faith that he is looking for? bit.ly/2Igml8W

    Great topic and a great video! I just have a few questions and not of correction. Will you boast if you get to heaven that you were more righteous than your brethren? Will you accuse other followers for falling short in their walk with Christ because they believed once saved always saved? Why can't it be once saved always saved? Are conditions on salvation, like accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, believing in Him and staying in our walk with Him and the Holy Spirit as best as possible not sufficient? And IF we err one day, IS our free gift taken away and we therefore are not sealed until the day of redemption? How may errors does it take to lose salvation after being saved? Did Jesus Christ not overcome the world for us, so that we might have a better life here on Earth and in Heaven? Are we not supposed to be IN the world and not OF the world? Would we be more effective as followers by exploiting IN the world to further offer more lifelines for the lost or willfully allowing the world to beat us down NOT in the world? I hate this sinful world more than anyone but I try my best to love, understand and show pity to all the sinners I come across, knowing that Jesus Christ died for all of us. I am not calling you out in correction, these are just some questions I still see debated amongst the brethren with a sense of contention and division.

      Filipe, I have the feeling that you DO think it is your job to correct something that you think is wrong in me, and perhaps in a lot of other people as well. You see, just saying, "I'm not correcting you," doesn't mean you aren't.
      The real question is to be sure your correction is correct!

    I saw a Calvinist TH-camr say that the book of life verses are an error, and it should really say tree of life, because if your name was ever in the book of life, it can’t get removed.

    • @avoiceinthedesert
      @avoiceinthedesert  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If that is true, then there are a lot more verses besides the Tree of Life passage that would need to be ripped out as well.
      Anyway, the main thing is to hunger for the truth yourself... enough to hear it, even when it is uncomfortable.

    Overall, this is a good challenge to predestination and non-conditionality. .
    Then, there is also the book of James.
    One point though. For implications,
    A => B is not equivalent to ~A => ~B.
    This can be shown via truth table.
    Let, for example,
    A: you do not forgive others,
    B God will not forgive you
    So, A => B, or A is sufficient for B, or A only if B.
    However, it is not necessarily the case that ~ A => ~B when A => B, though ~B => ~A does logically follow from A => B via "Transposition" or "Contraposition".
    For example, maybe you forgive others but blaspheme.
    Just a small point in case some critical wish to point that out.
    I probably could have picked a better example where propositions A and B are positively stated.

    • @avoiceinthedesert
      @avoiceinthedesert  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Luke here. Hmm, no that's not correct. We generally accept the whole Bible as being inspired by God. That said, we do strongly prioritize the words of Jesus (from the Gospels and the Revelation of Jesus Christ). We especially prioritize Jesus' words in any situation where they seem to conflict with other parts of the Bible narrative (e.g. Jesus' pacifism, compared with the various "holy wars" of the Israelites.)

      What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction?
      And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory
