    Found the 4 videos 👍 this man has a great way with his dogs. So much nicer to watch a trainer who truly understands and can relate to his dog. Great series of video’s. It is very a long time since these were filmed but they will stand testimony to an experienced handler who left a great legacy.

    Fantastic videos. My dad talks fondly of the collies his dad had on the farm and how obedient they were but never really had much insight into how they are trained. Its lovely to see the patience and commitment that went into his training and the attitude that if it isn't working go home and sit and think about where your going wrong!

    @gazellefilms oh gosh.. goes to show how much i know about youtube! I just found the message box..! Sorry about the lateness! I am happy to report I have actually managed to find a uni course that will help me learn and get some practical work with working dogs, and also studying wild dogs! So thank you again for helping me along and motivating me with your videos. In one month I will be on the other side of the country studying B. Animal Science :) so exciting!

    Border collies are amazing and all they ask for after a hard day in the field is a good petting from their master. My Mist is more help to me when I am feeding my cattle than my teenage kids because the cows respect her way more, they know she will nip them if they dont move away from the gate while I am bringing in the hay bales. Most of the time all I have to do is say her name and the cows will move immediately. My daughter just bought me a new Border pup and I am going to try to train him a little better than my first dog.

    Excuse my ignorance dog people, but what was Ted putting on the dog's coat at around 8:06?

    • @gazellefilms
      @gazellefilms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was an idea we had to try to make the dog look like another older dog, in it's younger days. This was attempted using black make-up. I think this was for a fill in shot, but was never used. Ted was filmed applying the make-up, and what you see here is just a short clip from what was filmed.
