It's so motivating to hear stories like this. It's amazing how God could turn our lives around for the better. I can't wait for Christ to change my life, too!

Many a man or woman of God has had moments of self doubt, knowing our weak nature. But God will give us strength that we need to fulfill his purpose. He does his best work in our weakness!!

Thank you for your honesty Pastor Max but I cant think of you as a, in your own words, 'an old drunk'. Yes God is surely good. I have my crosses to bear too. We all do. We are lucky to have you sharing God's grace with the world. Arohanui (love) and Kia kaha (strength) to you and the United States from New Zealand. 🙂🙏🙏🙏🙏🌷🌻🌸🌺🌿

Thank goodness he has not done the typical response of "Don't ask God for patience because He will put you in a situation where you will need it." I don't look at God that way. I look at Him more the Max Lucado does...Lord, I need your help, today, help me to have patience with this person.
God is my ally not my enemy. The person I want to turn to, not run from.

Mr Lucado was referring to: Romans 8:17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Please note the condition "if indeed we suffer" to being heirs and co-heirs with Christ

A Covenant has two parts. Gods part and our part. We Need to Obey Gods Commandments and Seek His Righteousness..our part. There is work for us to Do. God does Not do everything for us. That is a misconception in Christianity today.
